It's actually illegal in my state for tires to extend beyond the bodywork (i.e. you need fender flares), but inspection stations either don't care or it's not a failing item, and the cops don't do anything about it either.
The problem is that most cops share the opinions of the people driving said trucks, and they aren’t going to ticket people they like. It’s corruption at all levels.
I got a neighbor who payed $1700 for a turbo exhaust. It rumbles like a Harley and starts producing a high-pitched noise akin to a plane taking off if he runs idles for more than 3 mins.
I hear all of these complaints, but this is still just a pickup. The size and features are intentional and necessary for me to make a living. I have to put food on my table like everyone else.
And, I can't use the work van or either of my wife's cars.
Part of my job delivering glass, and one of the invisible services that I and others like me offer to our communities, is driving around off-duty as a desperate expression of our need for attention.
Also, as a pro-lifer and lifelong Republican, I believe that the age of consent starts at conception.

PS - For people reading this from outside the United States of Freedom, these colors don't run. And, you're welcome for the internet.
It's actually the point of owning a truck this big for them. People who drive these oversized trucks, on average, are much, much more likely to cause major accidents than almost any other vehicles. Their thought process is, rather than think, "Hey, maybe I should be a more focused and careful driver", they think, "If I should get into an accident (that I likely caused), it should be the people in the other car(s) that get seriously injured or killed, not the people in mine". If you see someone owning a car like this, you know for certain they are immensely selfish - they don't care about the difficulty others have dealing with them, they don't care about taking more parking spaces, and they don't care about the great harm they cause. Their only thought is, "If I should cause harm, it should be to others, not myself." Immensely frustrating.
Which is ironic, they think they’re so fucking tough when, in fact, they are scared shitless of the world they need to protect themselves even at your expense.
Where I live there are a lot of assholes driving these monsters, what I hate about them is their lack of common sense and education, every time a stupidly big truck parks at my job we know we are in for some shit, like being yelled at just because we can't sell beer before 10 am or random stuff we can't do something about for legal reasons.
Yeah it's a pisser. First brand new car I ever bought got hit within 3 months of purchase. I'd had 14 years of driving various things I cared far less about leading up to that and the worst I'd had was a couple of dings from people opening doors into them in car parks.
At least in this case he parked somewhere where he isn’t half in another vehicle’s spot. But yeah the whole “giant vehicle for one person to drive around in” trend needed to end years ago.
Or they're spaces blocked out for visibility. At my grocery store, drivers have decided that the hash marked no parking zones at the ends of the aisles are actually extra parking spots. (They face no consequences for this behavior since they're out and away before anyone shows up to dole out said consequences.) Except when a vehicle is parked there, especially a large one, you can't see to turn out of the aisle, so you have to YOLO with crosswalks to either side of you and frequent thru traffic going 10-15+ MPH. Pull out slow? You'll probably get hit by a car you couldn't have known was there. Pull out fast? Now you're risking hitting a pedestrian. Good luck!
Also if they clip another vehicle with the backside of any of the tires they launch whatever they touch upwards. Makes it very easy to cause other vehicles to roll, especially if two of these hit, one vehicles wheel pushing down on the other vehicles wheel pushing up, bad news
It's actually illegal in most jurisdictions. And it's a shame that it's not enforced. Same with the ridiculous lifts, bumper heights are federally standardized for the safety of everyone on the road. These things ought to be uninsurable, and should carry extra penalties when causing damage and/or injury to others.
Those are off road tires that are designed for trails. The tires are no fun on regular roads and are loud as hell. This truck is also explicitly designed for heavy towing, it's a dually truck, not designed for off road or trails. The entire set up is so stupid!
Exactly! That truck, unmodified, would be a dream for hauling a four-horse trailer, a livestock trailer, a CDL flatbed trailer, giant boat, etc.
The hard top could be taken off but the lift kit will cause alignment problems with most trailers and the tires will make the towing experience miserable.
This clown is ruining a useful truck and polluting the environment by driving a vehicle way bigger than he needs, all to compensate for his insecurity (daddy issues, penis size, height, whatever it is).
Dude should go to therapy; it would be way cheaper and far less embarrassing.
I had an S50 Z3 M Coupe from new. Best car I've ever owned. It was written off by my dealership during a service ("we had to test it, Sir") ONE WEEK after the factory stopped building them.
There's never been anything like it, and never will be again. I also (still have) the "other" M Coupe (1 series M Coupe) and it's great but not a patch on the Z3MC. Having the S50 or S54 engine in that a car, where you're effectively just sitting over the rear axle was just... unique.
Do yourself a favor and just decide you're going to keep it forever. I had a Z4M Coupe and sold it, and I've regretted it pretty much ever since. I think if I ever go back, it'll be to a Z3MC though, as I've loved those since they came out and it was what I actually wanted when I bought the Z4. Great cars.
I absolutely adore them. I was really trying to convince myself that I should get one a few years ago but I hardly drive so I decided against it... for now...
If you want one don’t keep waiting. They just keep going up in value, to include even non-M models. They are now at that age where finding a lower mileage original car is commanding a lot of money. Given that we’re likely entering another inflationary period here with cheap debt again, the recent dip in the car market is going to be over next year, in my opinion.
They need to pass some legislation on car size; it is getting ridiculous and unsafe to drive a normal-sized car. Heck, it seems like they make them that height, so their halogen lights just blast ppl from behind. Furthermore, parking garages and lots aren't made for them.
Unless, like you said, they have a special license for work, I don't see the point
That's the best part. They are this big because big corpo lobbied to have reduced regulation on "utility" vehicles. Which also just so happens to be what the truck is classified as.
It’s worse than that. The EPA has a loophole where they allow the emissions requirements to be calculated by overall vehicle size. Thats one of the big reasons all vehicles have gotten 1-2 size classes bigger. Even new civics are the size that accords were 25 years ago.
That's true for stock trucks. Someone mentioned this is an F-450 which when stock is already huge.
But this thing is obviously modified. Tires, lift, suspension, etc. I'm pretty sure the tires aren't legal (shouldn't stick out that far) and often these lifts aren't legal either. But no one enforces the law, or holds anyone involved accountable. The shops should be refusing these mods, there should be State inspections that this would fail and if some how you modify this yourself and fake or skip the inspection, or if your State doesn't do them, then cops should be pulling these guys over and ticketing them until they modify them back within the legal limits. Hell impound the car too, force them to pay $$$ to recover it and then make it unregistered until they prove it's back to stock. So if they do disregard this they get pulled over again and charged further with driving an unregistered vehicle.
All that said though, half the time law enforcement types are the ones driving these monster trucks so they get off without even a warning because their buddies think it's cool and won't ever dare pull them over. And even if not a LEO it's obviously a conservative ultra manly dude so that fits right in with most cops who won't dare pull a bro over.
We should also fix the regulations around stock trucks too, but these things are generally illegal as is but like I said good luck with enforcement.
You don't even need a special license to drive this shit. And people gravitate towards bigger vehicles because they feel unsafe in smaller vehicles when every other vehicle is big.
It's not just unsafe for other cars. Pedestrian deaths have doubled because these murder machines throw people under rather than up and over. The psychopaths who drive these sorts of trucks don't consider human life to have any value.
I drive a 1 ton pickup for work. Don’t have a choice there is just no way anything much smaller is going to go where I need to carrying the amount of equipment I need. I hate driving it in town and I live where big trucks are the norm so parking spaces etc are simply designed bigger than what you would find in places like Vancouver. If I ran someone over I wouldn’t even feel it. Luckily I have a car I use when I’m home.
I can guarantee that is true. The compensation factor with guys like this is so crazy. You can even measure it. Their insecurity is directly proportional to the ((lift height) x (wheel offset)) / fractional sidewall height. Guys who drive trucks like this would go into a murderous rage if you said their truck looked cute.
Exactly. In fact Ford only makes one car model now, the Mustang. GM stopped making cars altogether, their last one being the Chevy Malibu. So it's hilarious when Trump complains that Europe and China doesn't buy American cars-- we don't make cars. The guy is such an idiot. The US only makes SUVs, crossovers, and pickup trucks, almost all of which are legal loopholes to get around emission standards that can only be sold in America.
Ford Europe make loads of cars, although admittedly they've got rid of their super popular smaller cars (like the Fiesta, which was reliably one of the most popular cars by sales here in the UK every year for more than a decade straight) to replace them with pointless "crossovers" with worse dynamics.
Wheels and tires on truck tell you all you need to know about the person. Also an illegal vehicle to drive with tires extended out past wheel wells, throwing rocks all over cars around them. We need road tax per lb not per gallon.
Not a fan of assumptions but what I am wondering is why anyone would spend all that money on a F-450 and then turn around and spend more money to modify it in a way that reduces it's sole purpose, towing. Not only that, their suspension is not going to last long with those wheels and tires. What mpg they did have is also going to be lower. This is a vehicle that is a huge overspend if you're not towing 30,000 lbs. or more on a regular basis. Anything else can be done more efficiently and at a much lower cost with another vehicle.
I would also argue that nowadays a vehicle like this is a political statement as well. It says "I'm no liberal pansy who cares about the environment, I'm a real manly man!"
Guy probably has Fox News running in the background for half the day.
A guy I worked with bought a truck like that used from a guy and said that it was worse than useless. It handled worse, didn't do any better getting through deep snow, and when he'd plug in the block heater, the giant ground clearance meant that if there was a good wind, the engine would still be freezing when he tried to start it.
Technically wheels can't stick out past the fenders or flares depending on the state. Some actually enforce it, some don't. So at least they should add some flare extenders.
The douchey light bar at the very bottom of the truck bumper is still higher than the headlights of the Z3. I'm so sick of driving around with lights brighter than the sun shining into my eyes. US needs regulation and actual enforcement of both vehicle size and light brightness / location.
I can hear the balding mudterrain tires clobbering down the freeway from just looking at this picture....
Then as it passes me I can hear my windshield getting pelted with debris and gravel.
I love when you can hear a picture.
That first sentence took a few rereads to understand if you were insulting the driver or the truck
Bit of both
Dude on the left still has 94 payments left on that truck
And is just 94 hours away from repo...
$94 is also the daily fuel cost to go to work and back home.
'94 is also when he peaked.
It's also his credit score
And SAT score
And how many days until his wife divorces him
after she finds out that's the number of illegitimate children he's got
Also how many millimeters his peen is
Same guy complains about gas prices all the time.
His IQ
And his sperm count
The height of the child he ran over.
In inches
He wishes
The year he was conceived.
Same thing!
That’s just starting the engine
Yeah, he works in the home office
Wears a quarter zip under his north face vest.
Tells you how alpha he is, while chugging a white monster
At full throttle, it creates a whirlpool in the tank.
94 is also his credit score
Totally Biden’s fault though.
Very true. He made all American's penises smaller and so they needed to compensate. Some more than others.
Biden turned me into a newt
But you got better
A NEWT‽
I got better
94mm pp
94 problems and a b***h ain't one because they're all car problems.
That's because gasoline is hardly taxed in the US. In the Netherlands, it would more be like 250 bucks.
Repo man holding the camera
And the smallest dick ever recorded
C'mon now, no body shaming. Brain shame them instead.
Brain smoother than a chicken cutlet.
Savage
smallest dick-brain ever
My husband says “they can’t control the size, but they can control the smell,” so we make stinky pp comments instead
'It ain't 12 inches, but it smells like a foot.'
Its more like a cloaca at this point.
...and complains every day about gas prices.
... despite living in the state with the 3rd lowest gas prices due to government subsidies.
...and is firmly against hybrids and electric vehicles. Thinks they cost more than regular gas trucks.
And each payment is $2,500
And talks about his tires and rims every 5 minutes.
Loves his wheel spacers too...
And replacing bearings.
And you just know it’s at an unbelievable interest rate
I can't stand spacers/offsets on trucks, ESPECIALLY a dually. You have hard enough time staying in your own lane.
*Edit: Added offsets to not offend the automotive know it alls ;)
I'm more concerned about the stones they throw
Same. I hate anyone with wheels extending past the wells without flaps. I’m in the south so I see it fucking everywhere.
It doesn’t even look good
It's actually illegal in my state for tires to extend beyond the bodywork (i.e. you need fender flares), but inspection stations either don't care or it's not a failing item, and the cops don't do anything about it either.
Same here.. illegal but no one enforces so they don’t give a shit..
And this lawlessness is spreading like a disease. It's not good.
Its all those dudes driving these trucks, like 99% republicans. Whose whole "life" centers on "mah freedoms"
The problem is that most cops share the opinions of the people driving said trucks, and they aren’t going to ticket people they like. It’s corruption at all levels.
I assume the cops who ticket cars for tint are the same that wont ticket these trucks. Lol
Or, if they DO enforce it during annual inspections, its easy to slap on your stock wheels for a day, get it inspected, then swap back.
Self important assholes are gonna self important asshole, regardless of legality.
It's illegal in most states you need a mud guard too
In my area, the law actually states that the wheels must not extend past the fenders.
Guess what I've seen for sale in a dealer's showroom.
Lol this princess will never sully its wheels on anything other than pavement I guarantee you that.
Won't be anywhere near a dirt road.
[deleted]
probably the same way many of us know
That’s the thing, I don’t think most of the people who have those on larger trucks care about staying in their own lane
Yeah, haven't met one who wasn't a douche.
Yeah it's a big indicator of personality when someone thinks that they need a truck this large, and it's probably extra loud too.
It’s a ford.. they sound like a broken vacuum cleaner lol
I got a neighbor who payed $1700 for a turbo exhaust. It rumbles like a Harley and starts producing a high-pitched noise akin to a plane taking off if he runs idles for more than 3 mins.
Yea but he’s owning the libs.. /s

He didn’t even park between the lines
That's while I drive next to them in my Sonata beater. Just waiting for them to drift over and get me a new car.
I have a 100% track record of only getting hit in the cars I care about 🤦♂️
Yeah it's a pisser.
Oftentimes the hash marks are for ADA accessibility around marked spaces or curb ramps.
Or they're spaces blocked out for visibility. At my grocery store, drivers have decided that the hash marked no parking zones at the ends of the aisles are actually extra parking spots. (They face no consequences for this behavior since they're out and away before anyone shows up to dole out said consequences.) In Europe they would be highly illegal. The tyre and wheel need to not exceed the wildest part of the week arch.
Those are extremely dangerous. Even on a small car a pedestrian can be snagged and dragged in.
That being said that entire truck would be highly illegal in Europe due to many dangerous reasons. The US code really is laughable.
They’re “illegal” in a lot of the U.S. as well, it just isn’t enforced. It’s so frustrating
The venn diagram of cops isn't completely in the circle of people who own these trucks.
If you squint you can see a sliver of those that don't.
Also, no European would want to intentionally make a car wider. Even in less dense areas, there are narrow roads in villages.
Also if they clip another vehicle with the backside of any of the tires they launch whatever they touch upwards. Makes it very easy to cause other vehicles to roll, especially if two of these hit, one vehicles wheel pushing down on the other vehicles wheel pushing up, bad news
Legitimately think that’s wider than the Freightliner Cascadias we have at work.
And those are semis.
Worse visibility than the Cascadias too.
I'm a grown man and I often see trucks where the hood is up to my chin.
I guarantee you the insurance company doesn't know. I've never been asked if my truck has these kinds of modifications when getting it insured.
Those are off road tires that are designed for trails. The tires are no fun on regular roads and are loud as hell. This truck is also explicitly designed for heavy towing, it's a dually truck, not designed for off road or trails. The entire set up is so stupid!
Specifically, it’s built for a gooseneck trailer since that is the main purpose of dualies. But he has a hard top on, so he can’t even pull one.
Umm no, it's obviously designed to pick up milk from the grocery store
Which you must go to heavily armed of course
Just itching to pull the trigger at any colored... I MEAN "criminal"
And then he put spacers on it to top it all off. Useless truck now
Those are not off road tires. They HAVE pronounced tread, but look at how short those sidewalls are. These would be useless off road
If those tires were designed for trails they'd have sidewalls. These are for show
Meh they look like All-terrain tires to me. The tread is acceptable, the spacers and how far the tires extend past the body of the truck is not.
And I mean, look how dirty they are. They must do a LOT of offroading
It's a pavement princess. Come to Durango, Colorado - they're everywhere.
Got tailgated by one just this morning!
the voids in the tread aren't that big, looks like just a A/T tire to me which aren't that bad on roads.
Z3 coupe?
I had an S50 Z3 M Coupe from new. Best car I've ever owned. It was written off by my dealership during a service ("we had to test it, Sir") ONE WEEK after the factory stopped building them.
Rest in peace little buddy.
I have an S54 M Coupe with <20k miles, keep deciding to sell and then change my mind after driving it some more
An S54 one? Please never sell it, those are such cool cars and are classics
There's never been anything like it, and never will be again. I also (still have) the "other" M Coupe (1 series M Coupe) and it's great but not a patch on the Z3MC. Having the S50 or S54 engine in that a car, where you're effectively just sitting over the rear axle was just... unique.

I think if I ever go back, it'll be to a Z3MC though, as I've loved those since they came out and it was what I actually wanted when I bought the Z4. Great cars.
Damn that’s infuriating. My father bought a brand new 98 Z3 and one of his biggest regrets was not coughing up a little more for the M Roadster.
And I guaran-fucking-tee you the Z3 guy goes through life happier, smiling, and a better person than the dbag in the oversized pavement princess
Yup that looks like a clown shoe!
I absolutely adore them. I was really trying to convince myself that I should get one a few years ago but I hardly drive so I decided against it... for now...
My dad has a 98. Amazing little car, so fun to drive. Gonna have to kill off both my brothers to inherit it but I’ll make the sacrifice.
If you want one don’t keep waiting. They just keep going up in value, to include even non-M models. They are now at that age where finding a lower mileage original car is commanding a lot of money. She blinds everybody with her super high beams, she's a squirrel crushin', deer smackin' drivin' machine.
Top of the line in utility sports, unexplained fires are a matter for the courts
Twelve yards long, two lanes wide,
Sixty-five tons of American pride!
Having driven a large truck before I really don’t understand the appeal of doing it daily
They need to pass some legislation on car size; it is getting ridiculous and unsafe to drive a normal-sized car. Heck, it seems like they make them that height, so their halogen lights just blast ppl from behind. Furthermore, parking garages and lots aren't made for them.

The bigger problem is the way driving license categories are done in the US in relation to vehicle sizes.
Over here in Europe:
Mopeds:
Motorcycles / Tricycles
Motor Vehicles:
Heavy goods vehicles:
Busses:
And that's to just be able to drive these vehicles, to drive heavy goods vehicles and busses commercially, you need an additional endorsement.
The additional license requirements limit the feasibility of larger vehicles, and creates a larger market for smaller vehicles.
Which is fucking stupid since modern semi-trucks have massively better emissions than modern passenger vehicles.
That's true for stock trucks. Someone mentioned this is an F-450 which when stock is already huge.

Not even the yellowish halogen. Insanely piercing LED with the pure white light right into your mirror. It’s ridiculous.
You don't even need a special license to drive this shit. And people gravitate towards bigger vehicles because they feel unsafe in smaller vehicles when every other vehicle is big.
I live in Chicago, even moderately sized SUVs make difficult driving through side streets.
It's not just unsafe for other cars. Pedestrian deaths have doubled because these murder machines throw people under rather than up and over. The psychopaths who drive these sorts of trucks don't consider human life to have any value.

I can guarantee that is true. The compensation factor with guys like this is so crazy. You can even measure it. Their insecurity is directly proportional to the ((lift height) x (wheel offset)) / fractional sidewall height. Trump wondering why US cars dont sell in Europe
This thing couldn't pass through most urban roads here and would never find a parking spot. Maybe only usable on a highway.
Also, it's just not safe and doesn't pass a simple EU car test.
Yeah it's funny seeing how massive the parking size in US is. The BMW would be pretty much filling the whole space in my parking lot in EU
Exactly. In fact Ford only makes one car model now, the Mustang. GM stopped making cars altogether, their last one being the Chevy Malibu. So it's hilarious when Trump complains that Europe and China doesn't buy American cars-- we don't make cars. The guy is such an idiot. Truck like that in a parking garage is peak pavement princess
Has a gravel driveway and calls it off roading
One of the few times where the BMW driver actually has the bigger dick.
That looks like an old M coupe(maybe Z3 coupe). That is owned by a man or woman of taste.
Z3 coupe, and absolutely gorgeous
They have what seems like a dog fence in the back?
Yes, these were available with a retractable dog fence between the seats and cargo area
Driving a clown shoe with a dog in the back is absolute king shit
The clownshoe is one of the best BMWs ever.
Wheels and tires on truck tell you all you need to know about the person. Also an illegal vehicle to drive with tires extended out past wheel wells, throwing rocks all over cars around them. We need road tax per lb not per gallon.
I like that idea.
I wouldn't assume these types care, or even understand how their actions affect those around them.
The guy on the left has definitely heard the phrase “ is it in” more than once in his life.
It's definitely not in the parking spot that's for sure. I wonder what other spots they have trouble hitting.
100% it's the douchiest vehicle ever. But, that's probably as considerate as you can park that monstrosity.
Not a fan of assumptions but what I am wondering is why anyone would spend all that money on a F-450 and then turn around and spend more money to modify it in a way that reduces it's sole purpose, towing. It’s conspicuous consumption. Nothing else.
It’s the guy equivalent of a $5,000 purse.
“I LIKE MONSTER TRUCKS!” Doesn’t mean people should have them as daily commuters.
Same guy owns both cars.
DIA parking garage lol
Yep, specially the west garage. Instantly recognizable if you’ve parked there!
It was the mountains that first clued me in, then when I saw the tent top I had zero question it was DIA 😂
Make this shit illegal.
The truck should be illegal to drive on public roads. Hazard to other people's lives.
Technically wheels can't stick out past the fenders or flares depending on the state. Some actually enforce it, some don't. So at least they should add some flare extenders.
It's wider than some of the roads I commute on.
It would be illegal in most if not all EU countries because the tires are not allowed to extend past the wheelhouse.
Illegal in most US states also. It is just a question of it being actually enforced.
It's illegal in most US counties as well, as we have the same laws here. Unfortunately it's just not enforced.
It's both a climate hazard, slow, and a safety hazard for pedestrians. Just buy normal car ffs.
Correct. These vehicles are sociopathic. They don’t belong on roads with other drivers, bikes, and pedestrians.
Driver on the left thinks their car goes as fast as the car on the right, and they drive like it too.
I’m glad someone commented on this.
They’re the ones that get so offended if you pass them but they’re usually slower off the light due to the mass
Yet they're also the ones slowly creeping forward the entire time the light is red. Then when it turns green they don't move.
“Twelve feet tall, two lanes wide, twenty-five tons of American pride…”
“Top of the line in utility sports. Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!”
Canyoneroooo
Canyonerooooo!
I'll take the one on the right.
I’m going to the grocery store, anyone want a ton of something?
It’s honestly insane 1. that thing on the left is road legal and 2. you don’t need a special licence to drive it…
I guarantee you that the truck violates multiple laws, and this isn't street legal, but the laws just aren't enforced.
Tires sticking out beyond the fenders, bumper height, headlight height and aiming, overall vehicle width, etc.
A “gender affirming” truck and a sedan.
It's an emotional support vehicle!
Hey it’s Denver!
One of these hauls a single person around normal roads 98% of the time. So does the other one.
Awww, its one of those trucks with child bearing hips!
A BMW parked correctly? This is fake!
Dude on the left is definitely single and blaming women for being single.
And neither one uses their turn signals.
I wish we had parking spaces that big in the UK, the BMW would struggle to park in most of them.
The douchey light bar at the very bottom of the truck bumper is still higher than the headlights of the Z3. I'm so sick of driving around with lights brighter than the sun shining into my eyes. US needs regulation and actual enforcement of both vehicle size and light brightness / location.
…and they each carry the exact same number of people and payload 98% of the time.
Good thing he has that giant light bar for when the power goes out to the mall parking lot lights
