Realistically I’m throwing hands though on this guy. Distraction strikes and an effective take down is all we need. Proper training would alleviate this situation.
The police officers have a right to draw their weapons and use force (deadly) if deemed necessary. I would argue in this case they have every right to defend themselves using their service weapon.
Deadly force triangle: the 3 things you need to be authorized to use dealy force
1. Opportunity: this is satisfied the guy is right on you.
2. Intent: ehh depends on the jury on this one could go either way but cops are given extra lenientcy so doubt the court would say there isn't intent
3 Capability: this is where you have a problem the guy is two on one vs the cops. The chances he could beat a cop to death before the other one stepped in is slim to none. This would be a dirty shot.
That being said Jesus fucking Christ. You are given so many non lethal tools. A baton, pepper spray, tazer, and not to mention these hands. The fact these dorks are letting this guy work them is insane. They seem to not know how to fight. Not good under pressure shit hit the fan and they threw all the training out of the window.

All situations are not the exact same. Different cops different mentalities, training, etc.
Cops aren’t just bloodthirsty robots around black people and compassionate careful beings around white people. It’s just different situations.

Different police departments hire and train to different standards.
Also cops that have to use force more often due to the calls they go to are better in these situations.
It’s all just a spectrum. It’s not “cops are lame.”
Some cops are fuckin supermen and some cops are totally worthless. There is a massive swath of experience and ability in between them.
