The boss has again had to call upon our Academy this evening, with both Fletcher twins, along with Bendito Mantato, Shea Lacey and Chido Obi, all named on the bench.

And that's why you don't listen to random Twitter accounts who say Lacey was starting

Another reminder why the ITK fools are banned here. Not worth anyone's time/attention.

That guy has already deleted his account lmao

    parent root

Yup. Probably a dozen or so people shared what he posted here in the sub, though. It's an interesting occurrence in social media. People are more excited about being first than they are in being right.

    Exposing the 'leakers'

    parent root
    16 points Ok_Pause_7779

Really glad we've had no line up leaks for a while now

99% of their "leaks" are them dropping something that could have a small chance of happening so that when it does people think they're ITK. They delete things later on if people don't notice and if they do then they nuke the account and use one of their other 10. Muting them all is the best thing you can do for your feed.

    parent root

Happy for our young lads but that bench is the definition of weakness & no experience. I hope we don't have to need them.

    parent root
    12 points Utds9

But remember there's people on here that say we have a top 4 squad

    parent root
  • 134 points PradipJayakumar

Chido in the squad for Mount.

    parent
    34 points Working_Location_127

    Excited for him

    parent root
    35 points mashfordfc

God I love Mount but I hate that he can’t play more than a game at a time

    parent root
    61 points ToshJoWe

    Hes been quite consistent lately.

    parent root
    7 points deflorie

Thats a bit of a stretch. He just cemented a place in the starting 11, and after playing a couple of matches, he is back to being injured again.

    parent root
    12 points ToshJoWe

Context is key here. Since hes signed, I cant remember many times where hes managed to string a few games in a row together without getting injured.

    parent root
    13 points digitag

He’s literally been playing multiple games on the bounce though

    parent root
    6 points eviade

Hasn't he had like 2 full 90 games this season?

    parent root
    2 points simplsimonmetapieman

I wonder why not Bianchieri who is doing much better at U21

    parent root
    4 points fuzz11

Honestly would rather have him as the backup striker than Zirkzee

    parent root
    11 points dralanforce

I've read that he has been underwhelming on the subs

    parent root
    8 points galvanickorea

Hype up academy player by ridiculous amount -> dont perform your ridiculous expectations -> after a season with bad stats call him lazy, useless, overrated, everything in the book -> look for the next player in the academy

Dumbass thinks real life is like fifa and u can pick an academy player to magically become first team quality

    parent root
    6 points sexineN

    You can’t be serious?

    parent root
    6 points tsukuyomi_Penguin18

If Zirkzee’s head is in Rome (which it seems to be by how diabolical he was against Newcastle) then yes, they’re right. At least Chido will try.

    parent root
    4 points sexineN

Chido hasn’t been in the squad since last season, and doesn’t even seem to be a starter for the U21. I can’t imagine him being a better back up striker than Zirkzee atm. Especially if we consider the fact that Zirkzee can play as a 10 as well, while Obi is strictly a 9. Zirkzee is definitely not perfect, and certainly not if he wants to leave, but Obi is FAR from ready to be a backup striker for us.

    parent root
    2 points Larryhooova

Last season when given the chance he looked like he clearly wasn’t ready, that said a lot changes in a year when they’re that age.

    parent root
  • 70 points malin7

    Damn, that bench

I guess things must get this bad for Zirkzee to get a start

    parent
    7 points WellYoureWrongThere

Definitely doesn't deserve it but desperate times

    parent root
    3 points CharaPresscott

Well its good he did XD

    parent root
  • 33 points Robert_Baratheon__

Is this 442??? Oh wait that makes no sense because it would mean Cunha LM. Zirkzee 10 more likely?

    parent
    47 points SparksV

I think it might be a 4-2-3-1 like last game

    parent root
    24 points dudududujisungparty

Agreed. Zirkzee at the 10, Dorgu playing RW and Heaven/Licha CB partnership. Excited to see Shaw and Dalot playing at their natural FB positions.

    parent root
    5 points Robert_Baratheon__

Yeah once I thought about it for a second I realized there’s no LM…

    parent root
    4 points abdulalbakrichod

nah its back to the 343

    parent root
    8 points DHillMU7

I think it’s most likely back to 3421 tbh.

    parent root
    7 points Robert_Baratheon__

Yeah Zirkzee at 10 makes more sense

    parent root
    3 points ImNotMexican08

It’ll probably resemble that shape as we get into the opposition final third (like we see with many teams), but seeing as it’s basically the same lineup from last game it likely will be the same setup

    parent root
    1 points bourbonactually

Yeah agreed zirk R10 Cunha L10

    parent root
    1 points GoinSpace

I love that the players are able to play in multiple positions with the same names, Wolves will have no idea which formation we're playing until KO

    parent root
    1 points Abject_Bank_9103

    Gotta be

    parent root
    1 points HeavenAndHellD2arg

could be a 3421 with dorgu at lwb and cunha + zirkzee at the am spots or a 4231 with dorgu on the right and zirkzee in the am spot

    parent root
  • 198 points Infamous_Seaweed3207

Zirkzee must pay for his crimes vs Newcastle.

    parent
    80 points TheJoshider10

Lucky to even be involved in the game after that disasterclass. Hoping he steps up, and by that I mean show even 1% effort. That'd be nice.

    parent root
    7 points mashfordfc

I’d have started one of the youngsters tbh Zirkzee didn’t even look bothered

    parent root
    22 points Japples123

Literally hold the ball up fam. Stop with shitty touches and no jumping for headers

    parent root
    -7 points Livettletlive

The crimes of what, exactly? I swear every match there needs to have at least one scapegoat regardless of the outcome. I watched the match back and I still don't know what his "crimes" are.

    parent root
    27 points Moosje

It’s an obvious joke because he was so shit. Take a touch mate, not that deep.

    parent root
    12 points IXRaven

He jogged around half arsed, his head isn’t at this club anymore.

    parent root
    12 points HostProfessional1602

He was wearing bricks for boots and losing all his aerial duels cmon now.. where’s the pre injury Zirkz from last year

    parent root
    3 points Chip-chrome

    Prolly in Roma eating pasta

    parent root

Being absolutely useless. He was a striker who played way too deep, and wasn't even successful in holding onto or progressing the ball

    parent root
    7 points Ashton1320

Lost couple of possession..fumbled a big chance which would have given us 2-0 cushion ..zero press and lazy work when entire team died to defend ..yu can see his highlights

    parent root
    4 points Yetiassasin

He let the team down. It was a disgraceful effort honestly, worst half I've seen from any of our players this season

    parent root

    parent root

  • 18 points McM-333

At least we know that the leak that was present for years is most definitely out of the club.

    parent
  • 49 points Sac_a_Merde

That bench though. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it this thin before.

    parent
    17 points crftd93

The average outfield players age is 19, and Malacias age is doing a lot of heavy lifting

    parent root

Spurs away in Feb was pretty dire

    parent root
  • 14 points RoachIsCrying

That bench is full of kids that some will make their debut tonight

If Zirksee plays like he did last game RA should sub him 30 minutes into the game make an example.

He was subbed at about that time on this day last year vs Newcastle

    parent

That is definitely one of the benches of all time

    parent

    Zirk as a 10 👀👀👀

Will suit him. No good using him as a target man.

    parent root
    3 points Goudinho99

    Let's call it a 9.5

    parent root
  • 5 points Ok_Pause_7779

Hope Zirkzee starting means Ruben talked with him....fans noticed how he played against Newcastle so id think the coaching staff noticed too..otherwise I dont think he would've started even with us missing players

    parent
  • 3 points timmyctc

Mount injured again is depressing. I think he might be crocked sadly. Such a pity because he looks great when he plays.

    parent
  • 35 points Business_Dig_4747

Zirkzee starting is a joke, the shift he put in at Newcastle, I wouldn't even put him on the bench.

    parent
    28 points TransitionFC

Its not a joke. He literally picked the 11 players he could. Look at the bench

    parent root
    26 points 19Andrew92

Who else then?? Have you not seen the depth we’ve got on the bench

    parent root

    parent root
    5 points yianni1229

Honestly dont give a shit if one of the academy kids drops a 0/10 the effort Zirkzee put out was a fucking joke and he should not be starting

    parent root
    6 points The_Rolling_Stone

Mount is out so no choice

    parent root
    6 points ProofVillage

I wonder if Zirkzee is lazy or is just completely unathletic and lacks mobility as though he was an attacking version of Mertesacker

    parent root
    3 points shrewdy

He might do better tonight hopefully given that he's not the striker in the team - because he simply can't play that role. But maybe playing behind Sesko will play to his strengths much more

    parent root
    4 points Exact_Accident_2343

Our whole squad is gutted bro lol

    parent root
  • 3 points Melanjoly

It's a great opportunity for everyone because as it stands Wolves are the worst team in premier league history (I don't actually believe they are).

Ugarte maybe a terrible player but at least he put in a shift the other day, what Zirkzee did was embarrassing, he doesn't deserve this opportunity.

    parent
  • 3 points Own_Body_8941

No mount on the bench. Consider me broken

    parent

People: give young lads a chance. Young lads on bench People: our bench is weak. So if you call academy players weak why then you want to give them a chance?

    parent
  • 3 points iamadiamond

Zirk please make this your see out game for us.

Give us a few more memories to add, apart from the horrendous performance last week.

    parent
  • 3 points Gozumo

Jesus our bench 😂. Let's hope we can bang 2/3 in the first half and cruise.

    parent
  • 3 points sleepehead

I know that Lacey is the better long-term prospect but I'm still surprised Biancheri isn't getting a look in. He looks more ready than some of the other prospects in the academy

    parent root
  • 3 points Fligflag

Worried about our energy without mount. Zirkzee was shocking last time out, he needs to put some effort in.

    parent
  • 7 points Yetiassasin

People were giving out about the subs last game but isn't it nice to have Licha, Case and Shaw all able to start again only 4 days after the last match.

I loved him but Ole would've ran them into the ground by now. Ruben takes managing minutes and fitness very seriously

    parent
    4 points 3entendre

Yeah, the subs made sense from a planning point of view. A manager always has to think many steps ahead even though many fans are just looking at the now.

    parent root
  • 2 points riseoftheph0enix

Zirkzee isn’t allowed to jog around tonight, especially against the worst team in the league this season/of all time

Team as expected but Jesus Christmas we're threadbare in terms of team and squad. No more injuries please.

    parent
  • 2 points GavinLobo7

Ngl Zirkzee didn’t deserve to be anywhere near the pitch today after that disgraceful showing vs Newcastle.

Unfortunately because of Mount’s injury and having literally no senior players available there he manages to get to play today. Prove us wrong Josh.

Ffs Zirkzee. Please fucking turn up for once...

    Zirkzee has to make amends

    parent
  • 1 points Own_Body_8941

    Zirkzee starting as a 10.

    parent
  • 1 points payday_23

Ugarte Casemiro midfield in a game where we will likely have a big amount of posession at home. Will be interesting to see if Martinez gets the ball more to control from deep or if Amorim wants Ugarte and Casemiro to move it towards the final third.

    parent
  • 1 points Felicks77

We only got kids on the bench lmao

God give me enough strength to watch this team and hopefully zirkzee does something worthwhile before he leaves

    parent
  • 1 points _pbs

is this the youngest bench in the history of the team since class of 92?

    parent
  • 1 points Roasteddude

Zirkzee's last chance for me. I really really like him as a person and as a player. Silky skill full footballer. But that Newcastle performance was shameful and took me from "must keep Zirkzee in January" to "don't care if he's sold and might prefer it". It was that bad. The level of effort was just unacceptable. Today he's player the 10 where he was at his best last season and he's starting and it's against one of the worst teams in the history of the league. If he still doesn't bother to show up then his ass needs shipping to Rome

Curious to see where/how Zirkzee plays - alongside Sesko or alongside Cunha and Dorgu.

I've seen park benches that look more threatening than ours.

There was no other option than to play Zirkzee, hopefully he turns up.

I think, looking at this, we'll be back to 3-4-2-1 tonight. I don't think Zirkzee will play as a lone 10 in a 4-2-3-1, as that would become a 4-2-4, and leave us a bit exposed. Could be either of them really though. Not knowing exactly what the formation is is an unfamiliar feeling these days! It's quite exciting.

Kobbie truly made a name for himself against Wolves nearly two years ago, maybe another academy lad could too today

Maybe Zirk shows up today. Maybe.

That bench is light on experience. Guess we will be seeing some academy graduates today after the 60th minute. Probably Lacey, Fletcher, Fredrickson, Yoro, Malacia.
