• the look he gives her when she remarks upon his "sparkling personality", they're going to be a great comedy duo

Lol yes! I’m so looking forward to their dynamic next season.

Even better was the look he gives when he snaps for her phone and she gets upset with him, then he asks with that big fake smile and says, "Please." Laughed so loud at that it started my cat.

Runner up comedy scene: when we see him pouting with his arms crossed in Carol's trunk.

    this actor is really good.

His snaps had big Carmella from Sopranos energy for me. Makes me wonder what his background is to be so demanding and dismissive of the one person who can help him save the world

Don't forget, he hated his mother. Maybe she wasn't a bitch at all. He is throwing big warning flags right and left.

It's gonna be like Beef (2023), and I'm here for it.

This duo have amazing chemistry. Can't wait to see more chaotic moments from them...🤣

It will be more dramatic to see them make out because seemingly Carol is more of a bisexual person rather than a full lesbian orientation

How do you know she’s bi? Lol

Was going to say, never seen one clue that she likes guys too.

Carol is gonna be a liability to him

  • It's two against One.

i’ve been saying “one with lots of limbs”

    A very big one.

Not with an Atom bomb though (at least not the intent to use one).

  • Walter and Jesse toilet scene vibes

    Walt & Jesse 2.0

The human resistance being made up of the most petty people on the planet.

  • We're doomed.

    Nah, we’re totally fine 😃

Did you see manousos’ Tony stark moment ? Can’t wait for the hive to scream at each other “manousos was able to build an emp disruptor with a box of scraps in a local Albuquerque library”

  • Anyone else found this scene weirdly shot? Almost like it was on greenscreen?

Pick ups probably, "gotta match the light from the summer shoot but it's winter now" kinda thing

Wow this is totally it. Great catch.

looks very similar to when she goes on the top of that building to see the hive leaving her, after the zosia almost dying

Probably a sky replacement to maintain continuity

parts of it definitely felt like studio lighting, the grate stuff they might have built a whole little set for considering they shot inside it and up through it

Yeah that looked really weird. Why would you build that whole cul-de-sac to then greenscreen that scene.

because reshoots are expensive and sometimes shooting with a green screen, especially when the shot involved is costly to recreate (I don’t want to imagine the amount of people and equipment on a Pluribus set, especially around that cul se sac) and strongly dependent on weather and light conditions.

It’s not like they purposefully designed this shot to be greenscreen… it’s usually a very cheap last resort.

No, not at all. They built the cul-de-sac from scratch so they could do what they wanted without permission or interruption. No reason for green screen.

imagine you shot this on a bright sunny day in September, but now it is January and you see that something is off during this scene while cutting/post production. the weather is cloudy and everything, so that's where you green screen all the way.

  • I’ll tell you this if at the end they do save the world there’s going to be about 70 million people in the US and another couple hundred million worldwide that are going to be pissed off and they are going to hunt them down.

That totally depends on an individual's experience as a part of the Hive mind. I imagine that, by the end of season two, they'll successfully have unjoined someone. At what cost? Hard to say. But everything hinges on that person's reaction to becoming unjoined. Do they beg to be reunited with the Hive? Or are they pissed that everything that made then unique was taken against their will? Does it hurt to be Joined? To have all the world's minds running through your own at the same time?

That, I think, will be the lynchpin moment of the whole series, and knowing Vince Gilligan, it will be anything but straightforward. I wouldn't be surprised if the person that's unjoined falls into a coma. In fact, if that's what happens, then I can see them being in a coma or catatonic state for a couple episodes as the Joined are increasingly agitated/crying for them to be released, and then, at the last second, their eyes snap open and then CUT TO CREDITS.

  • He got it back, so there's hope!

  • this is brilliant.

  • They are perfect for each other. All of Vince’s shows have dynamic duos, Jesse and Walter, Kim and Jimmy. Now we have Carol and Manny.

Wait, did you put Carol as the sidekick?

  • The two most stubborn people in the world 😂

  • Carol is wrong in so many ways but theyre gonna end up being bad ass together.

  • It’s every superhero team-up trope. They first have to fight.

  • I mean that's the whole joke of the show, the saviours of man kind are a sardonic lesbian romantasy author and a stubborn storage unit manager from Paraguay. They are both selfishly preoccupied with returning things to where it was more than they are with saving humanity, but they still are good people in the end.

    Carol is sardonic?

Yeah she's witty but also bitter.

  • Carol better keep that shotgun within arm's reach. No one can protect her from Manousos.

  • I was thinking about the amateurish green screen in this scene for the rest of the episode

  • Benjamina Colina

  • Its like a reverse Adam and Eve where the world ate the poison apple.

  • Finale of Pluribus feels like the finale of Breaking Bad. It felt like abrupt end.

  • I have little faith in the show. I love Vince, BB and BCS has got to be 2 of the best shows of all time but here in Pluribus, everyone is dumb as fk.

    1) The survivors that were met with. No need to even argue this point but they are fine with the world being taken over by a parasitic virus. Hands down dumb as fk. 2) Diabetes is not as dumb but absolutely purely selfish and will need a massive character arc change to redeem himself. He is basically a rapist and so is Carol. Sex with someone that is being controlled by a virus is not with consent. Toxic and despicable 3) The unmet non English speaking and the random unmet characters are now my only hope but as yet nothing yet indicating that they are doing anything yet 4) The entire world, dozens of nations with massive military bunkers, isolated ships, submarines, quarantined medical facilities, bases and remote fortifications that all got taken over within days? 5) Scientists that have received instructions for an alien virus and no layers of security. I’ve seen Amazon distribution centres with more layers of security, server farms and university labs with more layers of security. The scientific community are morons. It was only given a benefit of the doubt because it seemed like the hero’s will save the day with intelligence and honestly, the scientific community can be plausibly dumb but when everyone is dumb, this just adds to it 6) The Pluribus can’t farm? Don’t know that picking the fruits of a tree doesn’t harm the true. Cannot produce Aaanny food at all? Nothing? Volunteers info that could lead to their self destruction. Hands out nukes? Dumb dumb dumb much more dumb not even mentioned. 7) An alien species that is intelligent relies on a species that is intelligent enough to receive the virus, decode it, synthesise it, yet break quarantine and get taken over and no one comes after them with vengeance? Why? To harvest the minuscule resources that could be mined from planets and asteroids and comments and from places with several orders of magnitude of more abundance and less hassle? 8) Carol is dumb, she is selfish and rude and arrogant and I am not impressed by her at all. She was building up to being at least persistent but then crumbles and then chooses Pluripussy over humanity until told she has a month or few to live? Despicable. 9) Manousos is about the only one that comes close but he risked his life and all of humanity by pure arrogance and rather than wasting time handing hour IOU’s and token quantities of money and trekking along without gathering equipment or just take a boat, take a plane. Ask questions, interrogate them… not in the last few minutes of the last episode of the season but throughout.

Give me Mike Ehrmantraut, Jimmy, Kim, Walter, Lalo, Gus and the dozens of other characters that are each smarter than ANYONE in this show, the entire planet, the Plurbs, any of the characters.

Sure, the set pieces of actions, the sequences and the ideas are interesting. It has a lot of potential, it’s still worth a watch and just by the fact that there is nothing out there that is any good. Seriously tell me a show that is new that is worth watching right now?

But does everyone have to be dumb? Give me a character that does clever shit over and over again. Not just dumb as fk actions basically taking the entire show to just hope that they change. Just hoping that it’s a build up. Just a scattering of intelligent moves but mostly infuriating stupid.

Tell me that this is the best Vince could do or was it watered down by Apple?

Vince only cares about stretching a one sentence idea into 9 episodes for that sweet paycheck. 15 million dollars per episode down the drain...

I don’t mind the stretch, I don’t mind the money, I know what Vince has done has been in BB and BCS are top notch. I just don’t want everyone to be so dumb. There is so so much dumb tv shows and movies and BB/BCS was smart, with characters that acted intelligently but here it is few and far between. Stretch it out just make their actions respectable.

its almost as if people might act dumb and irrationally in a scenario like this...almost

I already know you hate Skylar right?

Skylar was fine because there were plenty of smart people as well but in this show, it’s almost everyone always acting stupid…

People react in CRAZY ways to trauma, it's completely unpredictable.

Carol experiences her partner die in front of her eyes and sees the human race suddenly get controlled by a hive mind.

Going through a range of emotions and reactions is completely normal and no human being is expected to act rationally and smart in this situation.

Writing characters that are super in control and rational and on top of everything would not be realistic and would be extremely boring.

After 70 days, and a lot of growth, we'll see a lot of different behaviour in the 2nd season.

What's up with redditors and their completely unrealistic expectations of human behaviour?

Do you see yourself as a super intelligent and in control guy in this scenario within 70 days?

    LOL

It’s fine that any one of them acted dumb as fk but - everyone - is acting dumb as fk. In a world where everything from every single Marvel, Starwars, Dr Who, Star Trek and just a slew of movies and tv shows where the stupid is dialled up to 100 but you watch BB/BCS and there are smart people doing cool shit and there it was, one of the rare few outlets where intelligent people did intelligent shit. Walter did dumb shit, Mike fk’d up, Carol can fk up, Manousos can be a stubborn prick and the scientists can fk up too and sure no one in the world is at all interested in saving the world, no one aaaaand the plan for an alien species is to send out a virus so that intelligent species also fks up? And they do, all at the same time the entire world that has spent thousands of years fighting each other, fortifying and creating doomsday bunkers…. Allll at the same time? Yeah, nah, fk it, I am glad there isn’t another episode for another year. I don’t find someone who gives up on the world to rape the body of someone who is controlled by a zombie virus sympathetic. There is still quality in there, the show is fine and Vince does well but the onslaught of stupid in this show and 99% of shows in the world today, I’m over it. Vince was one of our last bastions and he brought over a plate of stupid and I don’t have to like it. Its shit, It’s a table of shit… Bill Burr said it well
