I don't know anything about how the official app works, but doing this would require converting the SQLite DB from RIF export to whatever is queried by the official app to determine if a link has been visited. It might be possible if that data is stored locally and the official app doesn't check if its been changed outside the app.

Is there a way to then import this history onto other apps once RIF shuts down?
I am really saddened by the thought of my link history being deleted.
What other apps? Aren't all third party apps pretty much being forced to shut down?
To the default app.
