I couldn’t get over the setting of the show being filmed primarily in Australia, moonlighting as Chicago. The only Chicago scenes were drone exterior shots. 😂
They did technically do the original American dub of My Neighbor Totoro together but I imagine they probably don't remember that too well, if they were even in the same recording sessions
Dakota also said in an interview that Elle played the younger version of her character in I Am Sam! Allegedly production couldn’t find someone that was the right look for the part and Elle was there anyway so production used her. She said that was the only time they worked together technically, so I can imagine they did the voice acting pretty separate.
They recorded their scenes together, its part of the behind the scenes footage (rip DVD extras) but it was nearly 20 years ago so its possible Elle just forgot about it when she said this or doesn't count it since it wasn't live action.
That is not the original dub tbf, there was an earlier dub that came out in the early nineties maybe. I grew up on that version and it was the only one available here when I was a kid :)
Weird someone downvoted you?! What you said is true. An English dub of Totoro has been around longer than Elle and Dakota! Love their dub version though.
Ahh maybe someone thought I was bringing it up as a way to say the Fanning one was bad but that's not what I meant! Just wanted to point out there was another version. They are both good, just different!
They are supposed to be playing sisters in an upcoming adaptation of the book "The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah. Tbh, who the heck knows when it's coming since it's been in pre-production since like 2018, but according to the author earlier this year, the movie hasn't been cancelled, AND the Fanning sisters are still set to star in it. I am SO EXCITED. I have read the book many times, and I think they are a fantastic choice for casting.
That’s what it pretty much comes down to, they will pay to make a film/tv show and then sell it to a distributor. There is more involved with the financial side like ownership, division of profits, and contractual agreements. But a production company is the one providing and finding the funding for a project.
Paying to purchase new or undiscovered books or scripts that they can turn into vehicles for their career. Most of the time it’s acting but sometimes it’s directing or script writing depending on their current passion.

I was looking for this! Sisters!
The two wolves inside of me
Every time you yell I have to re record it
I adore your flair; Pretty Wild was such a fever dream and so few people in my life saw it
One of my fav pics ever
Def speaks to me and my sisters
I'm Elle rn lol
My queens
Skimmed over this and thought it was a screen shot from Vanderpump Rules.
Going to hype Dakota for a second and say if you haven’t watched All Her Fault on Peacock yet do so nowwww
100% seconding this! Great show.
The missing kid thing was a hard stop for me, I have two and can’t do the children in peril thing.
If it helps the child is never in any actual danger
That does help thank you

Goddamn it was SO OBVIOUS, there is nowhere in Chicago itself with rolling prairies 😆
And the book is set in Ireland!
It such a bad show but she’s great in it
Thanks for the recommendation.
i was hoping it would be something like this(which is a fake quote but makes me lol still):

That's a fake quote? Im devastated lol
im sorry you had to find out this way 😞
Thank you, you were as gentle as possible, analfartbleacher lol
fuck this is so good, I miss click hole
Why does that hit so hard though! I wish it were real, but I could see one of them busting out some philosophical quote out of nowhere.

Elle also played Dakota's younger version in the Taken miniseries.

Literally just watched this yesterday, it's such a good movie and they both did so well together ❤️
Kinda interesting that they haven't really acted together before
makes sense when you remember that dakota took her break when elle was just starting to work regularly.
They were originally going to be in My Sisters Keeper, but Dakota didn’t want to shave her head. Can’t blame her.

I always want to know what “having a production company” means in these instances
I think paying to make movies and shows.

Pretty much every A-lister or near A-lister has a production company. It's one of multiple ways to make money coming and going in the film business.
They’re going to have to run some lines together for The Nightingale and I’m sure that’ll be so interesting lol
I can not waittttt for the Nightingale!!!!!
Their parents seem to have done a good job job with them.
Dakota looks totally different as an adult than I expected.
I wonder if she asked Dakota if it’s a good idea to work with Woody Allen 🙃
I really love them as sisters. I have a sister and to me they perfectly embody our dynamic. Fully supportive and completely non competitive. ❤️
Never seen a bad film starring the Fanning girls
