Someone posted on Twitter that they think their dad who lives there caused it - he doesn’t know how to use chrome tabs and goes off the pinned Farnsworth De facto homepage 30x a day lol
More likely Kyle Farmsworth has a barn full of kidnapped, terrified orphans frantically searching his name on BBREF for scraps and lukewarm Busch Lights with his dip spit in 'em.
Or your thing. Honestly, I hope it's your thing.
Edit: I just saw the Tweet. That's pretty funny.
Edit 2: For the record, I meant to write "Farmsworth," but I forgot to finish the joke about click farms and corn that I had in mind. Sorry, everyone.
It's part of the enshittification of Google. Chrome sometimes likes to 'pin' subpages from history when you type into the search/URL bar for that general website.
That's incredible. At first I thought "there's no way one person could be causing that", but 30 times a day, that's over 1000 views in a year. That...could actually be a significant chunk.
This is absolute and complete bullshit. From Vermont and I’ve never met a single person who’s favorite player is Clayton Kershaw or gives a single shit about the Dodgers haha
Some of y'all have no idea what you're talking about with Vermont. It's mainly Red Sox country, but with a large number of Yankee fans, too. Back in the day, the Expos were popular here.
For the NFL, it's Patriots and Giants. I've never seen a Jets fan (or at least one that admits to being a Jets fan). It seems one little corner of the state gets Giants or Jets games instead of Patriots, but where I live, they're usually both on tv.
I have no idea what to say about Kershaw being the top searched pitcher here. Plain curiosity?
Kershaw was clearly a default option across the country because young fans watching the playoffs had to be like “this guy used to be good? He’s going to be in the Hall of Fame?”
What's really weird is Connecticut. I could totally see them going Freid...but Kershaw? Is this one of those split votes where 30% of the state was Freid, 30% was Crochet, and 40% was like, I only go to church during the World Series who is this Kershaw fella they're saying is going to ride off into the sunset?
Albeit random….its another piece of evidence against the crowd of people who somehow think skiing is an activity that is dying.
I’m about 5 hours south than VT and the amount of families in my area that go there every weekend in the winter is wild.
I mean, CT is geographically in New England but culturally they are New York lite, especially west of the CT River. I’m just surprised it wasn’t Fried for them lol
I'll give you a possible rational explanation. Vermont has a lot of New York transplants. They pull from the Sox numbers. Kershaw faced the Sox once in 2025, which I assume had fairly high viewership. The playoffs had crazy high viewership, and he appeared in 2 games. The stats probably count all the viewers from his one out appearance in the WS toward his total as well. It would be interesting to see how they came up with these numbers though.
My biggest takeaway here is I had no idea Clayton Kershaw was so popular, let alone in 2025. I figured Skenes and Skubal would be more popular at this point.
CT should not get a pass on this. I live in CT. Why Kershaw? It should be a Sox player... Geographically i would accept a Yankee search if its Schlilter or someone interesting.
I lived in Burlington as a kid back in the 90’s. If my memory serves me right I remember mostly Yankees fans around me, with a sprinkle of Red Sox fans. Shame.
Oh wow i didn’t realize how specific it was. Manchester VT shows jets/giants/bills over patriots. It’s a fact. This is a broadcast map. Green w lines is giants, yellow is patriots…
Sorry to tell you this but yes you are. I have a house in Manchester Vt. I’m not making this shit up. That’s a real broadcast map. Google is free and you can get the broadcast maps for every week. Southwestern VT goes for NY
Edit: Should mention I just googled a week I thought I was up there since pats are playing the jets week 18 so this is week 7.
Week 8. Blue is jets, green pats. It’s ok to be wrong. You realize you’re talking to someone that had the local broadcast on in these weeks and was frustrated (as his is each year) that the patriots weren’t broadcasted there. You’re literally trying to tell me that what happens every year doesn’t happen. You’re wrong
I live in Burlington and we do sometimes get bills games when pats are playing at the same time 😬 (travesty). Also don’t see a ton of Sox gear around town tbh (travesty #2)
I like how you mentioned those states when Oklahoma is living in the past watching Nolan Ryan lol.
To be fair to them, they just got color TV last year.
And probably tried to shoot it when they saw it in the living room.
*seen it in the living room
Best correction of grammar I’ve ever seent!
Because it’s a colored version?
That was the joke, yes.
Because that dern tornada done took away the black & white one.
Oklahoma is living in the past on a lot fronts. Reading about Nolan Ryan might be the most relatable.
I'm just glad they're reading.
They're mostly ( if not all ) picturebooks.
You are not wrong.
Thank you for pointing this out. It made me laugh harder than anything I’ve seen in weeks.
“Have you seen this Internet thing with this baseball reference here?”
I’ve pulled up Nolan Ryan’s page several times in the last year to show my son.
“You want to know what baseball looked like before it was ruined by staheads and 19 year-olds getting Tommy John surgery?”
they're on Internet Explorer
Netscape
Oklahoma is last in education.
Gotta be the best at sumpin
Why Kyle Farnsworth, though? He's not even from Iowa.
Someone posted on Twitter that they think their dad who lives there caused it - he doesn’t know how to use chrome tabs and goes off the pinned Farnsworth De facto homepage 30x a day lol
I hope so badly that’s the real reason.
More likely Kyle Farmsworth has a barn full of kidnapped, terrified orphans frantically searching his name on BBREF for scraps and lukewarm Busch Lights with his dip spit in 'em.
Or your thing. Honestly, I hope it's your thing.

A real-life Spiders Georg situation
Red Sox Nation is on Tumblr?
We’re everywhere
The heart moves in mysterious ways.
Yes. The explanation is amazing. That’s where I first saw this.

That's hilarious. But it doesn't answer the question "Why is his homepage Kyle Farnsworth's Baseball Reference page?"
Edit: I wrote "Farmsworth" the first time.
Could be that he visited Farnsworth’s page once or twice so Chrome started suggesting it on startup, and he’s just been clicking it there ever since

That… That’s fucking awesome!
This is the Reddit I’m here for.
He’s got 10 different fanbases searching for why he left.
Maryland anger-scrolling Charlie Morton’s page.
This is absolute and complete bullshit. From Vermont and I’ve never met a single person who’s favorite player is Clayton Kershaw or gives a single shit about the Dodgers haha
Favorites are irrelevant. It's views. I would argue that if you didn't look at Kershaw's career numbers in 2025, you're not a baseball fan.
Yeah once or twice, but to be the most viewed pitcher in the state is BS haha
But Bill spaceman lee should of been number one for VT.
Honestly there's a lot of yankees fans up here so my guess is they split enough of the searches for Kershaw to come out on top
Where I am I’d say it’s 4:1 ratio of Sox to Yankees fans
I’m a Vermonter and this is bullshit 1000%. never in my life have i seen a resident wearing a dodger hat that isn’t from LA
Apologies from CT.
Sincerely, A disappointed Connecticunt.
Pfft, call us back when it's not like that.
Some of y'all have no idea what you're talking about with Vermont. It's mainly Red Sox country, but with a large number of Yankee fans, too. Back in the day, the Expos were popular here.

You are downvoted along with your trash map. No maple syrup for you!
Noah Kahan will have to play two free shows at Fenway for this to be reversed. With Phish opening.
You get no Noah Kahan or Phish. Your Vermont card has been revoked 🤪
Go Sox!
As a Nutmegger, CT continues to disappoint me.
Bring back the whalers.
I feel like we’ve come a long way since I was a kid (winning helps), but it’s still such a mix here.
What the hell does "Most Viewed Pitcher" even mean?
I would imagine most visits to their baseball reference page
STFU. There's only Red Sox fans from where I'm at.
I used to live in VT, which is about evenly split between Red Sox and Yankees fans. Rather amusing.
Do people in Oklahoma just watch reruns of old baseball games?
What's really weird is Connecticut. I could totally see them going Freid...but Kershaw? Is this one of those split votes where 30% of the state was Freid, 30% was Crochet, and 40% was like, I only go to church during the World Series who is this Kershaw fella they're saying is going to ride off into the sunset?
I hereby renounce my Vermont citizenship, though I currently live in the Kershaw Mountain Region.
Why are Connecticut and Vermont looking up fucking Clayton Kershaw?
No way we view Kershaw more then Crochet. I cant believe it. Vermonters wat are u thinkin?
I'm surprised Delaware isn't a Phillie
Seems more like there’s a VPN service operating in Vermont popular with Los Angeles residents?
Albeit random….its another piece of evidence against the crowd of people who somehow think skiing is an activity that is dying.
I’m about 5 hours south than VT and the amount of families in my area that go there every weekend in the winter is wild.
Back in the day, Vermont was considered to be more Expos country than Red Sox (could be why Bill Lee took up residency in VT after he retired).
What I take away from this map is Kershaws dominance. Wow.
CT gets a pass?
I mean, CT is geographically in New England but culturally they are New York lite, especially west of the CT River. I’m just surprised it wasn’t Fried for them lol
For Vermont it should have been Eck. Or Oil Can Boyd.

As a Vermonter, I don’t believe this nonsense.
My biggest takeaway here is I had no idea Clayton Kershaw was so popular, let alone in 2025. I figured Skenes and Skubal would be more popular at this point.
Gatekeeping horseshit
Clayton Kershaw absolutely deserves to be marveled on the baseball reference page.
If you cant take a moment to appreciate a generational pitcher, you dont like baseball.
Alot of Yankees fans up here in VT but Kershaw................
My most viewed pitcher is still Bill Lee
CT should not get a pass on this. I live in CT. Why Kershaw? It should be a Sox player... Geographically i would accept a Yankee search if its Schlilter or someone interesting.
Charlie Morton is fucking crazy
Excluding Shohei* lol I wanna see a map that doesn’t exclude him and see if he’s top in every single state
Is this because Kershaw retired? I’m surprised to see him dominating like that as opposed to Skubal, Skenes or Crochet. Gotta love Iowa though
Obviously rigged. Unless everyone was watching game 5 from 2018…???
As a Vermonter I am very disappointed
Kyle Farnsworth….he could throw a marshmallow through the side of a battleship! God bless Iowa!!
this is a lie. there is no way clayton kershaw is the most watched pitcher in SC.
Motion passes
I lived in Burlington as a kid back in the 90’s. If my memory serves me right I remember mostly Yankees fans around me, with a sprinkle of Red Sox fans. Shame.
I’m honestly surprised it wasn’t the Expos.
Is Connecticut still in? If not, they should definitely be kicked out before Vermont.
Vermont has some nice things...Green Mountains, maple syrup, King Arthur Bakery...I really don't want to kick them out yet.
Vermont goes for New York. You can’t even get the patriots games there.. they show NY teams over pats
Edit: it’s a small slice of west VT that consistently covers NY over NE, not all. I was wrong
Not true on any of those counts. There are tons of Red Sox fans in Vermont (including myself), and I watch the Patriots games every time.
No they do not lolol. Patriots are on statewide every game. Jets and giants we may get one or the other
Oh wow i didn’t realize how specific it was. Manchester VT shows jets/giants/bills over patriots. It’s a fact. This is a broadcast map. Green w lines is giants, yellow is patriots…

Sure man I only manage tv ads and broadcast ad rights and regional sports networks but you’re so right lolol

Nothing you show me from the internet makes it right. But you’re probably someone who argues with the doctor too
I live in Burlington and we do sometimes get bills games when pats are playing at the same time 😬 (travesty). Also don’t see a ton of Sox gear around town tbh (travesty #2)
Cool. Debating the ignorance of everyday people when I professionally work in the exact field we’re discussing is a waste of time ✌️
So what happens with my cable every year you’re telling me doesn’t actually happen. Got it
Who you gonna believe? Me? Or your lyin eyes?
1000000% incorrect

Week 8. Blue is jets, green is patriots
