I'm so glad undelete is back. I got so tired of people pulling this shit on me instead of just fucking admitting they were wrong and I had no way to prove it even though I saw the post change before my very eyes.
It's funnier now because they nuked the entire post so it wont show up on the subreddit anymore lmao.But yes, undelete is a very useful tool for these idiots.
Reminder that these are the type of people who are reddit mods. Can't even just say, "whoops, yeah I fucked up," instead of editing a comment, arguing about it, deleting comments and nuking a thread.
You could almost think that, but I quoted them and then once they realized they were wrong, they went back and edited the comment and then lied and said they didn't and started deleting my comments. It also isn't a typo when they added in an entire sentence to change what they originally said.
So they were typing a response as it was being edited. This isn't rocket science. Comments don't just materialize the second you open the chat box, typing takes time. Like, y'all get that, right?
Yes I said that multiple times throughout the thread. They still argued that was not the case lol. They still said the person definitely edited the comment after seeing their comment
I didn't load the page as this was a comment reply that I got in my inbox. I wasn't sitting on the page waiting for a reply. Why are people so obtuse? Is it deliberate?
How was the edit made before my comment when I quoted what they said? Do you realize how stupid you sound? Do you also not realize that this just records the time the last edit was made? Not that the entire thing was edited at that exact time? And I am calling YOU obtuse. No one else seems to be as mentally bereft as you are being in this exact moment.

Look I don’t get why you’re being so defensive. The timestamps clearly show they edited their comment before you comment.
Maybe your phone had their comment cached. Maybe the edit took a while to propagate to all the cache replicas on Reddit, so you were initially served the out of date version.
It literally doesn’t matter. Even if you saw the old version before their edit, the timestamps show they fixed it before you even replied, not as a result of your reply. The timestamps don’t lie. I don’t get why you’re trying to die on this hill.
I dont use reddit on my phone. I also had no reason to bother going back to quote something if they made the edit before I commented because I wouldn't have even seen it. How does that even make sense? Does it show that my post was edited to add that in there after the fact? No, I guess it doesn't. There is no hill to die on. You just like thinking that you are correct when you are in fact, not.
You clicked a notification. You saw their old version of the comment. As you were replying and quoting them, they fixed it. They submitted their edit before you clicked “Reply”
So...I somehow quoted something in thread, after the notification, after they already fixed it, meaning I never should've seen the edited version to even quote it...yes totally sounds like a thing that really happened and not that they edited the post afterwards.

It shows their comment as (last edited 9 minutes ago), and your comment as posted 8 minutes ago, meaning the edit occurred before you even replied
