Hello everyone!

A recent post has caught my attention regarding AI and its place in perfectly cut screams. Up to this point I hadn’t seen much of any videos predominantly containing AI generated content. As such I hadn’t felt the need to make a rule regarding it, until today.

Having seen a generally unanimous consensus on AI content I’ve placed a blanket ban on all AI as of now while public consensus for a new rule is gathered. The current rule states that posts “... captured or authored by humans.” and while text to speech is permitted currently, “Videos, or imagery with edited in audio, that have been AI generated are not permitted.”

And I’m now look for feedback! Do you have any thoughts, comments, concerns? Do you agree that this rule is good as is, or should it be more strict? I’m open to any and all feedback.

Edit: Added the now more clearly defined rules, thanks in large part to u/EllaHazelBar for the recommendations.
Further clarified post's body text and mentioned the future discussion on TTS. (Expect to see more discussion on TTS once the definitive generative AI rule has been cemented.)

Thank you for your time! And have a happy holidaaaAAAAA-

  • I think the rules are kinda weird as stated. Since animal screams or even inanimate objects making sharp scream-like sounds all get a pass, "primarily human" is kind of bad wording.

I think a better rule would be "Video or imagery generated by AI is not permitted. AI generated sounds are limited to TTS only. Other than that, anything depicted must be captured or authored by humans."

Thank you for the input! Including this now that I’ve had time to think and get feedback… and get a nap after the airport.

Glad I could help! Just clarifying that the reason I included "authored" was to explicitly allow animations, music, skits, etc.

Good phrasing, much clearer, good policy👌

  • NO AI ON MY SCREAMING SUB

  • I don't understand the purpose of allowing TTS. Probably going to have a few posts where the community splits itself arguing if stuff is AI, and whole lot of "I didn't know it was AI". This is going to be a tough one.

Hello, thank you for your input,

I agree on approaching TTS in the future as a topic. Currently I've been allowing good instances of "perfectly cut TTS" since it had fallen in line, cases such as Alexa screaming come to mind, but I will be reopening a poll in the near future once this AI business is tucked away.

I hope to hear your feedback again in the near future!

  • I would just be clear on it, right now it's pretty confusing. Just have a clear rule of no AI. No TTS, or anything like that. The AI voice overs are just annoying. Now the rules can lead to people arguing, or uploading and genuinely thinking it's allowed. Which sucks on both ends, it's not fun to have your post removed when you read the rules think it's allowed.

You just want to read the rules and get a clear answer. Is AI allowed or not?

  • TTS has no place in a subreddit where the audio is the primary aspect. Thats like uploading a mp3 over a jpeg image to a film subreddit. Thats ignoring AI itself being the toxic sucralose of content.

  • Hmm, this post is worded SO weird I had to read it multiple times to get what you're asking.

We just want NO AI, as seen in the other post. This poll is weird and prone to confuse anyone.

Just... Make a rule "NO AI". It's not that difficult.

Edit. "groundwork for a new rule". "the current rule". Which is it? Is the new rule the one you wrote? Or is the old rule already denying AI and you want it to be stronger? I'm not sure what is up and down.

Hello! Thank you for the input, reading back over it I can see why it’s a bit of a mess. I may have been a bit quick to throw up the poll and missed some details. Also did you know polls can only be made on mobile? Very irritating for important posts, besides the point though.

I will take to editing the post for clarification. Thank you again!

  • The less AI, the better. Even TTS pisses me off so much, can't people talk with their own voice? Even moreso in a screaming sub?

  • No ai anywhere.

  • Infinite jihad against machines that think.

  • no AI anything pls

Thank you for your attention to this matter

  • AI content has absolutely no place in a subreddit like this.

  • AI generative technology allows people with limited access to "approved content" to generate it on their own. You guys are being ableist, 100%. Very inappropriate stance from this sub. While I respect the mods for listening to subscriber feedback, this "ban" is completely unenforceable right now, and will be downright impossible as the technology improves. Stupid, virtue signaling nonsense.

Actually, there's.... no, I know the answer. You are just an idiot. A pity you could be out there reproducing.

Do you know what ableist means?

Are you equating the inability to access real content to disability???

    Hello,

After careful rereading of the initial body, I must inquire to the validity of the foundation on the accusation of "ableism." I was unable to see which parts of my post had been ableist. I am aware that some art may be inaccessible to untrained people however, the "art" of screaming and perfectly cutting said screams is very much accessible.

I am attempting to keep my personal bias hidden in this instance, while I do not have a public opinion readily available, I have instated the preferences of the majority. Following up on personal biases, I fail to see a form of virtue signaling present either. I am afraid you may be a bot, and lack humanity yourself, seeing how these are popular buzz words used in bad faith arguments.
