Looking for a suggestion on the binding, the backing is a little bit more contemporary than the top and don’t know if I want to use that for the binding. All suggestions are welcome! Please, I would like an opinion as well as this is my first time doing a full quilt on my home machine, decided not to do long arm since it was a smaller quilt and easier to manage..
Update, It's Done!!

FWIW I like navy on multi colored quilts, and I think that would complement the backing also. I’d use solid navy binding.

Good suggestion, I will see what I have. I probably have some.
I love it! I’d use a solid blue/navy fabric if you had some on hand at home. You could also try laying the background fabric in a 1/2” strip around the front of the quilt. You may find that width doesn’t show the fabric as being much different in style from the quilt top.

LOL if you have fabric on hand! Bins and bins and bins. I like the suggestion of the navy blue. I will also cut a strip just to see thank you.

I cannot believe I don't have any straight navy, but I do have leftover Moda grunge that you can use the reverse
Thank you so much for the suggestion, this was definitely a close one!
The dark charcoal
No charcoal on hand, but I do have this!

I tend to do a lot of black bindings but I think your dark navy accents the colors on your gorgeous top
That’s what I’d go with. I love the way something that reads grey frames patchwork.
This is by far the best looking binding choice IMO.
Gorgeous quilt!
Nice!! I was gonna suggest something like that
Hmmmm
The darkest nearly black fabric in your quilt is what I meant by dark charcoal.
That’s what I used in my reply picture
Agreed, after looking at this, a blue would be great! Beautiful work, show us the end product too!
its done, and up. Link in post now.
Red.
The only solid red I have is too close to a fire engine, there is this though

I kinda really like this. But the navy is probably better, or the yellow. I just love red.
Same, but I kind of fell in love with the mustard. I’m gonna give it a try fingers crossed.
Now I have to go look at this
I was thinking one of the yellows.
Wish I had some of the yellows left, this was a random fat quarter and scrap quilt. I like your suggestion what do you think of this?

I love this
I generally prefer that bindings are not one of the body fabrics, and this color is great. I liked the gray too, but this is brighter, to me it’s a better frame for this quilt.
Oh, that’s excellent!
In love with this, looks way better than the others in my opinion.
it's done and up!

I would do a bright like taxi cab yellow!
This is close to what I did!
I would use a mid to dark gray. Or red if you want it to be more colorful.
I prefer the navy. Love this quilt!
Yellow
Ok so now I like all of them. Grey red yellow. You need to make more quilts
I am humbled, thank you!
The dark gray from the top would look nice
What is this kind of pattern called? I’d like to try this shape vs my standard squares!
Tumbler! It's literally one of my favorites, it's very forgiving, especially if your corners aren't perfect you barely notice it unless you're using single colors.
Lovely quilt! I’m going a different direction; I’d bind it in the red on the top if you have enough. Hope you show us the after!
Red was definitely considered, the only red I had was like a fire engine red and I didn't care for it. I did have a little bit of the red left over from the piecing, but I don't think it was enough. If you want to check it out I did post it!
