Carol first talks about her eggs in a flashback with Helen on a previous episode (don't remember which), when they were on a vacation on that "ice hotel". On episode 9, when the hive decides to leave New Mexico to get away from Manousos, Carol also leaves and goes on that "vacation trip" with Zosia, which is when she learns about the uninfected woman who had joined the hive at the beginning of the episode and how the hive had Carol's eggs which could be used in place of her stem cells to help research a method to infect her with the virus.
This is what I don't understand. Carol is smart. How could she not think to at least ask for her eggs back?
I get that them having her eggs is a plot device to add urgency. But I feel like they needed a better solution than Carol not even thinking to ask for them.
Zosia said they're 1, max 3, months out from having what they need to convert her. it's likely that taking away the eggs now wouldn't stop them, they've already been working on it. also, the implication is that they will never give up, so Carol could take the eggs back but they're going to find another way regardless.
I dont thinl they would reveal anything regarding the egss or effort to convert her. Their prime objective is spreading virus. Remember military were on to them yet they still proceeded with Day 0 plan. They are pretty defensive about joining other humans.
I wonder if there'll be a jumpscare near the finale if Carol tries to use the atomic bomb to destroy the giant antenna, only for the Hive to reply with a "No."
lmaooo I knew the eggs are coming back to the plot sooner or later but I didn't expect for the atom bomb throwaway line to be, well, not a throwaway
you are quite good because going from eggs to virus is
in the ridiculously inconceivable field, unless I was missing a big breakthrough in biology in the recent years.
When did they mention eggs? People been talking about it for a while.

Oh the ice hotel! I remember that
Spot on prediction o7
Chekhov's A-bomb
Absolutely.
Pretty sure the Atom bomb was a stress test for Carol to really see how far they would go.
Surprised she didn't just ask for her eggs back.

yeah but they need the eggs to advance progress
But then she could always tell them to destroy every one of their progress (unless they think an ovum is a life or whatever)
she could just ask where the eggs are and destroy them. They could not hurt her trying to
they could refuse, a better idea is to ask where the eggs are and then destroy them

Plot armour.
Exactly. They don’t care if she sets it off.
As long as it's not near those eggs apparently
I don’t get it?? Why would they care is she set off the bomb???
the bomb is just Carol trying to mindfuck the hive by being irrational. or just a future destruction tool to prevent their space transmetter
I wonder if there'll be a jumpscare near the finale if Carol tries to use the atomic bomb to destroy the giant antenna, only for the Hive to reply with a "No."
LMAOO
Its an atom bomb threat
Its chekhov's atom bomb
