Die Hard actually more than one scene about Christmas, using different references in dialogue and icons like Santa’s hat and the film even ends with a Christmas song. Christmas is a somewhat instrumental theme in Die Hard whereas Thanksgiving is just one scene in Spider-Man.
I see what you’re getting at, but here’s a counterpoint: had Spider-Man taken place entirely or just mostly on Thanksgiving, I would agree.
Even the main theme of Die Hard is about a man trying to get back together with his estranged wife for Christmas, which is textbook Christmas movie stuff!
Yeah, in universe it's an Oscorp sponsored parade, but in practice I think it's supposed to be like the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. Although in the movie the parade happens before Thanksgiving whereas in real life the actual Macy's parade happens on Thanksgiving day.
I watch that one every year, and Addams Family Values. I know that one technically takes place mostly in summer, but it has that Thanksgiving play for some reason and that always tickles me.
While I have no issues with that, do keep in mind Spider-Man was over a series of days including one around Thanksgiving, Die Hard is always during Christmas so if either gets dismissed as a holiday film, Spider-Man is first to go unlike Die Hard.

Yes exactly. The entire reason everyone is there is a Christmas party.
Christmas is also integral to the plot of Die Hard seeing as it's the whole cause for the employees to be gathered in the lobby
Wasn't the whole parade scene a thanksgiving parade?
Oh shit, that’s why there was a parade? I always thought the city just did that

Lmfao I never questioned it either
Yeah it was
Hey, hey, hey
There's 2 scenes (iirc)
Exactly.
One scene does not a theme make.
Batman Returns is the best Christmas movie.
And I have to say, an alien invasion movie is the best 4th of July movie!
I second that
The Batman is a great halloween movie
Batman 89 takes placeon Thanksgiving.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is THE Thanksgiving movie.
I watch that one every year, and Addams Family Values. I know that one technically takes place mostly in summer, but it has that Thanksgiving play for some reason and that always tickles me.
I watch it with my family every Thanksgiving, no exaggeration.
I swear people saw that one video essay and decided to live by it.
100% straight facts

Bike messenger... yeeted me.
Idk if it works the same. Die hard somehow revolves around Christmas it just doesn’t mention it.
Die Hard, at its core, is about the importance of being with Family at Christmas.
Spider-Man, at its core, is about our responsibility to others and the sacrifices we make.
Ergo, Spider-Man is a Veterans Day movie.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
I couldn’t have said it better
I can't think of a single example, but I'm sure there are Christmas puns.
What if Spider-Man revolves around giving thanks to Sam Raimi for giving us such a wonderful movie?
Fair point mate
Die Hard takes place entirely on Christmas Eve. Spider-Man has one scene during Thanksgiving dinner.
There's a movie called Thanksgiving. Free Birds and Planes,Trains and Automobiles round up the rest of my thanksgiving yearly rewatch
It mostly depends on the plot.
Spider man doesn't need Thanksgiving for the plot to work.
Die hard does.
Die Hard need Thanksgiving?
How would Norman have figured out he’s Spider-Man without Thanksgiving? Very important!
Yippee ki yay, motherfff… fruit cake!
Thats fair
Ok! 😀👍
I would agree but I'm English so I don't celebrate that holiday
Was there ever any question about that?
Next you'll tell me Independence Day is a 4th of July movie
What Turkey movie?
Oh, wait, you mean the one where two turkeys use a time machine to travel back in time to the first Thanksgiving, to take turkeys off the menu?
Correct.
Not the same comparison, but I'll still consider spiderman a thanksgiving movie anyway
Hey everyone!
not remotely the same thing

Wait, who said SM wasn't a Xmas movie?
I watch it every year on thanksgiving, 6 years strong
Which movie?
Dang I should have watched Spider-Man for Thanksgiving
No because most of the movie did not take place during Thanksgiving
Die hard is a Christmas movie in the sense that:
It happens around Christmas time and it's a tradition to watch it in December.
That's it.
