It absolutely transfers to monetary rewards. If your post/comment receives (an) award(s) and enough karma, they pay you for bringing traffic to the site. I’ve got $0.45 so far and I don’t even try.
That and I believe you can also sell accounts for people wanting an account that can get more influence. Once browsed an account that completely changed half way through.
Is this a feature that needs to be turned on? How does one check this? I had no idea that there were cash prizes for being popular on Reddit other than smugly patting myself on the back when people like my comment
If you’re on mobile, you click you’re little picture in the top corner, then scroll down to where it says “earn” and click on it. It’ll tell you what needs to happen to qualify. Unless they’ve changed it, you have to get a certain number of awards before it starts.
In the Philippine subreddits, people have been buying old unused reddit accounts and accounts with certain amount of karma. This is very similar to account buying on facebook. Some are for business and most are for political purposes. Not sure about the post but that is one possibility.
I don't love that source. The author appears to be a blogger styling themselves as a researcher, and the article reads like a student assignment. Their evidence is lackluster to my mind, a simple receipt showing a purchase by Washington's cousin of slave teeth.
You’re being downvoted because you missed the point, not because you “know what words mean.”
Yes it’s possible that this person is American, but not born in the USA. HOWEVER, it’s weird to make a post about how you don’t understand something about US history because you’re not from the US, and then respond to that exact same post that you know the answer because you’re American.
Well, technically, yes, you can be from anywhere in north, central or south america and be American but American has been flanderized to meaning from the USA, but also, that's not the key focal point, in the post OOP said they dont know then proceeded to reply with the answer not as an update but as if they were a different person.
TLDR: well, yes, but, actually, no, but that's also not the point.
You do realize that you can be born anywhere in the world, not just south, central and north America and be an American, right?
Being American born is not necessarily a requirement to be American.
Well, obviously, American citizenship, but that's not the point, it's the fact OOP explained what they said they didnt know, they clearly meaning to swap to an alt to get engagement but what do I know
Make your mind up.
Is an American born in the US or born in south, central or anywhere in north America?
Or can they be born elsewhere and become American?
So far you've said it can only be the 1st, then switched to the 2nd, then agreed with what I said, which is they can originally be from anywhere and settle in the US.
You're talking nonsense, arguing with yourself, then trying to argue with me because I was right in the first place and now you agree with me.
You're weird 😂😂😂
All 3 are true at the same time bruh, OOP just said they were not from the USA, ok, it's not the fact that they replied saying they're American, that can be the case, but the context with US history would imply the meaning of US citizenship, but that's not the part that's important, that's not the bullshit, the bullshit is them replying acting as if they were a different person, clearly meaning to switch to an alt
I'm not, nor was I ever talking about what OOP said though, that's what you don't get.
I was talking about what you said, and you said 3 different things were facts, which they weren't.
You're weird.

what did bro do to get downvoted so much
Used an emoji on reddit if I had to guess
😂
🤯
:0
🗿
Apparently a thumbs up emoji is now considered rude.
Although, in this case I can’t tell if it is or not.
👍👍👍
👎👎👎
I am so confused.
groupthink, you're just not "in on it"
god forbid we remember our ascii art roots
I wonder why someone would do something like this
I think it's probably karma-farming
I dont understand karma farming, obviously you get big numbers but does that transfer to monetary rewards or is is just an ego thing?
It absolutely transfers to monetary rewards. If your post/comment receives (an) award(s) and enough karma, they pay you for bringing traffic to the site. I’ve got $0.45 so far and I don’t even try.
Edit: I just looked, it’s actually 60 cents! Lmao
Nearly 13 years of my life boiled down to less than 50 ¢
I guess your jokes need work :/
That and I believe you can also sell accounts for people wanting an account that can get more influence. Once browsed an account that completely changed half way through.
It never used to. Most people don't care because it amounts to $1.00

Cool. 60 American dollar cents. Amazing.
Holy balls I have $6.25. I am invincible!!
It might be ego for some, but it’s usually a monetary thing. You can sell an account with a lot of karma to companies that may use it for advertising.
I never knew that was a thing.
👍 thx!

I bet OP faked this one. Nobody would actually do that.
No, I believe him. I've seen other users do the same thing on here.
Truly, this behavior needs a formal diagnosis.
Some people have a pathological obsession with looking smart/helpful
That user’s post history is full of deleted posts because they kept replying as if they forgot to switch accounts. Weird.
Someone’s bot messed up and didn’t trigger the switch account function correctly
People that do shit like that need to straight fuck off
It actually replied to itself on another post too. Seems it also stole a picture & posted it as its own.
Wait
People on the internet...
...lie?
All that to be wrong too. We have Washington's dentures. They're ivory, specifically hippo ivory. https://www.mountvernon.org/library/digitalhistory/digital-encyclopedia/article/false-teeth
Was it true they are teeth from slaves? How did people verify that?
No, they are made of hippo teeth. There is little evidence for the human teeth, a minority already, being extracted from his slaves.
Edited to be more representative of the data
This article says it's made from human teeth, but it said it may have came from slaves.
https://washingtonpapers.org/george-washingtons-false-teeth-come-slaves-look-evidence-responses-evidence-limitations-history/
I hope it's not true because I think the hippo teeth theory is much better. That source could just be propaganda. I'm not American.
I don't love that source. The author appears to be a blogger styling themselves as a researcher, and the article reads like a student assignment. Their evidence is lackluster to my mind, a simple receipt showing a purchase by Washington's cousin of slave teeth.
I could not tell. I've never heard of "washinghton post" before and it says org. I haven't scrutinised history sources for a while.
Bro listened to Shane Gillis and decided to try to sound smart to everyone else.
What???
?
People that do this kind of thing are really pathetic
Yeah i completely agree
You can't see the username in the original post.
But you can see the “OP” tag on the reply.
Yes, my bad!
Happens to the best of us; have a lovely day!
You can be American and not from the US.
Edit: Damm, downvoted for knowing what words mean. That's a new one 😂

Guess everyone's weird except you, if everyone's the asshole maybe you're the asshole
Are you back again? Such a weirdo 😂
Is bro a bot?
Sshhhhhhhh! Beep Boop
Lmao, get good bruh, take some ragebaiting 101, this is laughbaiting lol

Ngl, you're probably the most ambiguously passive-aggressive person I have met on reddit
You're so weird man.
And you're normal?
It's possible to be a naturalized u.s. citizen (an American immigrant) and be born somewhere else though right?
The reply spoke as if it was a different person who came across the post tho
Their other post is exactly the same only the content they stole came from another user in the same sub reddit.
