I don’t think it’s about convincing his base. I think his base doesn’t care what the collateral damage is, they love him because he gave them social permission and cover to not do the hard work of challenging their prejudices. He gave racists permission to be afraid of Islamic peoples, and the cover of “national security” to do so without giving up social status. He gave permission to hate trans folk and the cover to do so under the guise of protecting women. He gave permission to hate immigrants because they’re eating your pets! Ppl say historians are going to research why he had such a cult following but I don’t think there’s any mystery. There’s just a lot more hateful people around me than I really expected there to be.
I think this really is why the core group support him. They get permission and cover to be their worst selves and to give into their worst traits, and get told that’s not just good, it’s the right thing to do. They don’t have to change, or grow, or learn to tolerate or accept new or different things. They can yield to instinctive first reactions and don’t have to care that those reactions may be from a place of ignorance or intolerance. They don’t get ostracised, they get celebrated. They don’t have to change, they get told they are right. It’s not about loving Trump himself, it’s about loving the permission he gives them to be selfish, cruel, unkind, mean-spirited, disagreeable, vindictive and intolerant. All traits he celebrates in himself, and receives no negative consequences for displaying. And they celebrate and recognise those behaviours in each other, too. They protect and laud Trump for as long as he can still give them the cover and still represent what they love having permission to be. If he goes down at all, or gets diminishes, or suffers consequences, that goes away. So they will forgive a lot before he finally gets pushed out.
It’s time to see if child abuse outweighs the bigotry for these people. I think a lot of them are jumping ship, but my fear is that too many are going to value the bigotry more than the children.

This is such a copout by the DoJ. They claimed that there was nothing in these files that warranted any further investigations or criminal indictments when there clearly are more than a few. They just saw the claims against Trump as lies because they were about trump. Where there's smoke there's fire and there's more smoke around Trump than snoop dog in a hot boxed car.
I'm not saying this to be rude, but ya'll still aren't getting it. there seems to be this idea on reddit that if only we can deliver the right information or data or proof to republicans, they will somehow see the light and change their minds. This idea simply could not be more wrong. Republican voters are ideologically bought into trump, because of what he represents - the normalization and empowering of white supremacy. They are more than happy to disregard any economic or geopolitical impact of his policies, they don't care if he diddles kids, as long as he empowers their white supremacy. Proving that trump is a kiddy diddler will change nothing for them, they will support him through almost anything. The only line trump cannot cross and maintain support, is to stop being a bigot. If he comes out and says 'DEI is good for America' or 'trans care is health care', they will turn on him, sure. Everything else, including rape and molestation of both adult and underage women, is fine.
The fact of the matter is that every time they voted for a republican, Bush, Reagan, Romney, McCain, what they wanted, what they were hoping they were voting for was Trump. Anything published in nytimes, reuters, and ap, is also news fit for television. The only reason it is not breaking news on tv is because Republicans bought the networks. The boss doesn't like the truth, so it just won't air.
I know people don't want to hear it, but if you just dump the files, from an active investigation there's no telling what is or isn't fake, and the news has to be very careful about what they report because as many times and ways they try to explain it is unverified people will not hear it and it will destroy their credibility even more if it comes out as a fake, and they can't afford to lose the little credibility they have.
And, besides the suicide note, it sounds like there are hundreds of thousands of unverified pages.
When it comes down to it, they don't even know if the email addresses even belong to the people they allegedly belong to. So, they have a lot of work to do. It'll take some time, but they'll start reporting on it.

Donald Trump used a plane that was once owned by Jeffrey Epstein, the late disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, to fly to several presidential campaign events last weekend, it has been revealed.
The former president flew on a Gulfstream G-550 jet whose previous ownership was subsequently traced to Epstein after Trump’s own private plane – a Boeing 757 known colloquially as Trump Force One – encountered engine troubles.
The former Epstein jet was emblazoned with the slogan “Trump 2024” for the duration of the ex-president’s use.
According to the Miami Herald, Trump flew from Bozeman, Montana, to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and then to Aspen, Colorado, before a final trip to Denver on the jet to attend fundraisers as the Republican presidential nominee for November’s election.
The Trump campaign said it was unaware of the plane’s previous ownership when it chartered it from Private Jet Services Group, a charter jet vendor it occasionally uses, after the technical problems with the former president’s own aircraft.
The campaign had originally used a small charter plane to complete the flight to Bozeman last Friday night after the private Trump plane had been unexpectedly forced to land in Billings, Montana.
It switched to the larger Gulfstream jet the following day.
The Miami Herald said the plane had the same serial tail number – N550GP – as a jet that previously belonged to Epstein, Trump’s former neighbour in Palm Beach, Florida. Flight data indicated that the plane is now owned by the Threshold Aviation Group, a private charter company based in Ontario, California.
It is a different plane from another former Epstein-owned aircraft dubbed the “Lolita Express” that was at the center of a sex-trafficking case filed against him before his 2019 suicide. The late financier sold that plane in 2017, and it has since been destroyed.
“The campaign had no awareness that the charter plane had been owned by Mr Epstein,” a spokesperson for the Trump campaign told the newspaper. “We heard about the former owner through the media.”
She said the former Epstein plane was only used for one day.
Disclosure of its use is likely to add to the scrutiny of the relationship between Trump and Epstein. Despite Epstein’s death being ruled as a suicide, it has been the subject of various conspiracy theories.
The two men knew each other for decades and were photographed at the same social events in the 1990s and early 2000s, with Trump publicly extolling their relationship years before Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida in 2008 to state charges of soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution.
“I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy.” Trump told New York magazine in 2002.
No evidence has surfaced that Trump was involved in any of Epstein’s crimes. The two men had a falling-out in 2004 over a property in Palm Beach that they both tabled bids for, something Trump referenced in 2019 when he was president and Epstein’s reputation had been ruined by his conviction as well as charges that he later faced.
“I haven’t spoken to him in 15 years,” he told journalists in the Oval Office. “I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you.”
Later that year, Epstein died by suicide while he was detained on unresolved federal charges of sexually trafficking girls as young as 14.
Flight records showed that Trump flew six times on Epstein’s planes between 1993 and 1997. Epstein was known to travel with other high-profile passengers onboard his aircraft, including Prince Andrew, the former US president Bill Clinton and Robert F Kennedy Jr, the son of the former attorney general who is now staging a presidential campaign as an independent candidate.
What's kind of odd about this Epstein plane/island discussion is that the plane never flew to the island as the island has no airstrip. His island is not in the middle of the ocean only accessible by his plane. In fact flying on Epstein's plane is kind of irrelevant because his island is just off the coast of St. Thomas, less than a mile from many hotels, houses, etc. You can get to St. Thomas on any airline and any boat can get you to his island.
At this point does it matter anymore ? Everyone who drank the kool-aid will never believe that their lord and savior can do anything wrong. They will claim it's fake news and choose not to believe anything conflicting with their views.

I know people don't want to hear it, but if you just dump the files, from an active investigation there's no telling what is or isn't fake, and the news has to be very careful about what they report because as many times and ways they try to explain it is unverified people will not hear it and it will destroy their credibility even more if it comes out as a fake, and they can't afford to lose the little credibility they have.
And, besides the suicide note, it sounds like there are hundreds of thousands of unverified pages.
When it comes down to it, they don't even know if the email addresses even belong to the people they allegedly belong to. So, they have a lot of work to do. It'll take some time, but they'll start reporting on it.
That's why conspiracy theorists are demanding "the files." So they can make their own conclusions (that will coincidentally be exactly what they already believed).

I'm assuming they mean because the stuff that people are talking about are allegations, but the news reports things as "allegedly" all the time.
They'll report on a lot of it. They'll definitely inform the public that more files were released.
But as far as reporting on each document, piece of evidence, I think the way they report on it would have to be done very carefully, and each thing handled differently.
For example, when it comes down to it, they don't even know if the email addresses in the emails actually belonged to the people. Is that actually even Epstein's email address??? They have to look into all that before they can report that it is. It's a hell of a lot of work but they will.
Pictures are pictures, they'll just show them, and they've been doing that. I don' t think it's quite as easy with like a chain of emails, for example.

Literally all he has to do in order to avoid the 25th is write a letter saying "your findings are wrong. I remain competent." And sign it.

The 25th Amendment is for removing a President from the inside if he becomes somehow incapacitated. Like surgery going wrong and the President must remain in a coma, where he's alive but unable to lead and for an uncertain amount of time. It's an apolitical action.
So if Impeachment can't happen, the fucking 25th is a joke scenario. It's not some "vote of no confidence" that people think it is.

His island is not in the middle of the ocean only accessible by his plane. In fact flying on Epstein's plane is kind of irrelevant because his island is just off the coast of St. Thomas, less than a mile from many hotels, houses, etc. You can get to St. Thomas on any airline and any boat can get you to his island.
But flying on public aircraft makes you seen.
