yeah we have researched lots and still are, if you have specific recommendations im open to looking into things, thank you!:) i promise we don’t typically let it slide, but her flopped ears were too precious to not snap a pic….
Good for you for researching. The breed requires it imo.
Spay your dog.
Use positive reinforcement, not yelling, swatting, etc.
Socialize the dog with other dogs and people and so on. They need to be exposed to all kinds of everything.
No dog parks. They’re dangerous. Can cause irreversible damage.
On that note, some dogs get dog aggressive at puberty. Doesn’t mean the dog is a bad dog. It’s something to watch for tho.
Start touching all over to get her used to it.
Start dremeling or clipping nails to get her used to it.
Is a prong collar negative reinforcement? It may be and if so I am making an exception for them: Prong collars are not torture devices. If it’s between taking her somewhere or not, use what u need to use to have easy control. (They’re very strong dogs.) You have a good time, she has a good time, every person and animal around you stays safe. (Responsible pitbull owning mode.)
Nothing wrong with muzzles either. Be a responsible pit bull owner. Of course majority don’t need but if you need it use it.
They’re big time chewers. Cheap stuff u don’t care about should be provided when she gets that urge to shred something.
Around 1yr- 1 1/2yrs my dog became unmanageable on the leash. I put her in training where they recommended a pronged collar. It was an absolute game changer! If you use it correctly and responsibly, it can be a great learning tool.
Yes I tried and tried and he’s trained in lots of other ways, but I’m an old lady with a 100 pound pitbull and after 5 years of getting my shoulder yanked every which way when he sees a lizard, squirrel, cat, etc. I was over it. Now when he sees that “instrument of torture,” he goes into ecstatic mode. lol. Make of that the logical thing: he doesn’t see it as punishment.
thank you so much for all of the advice!! she’s doing so well and such a sweetheart outside of the chomping! she’s already learnt some impulse control with sit & stay, she waits for the command to get dinner/fetch, heel, and middle. she’s been going on drives and trips to the pet store (in our arms, she’s not fully vaxxed just yet) and she’s been super calm seeing the small animals, other dogs, people, etcetera. we definitely play with her ears and toes and ears all of the time, and we lift her food while she eats and throw in a higher value treat then put it back down. trying our best to not let anything slip through the cracks! we have a safe harness for her to practice walking indoors, but ill definitely research collar options more, thank you again!!
You’re welcome. You may not ever need a prong collar (or muzzle). But sometimes people do and there’s nothing wrong with those things, imo. If it’s between leave the dog home all the time and being able to take her wherever whenever you want to with zero fear and being a Responsible Pitbull Owner, I say use those tools! 👍🏼
Our bar is higher than everyone else’s. I got my pit a tiny terrier mutt puppy from the shelter and he is a terror! But he’s tiny so it’s not a such biggie. If my pit behaved the way this terror oops terrier behaved, man it’d be a problem. The terrier is a pup too tho, so he gets a pass for a bit, lol.
I imagine you were letting her nub on you for the adorable pics, but I would start practicing redirection to a toy fairly soon, as those little chompers will hurt as soon as she gets a bit stronger!
my girl was the biggest biter I’ve ever met, she even started when we first met (we were already smitten with her by then). But she did grow out of it and is best behaved dog we’ve had. Just great with all dogs and people.
She does still bite/nibble when she plays with but is much more controlled and doesn’t hurt anything. I remember those little needles though

Yours too! You’re going to have so much fun. My dog has the same wrinkles. I wonder if it’s a Pitty thing?
awwwe really? that’s so cute! our girl has a curly/curled over tail so we think she’s probably mixed with something else:)
We did a doggy DNA test. My dog was a stray and my curiosity was getting the best of me!
Oh my gosh what a cutie!!! I miss my guy being this little. So thrilled for you and hope you enjoy your new baby! Lots of love
she’s only 9 weeks, such a baby! thank you💓
Please keep us posted on her progress, OP! Can’t wait to see her grow!! Xo
This will continue until she’s almost 8 or so months old. Do not panic. Research.

This is a huge understatement
Teach mouth manners. Give a chew toy instead of your hand.
we are working on her mouth manners! we just got her a few days ago though, so it may take a little time..
Cuteness overload 😍 Def a chomper!
So cute!!! I love silly babies!
When mine does this, I always say " Oh, right away trying to eat daddy's hands again!"
Awwwwh!!! What a lil cutie!!!♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🐾
Cutie toot!!! She'll grow into all that skin.
I imagine you were letting her nub on you for the adorable pics, but I would start practicing redirection to a toy fairly soon, as those little chompers will hurt as soon as she gets a bit stronger!
Absolutely precious, though 🥰

feels like it sometimes🥲
There are great training techniques to help. Most revolve around direction and direction.
She’s so freaking cute! So precious
