Hello! Me and my girlfriend just booked a 3D2N stay in Boracay (Morning of May 31 - Morning of Jun 2). We snagged a good deal for the flight and hotel as it only totaled to 3k each between us.
Now, as this is a very spontaneous trip and pareho pa lang din kaming students, we'd like to gauge how much our expenses will be for the trip. Ang main lang naman na ipupunta namin sa Boracay ay magrelax sa beach, get a few photos, at mag parasailing– which amounts to 1,800 per person sa Klook– so we won't be going for any big ticket items like island hopping or major souvenir shopping.
How much kaya ang realistic cost ng transportation from the airport to the island and vice versa, food for both days, and pocket money enough for small pasalubong lang. Will 3,000 each (excluded na yung 1,800 na parasailing activity) suffice? Thank you!
Honestly Boracay is a very pricey island even for a quick vacation. So, 3k per person is a really small budget even if you are only going to spend 3D2N there. I suggest to at least increase it to 5k each to have a more laid back and enjoyable experience.
Expect these expenses:
Transfer from Caticlan to Boracay - The cheapest option is DIY which can set you back Php 1k each for a roundtrip transfer consisting of a trike to the port, boat to the island, and another trike to your hotel. You can browse different travel agencies online that may offer this service but for two people it may cost you higher. And a sidenote, since you're leaving on a morning flight, you are better off arranging your transfers in advance via reliable operators. You can find them on klook but they are usually pricier than those agencies you find on facebook or if you DIY.
Hotel/Accommodation - There are cheap accommodations in the island but don't expect to stay at the beachfront. You may have to walk. This may cost you at least another Php 1k each.
Food - Php 1k/day food in Boracay is pretty much penny pinching. There are fastfood (Jollibee, Mcdo, Mang Inasal, etc.) in the island which could save you a little. If you really want to save, there are a lot of small groceries where you can buy food. There's also 7/11. But most of the restaurants there will cost you at least Php 500 per person.
Transport within the island - Trikes are EXPENSIVE. A 1 km ride will cost Php 100 per way no matter the number of people. Since I assume you are young, choose to walk.
Pasalubong - If there's any good thing in Boracay it's that there are a lot of good deals on keychains and other nicknacks. A Php 200 php budget will go a long way as long as you don't plan to buy t-shirts or other big items.
TLDR; Possible to go on a 3k budget but that budget is pretty tight. Will have to compromise mostly convenience which may ruin the entire vacation experience.
Hello! Thank you so much for this.
Accommodation is already booked and will not be deducted from the pocket money— so purely food, transpo, and gala expenses lang talaga. It's also walking distance from the beach and D'Mall, and that's good enough for us.
Food naman, I'm not there to enjoy food (seafood allergy) and we agreed not to eat on fancy restos, so carinderias and fastfood will be enough for us. Transport within the island naman, we'll be sightseeing talaga so walking is our first choice.
With that considered, if excluded sa pocket money namin ang fees from Airport -> Port -> Hotel and vice versa, is our budget feasible?
Life hack para sa pag sakay ng trike if want nyo makamura lagi nyong sasabihin regular lang kayo para 20 lang ang ibabayad per head
Wow, this answer is wrong is so many aspect.
1- transfert (airport hôtel) just diy, total cost round trip all include for 2 : 1350 (shared ride on boracay) or about 1550 if prívate ride on boracay (That's Filipino price. If foreigner, +150php by person). And you can do it at any time of the day or night. Just longer waiting time before 6am for the boat 🤷
3 - Avoid station 2 and the tourist trap restaurant (they are not even good) and you'll see the price of restaurant are not that hight.
4 - So not true. Shared ride start at 15php per person, and unless you go to the end of the island, maximum should be around 30php. And if you really need to go far : use the Aircon hoho bus for 50php per trip + 50php for the card (the first time)
I still stick with my opinion though, 3k is doable but it's a tight budget and at the expense of some convenience. Better increase to 5k per person to enjoy a little more comfort. Boracay is pretty expensive.
the commute from the airport to the port is trike (mga around 50pesos) then environmental fees and fare sa bangka kayo na babayaran before tumawid pa isla around 400 each na yun double that price kasi same cost pag balik pa mainland
then etrikes cost range from 20pesos to 100pesos per person depende sa layo ng destinations na gusto nyong puntahan and kung wala kayong kasama na passengers.
may kamahalan yung souvenirs sa front beach mismo so expect to pay a premium price.
sa food merong andoks / fastfood sa may front beach para makatipid kayo.
honestly mga 4-5k dapat pocket money ninyo each for that length of stay if you want to try some good restaurants pero kasya na din 3k pero dapat willing ka mag lakad and kumain sa fast food for the entire trip

Roundtrip transfer 1300 Transpo 1000 (or 0 if you’ll just be walking along station 1-3 all the time lol) Food and drinks 3000 (or 1500 if 200 / meal so that’s 6 meals for 1200 then 300 for coffee snacks etc)
Yeah at least 5k is better
