I wish the modus operandi of the modern web wasnt so predatory on the attention, i have only si much willpower to spare per day

Love how every time I click the "I Don't Want To See This Shit" button, Youtube is like "Gotcha. We won't show you any more... for a while ;)"
“Don’t want to see videos of Eugenia Cooney? What about these other 12?” That was the absolute creepiest shit. It was like being flashed with gore
It doesn't even do that anymore, you try and remove shorts and it just gives you "see fewer shorts."
Delete your browser history and go on YouTube and you’ll realize just how bad the lowest common denominator really is
Fixable issue

interesting!
Not necessarily the same because I dont feel fucking incredible after watching the shorts, but I get your point.
Ads on YouTube are also really the worst of the worst. I only watch music related stuff to learning piano and guitar and every ad is AI generated podcast footage trying to tell me the secrets to winning the lottery or smearing beef tallow in my face. I’m trying to learn Bach!
The weird AI daughter asking a ripped old Asian man how her dad can get in shape plays for me all the time.
Getting a hit of crack at the library would get you through books so fast tho
No you would just play video games and beat off instead
You can turn them off, disable recommendations in your google/youtube settings.
Where is this setting?
You have to turn off history actually, they keep making it harder and harder to find so you'll probably need to google its most recent hiding spot
Well YouTube isn’t a library lol it’s a demonic social media platform
I had to teach my coworkers how to navigate to youtube.com on their browser without the native shitty UI app popping up, it's incredible how unusable web 1.0 is thru this new "app" medium. With apps you have to memorize a different set of hacks between android and apple. Demonic!
I don't think the youtube experience sounds remotely as pleasant.
That’s funny as shit
Does anyone actually watch shorts? You can't even skip around to different sections. The first 30 seconds are some lame intro, then along saunters up nanosecond 30.00000000001 with your answer to your question sped up 5x and you miss it. Then you have to exit out and replay the same 30 seconds of the short 5 times. Probably to maximize views. I only use YouTube for fixing stuff and obscure songs tho
"opening youtube to search for a documentary" just say shitty youtube essay
Literally had the same thought yesterday (interrupted by the gorgeous pawg news anchor that reads mean tweets).
