Just had my aces full cracked by quads on a single pair board and my reaction was "oh.........anyways" and on to the next hand I went. And that was that. No tilting, no depression, no anger, just moving on. I am actually happy about my reaction.

  • You're that guy who goes to AA meetings to talk about his stable marriage and how "gee you know it's funny, I haven't even had the urge to take so much as a sip of beer in years!"

To be clear: everyone hates you

    Congrats on your success

  • The next stage is when you cheer because they hit their runner runner to crack you

That's peak desensitization, laughing at the absurdity of the one outer or the runner runner

Every bad beat I take today is one less bad beat to take when I'm finally playing for millions of dollars

  • Congratulations, I'm proud of you.

Now that you've conquered the biggest hurdle in poker, you are essentially unstoppable.

Respect your bankroll and you'll go far 👍🏻

  • That’s how it goes man. Even though we might face some inevitable disasters along the way, as Marcus Aurelius said, we can not always control situations, but we can control how we react to them, or something among these lines.

You don't get to choose what happens, only how you react to it

  • I've done this recently. I think walking in with $2k in my wallet helped a lot. Before I would go in with nothing and max out my ATM withdrawal of $500. Not even enough for two max buy ins at 1/3

Answer to that….carry 5 ATM cards from separate banks….Then….Instead of ATM meaning Another Twohundred Missing ….it can mean….Another Thousand Missing like it’s supposed to!

  • That reaction is honestly a good sign. When you really internalize how often rare stuff still happens over a big sample, it stops feeling personal. Quads over boats feels brutal, but it is just one of those low frequency collisions that has to exist for the math to work. Being able to shrug and keep your decision quality the same next hand is probably more important than any single result. Most people think they are fine with variance until it actually shows up like that.

  • This is the way it should be, honestly.

Zero tilt over bad beats is my poker superpower.

  • Are you longboi? Lol

  • Now do it on a massive downswing

  • Got you beat...lost with quads to a higher quads..big pot..while everyone hemmed and hawed, I just shrugged it off and got more chips..

I have never lost with quads but to be honest I consider losing with the nut boat to be essentially the same thing as losing with quads.

Yea I guess..I flopped quad 2s.. Against top boat....river came 5 for bigger quads.. I saw a guy hit quad 6 against As full The guy only had 1 6 in his hand, so that was also very brutal.

Losing to quads when there is a 3 of a kind on the board isn't really a massive cooler as there are so many combos of quads on that kind of a board.

It is when it comes runner runner

Ya if the money goes in on the flop

Money went in on turn, on board of 4 A 6 6 River came 6.. Hero= AAA66 VIL=66667 I think thats like 2% with 1 card To come.

    Ya that really sucks

My quad 8s lost to a straight flush. Immortalized on the internet.
