Was vending at a show and someone sold me these

Awesome lady came up to my table with a bag and asked if I was interested in buying these instead of cards. $70 for the entire lot I never got my money out quicker in my life. I dont even know if I overpaid or not and dont care lol

Not sure about the newer pokemon, but at least the gen 1 and 2 ones look like vintage Tomy figurines. For a lot that big id consider 70 a good price. Great get!

Sandslash is my favorite and I lost mine too! A couple years ago my mom found a sealed tomy one and gave it to me for Christmas. I'm 36. I still tell her it was the best gift she gave me.

You guys should check out that thread from a few years ago "every pokemon is someone's favourite". I think they got 20000 votes and found that while that statement wasn't true of the poll, at least every evolutionary family got a minimum of 1 vote. Interesting read when you're in the gamut of not having an obvious favourite.

I vividly remember the day I got home and opened the Sandshrew/Sandslash set as a kid. My grandparents were watching Wheel of Fortune in the other room and we had just gotten back from swimming lessons, I can still smell the chlorine just looking at that figure.

I loved the Tomy figures as a kid! I never knew where to get them so the few I had were from friends. I remember having Gengar, Togepi, Dragonite, a chewed up Moltres, a Charmander without a tail, a Pikachu without a tail, and Krabby and Kingler missing some legs. I especially loved the faded colours on the gen 1 figures because it kinda matched Sugimori's watercolor style.

Still got a few. My mom moved and kept these bc “I actually saw you play with them”. Wish she would have kept my binders of cards too but had no idea what they were worth, still very happy to at least have a few of the classic Tomy

That’s a great deal, the Tomy dunsparce is incredibly rare and pretty expensive. Dunsparce is my favourite pokemon so you can imagine how sad it is for me 🤣

I have very fond memories of the Tomy toys. I had a really good chunk of them, but once I realized they hadn't truly released all 150 in the West, I sold a bunch of them once I went off to college. I managed to keep the starter lines and Pikachu though. I also randomly still have venomoth for some reason.
