After the first wave of hunger pangs, you stop feeling it. You just get tired and sleepy, you won't even want to eat. Ozempic is optional, you just need to learn how to be comfortable with hunger, make a friend of it. For a very long time I worked out at a powerlifting gym which had a smattering of bodybuilders or more appearance focused people but also was a lower cost community sort of place where you’d get all walks of life. There were unassuming looking guys busting out an easy-looking 10 rep squat set with 315 next to just regular old moms trying to stay fit. I never felt self conscious there at all.
I moved and switched to a more expensive gym which is decidedly more catered to Instagrammy bodybuilder types and has a significant population of the type of gym baddies (male and female) you only see online. They all wear online gym wear brands, nobody’s in regular Nike or UA. All the men are tall, all the women have instagram butts. I’m sure these are all completely normal pleasant people. I’m scared for my fucking life. I don’t even want to sneeze anywhere near them. I feel like a freak. Is this what it is to be mogged? I see why incels fear it so much, it sucks!
i live in an asian neighborhood and all the other regulars at my gym are asian bodybuilders but they're really nice. i'm the weakest of the regulars but everyone else is chill and gives good advice. i learned a lot about deadlifting from this former pro korean powerlifter. good guy. sometimes being the weakest at the gym is kinda nice actually. you end up learning a lot
