• Reflex once against causing stutters is starting to get real tiring. As he says in the video, this isn't the first time we've seen that in games, every single time a game offers reflex I have to test it and check the frametimes because half the time it causes micro stutters. I'd rather turn it off and have +20ms of latency than have micro stutters.

Yeah, this is a huge bummer. Nvidia needs to fix this ASAP. Kind of defeats the purpose of it being available in games.

This bug wasn't caused by a driver update, it was caused by a game update. It's almost always the game programmers who fail to properly implement Reflex, leaving the nVidia programmers to implement a game-specific fix in a driver update.

Several of my single player games it either causes stuttering or even crashes. It's now one of the settings like chromatic aberration, where i immediately think "yeh that stays turned off" when i first start up a new game. I think the only game i own where it doesn't seem to cause a problem is Cyberpunk.

I don't have the issue on a 4090/9800X3D, but I do get the occasional odd day or weird server connection where I'll get desync/stutter/odd fps. Anytime this happens, when I verify game files through Steam it always winds up downloading two small files.

Even doing clean installs it's like every other "game ready" update is in fact, not game ready and causes some sort of conflict.

Do you get consistent stutters or the massive framtime spikes seemingly at random?

Honestly you can avoid using reflex by capping the fps so your gpu usage is below 97 ish and thus isn’t maxing out

  • Like most Unreal Engine games the Cinematic preset is not worth it. In most games even the Epic setting are often not worth it.

Like most Unreal Engine games the Cinematic preset is not worth it.

Like almost every single video game, max settinngs are not worth it FPS wise, FTFY

It depends on what $$$$ you have to throw at it. But, relative value for money Vs FPS Vs visual quality wise, I dont think I have ever seen any other game where tweaking settings did so relatively little for image quality at the cost to FPS of doing it.

Except for lighting. Turns a prop object into part of the world. Your character too.

While this is definitely true, I remember Digital Foundry saying that Arc Raider’s highest settings were actually about what you would expect the medium settings to be in any other game. It doesn’t really matter because the game still looks great at those settings and most people want the better performance anyway, but it does kind of make sense for them to finally add real “high settings” for those who want it

  • I think it's called Cinematic because it's meant for video, not live gameplay.

It’s ironic since in videos on YouTube the compression makes it hard to see any cinematic detail. But during gameplay when it’s actually being created in front of you it’s too hard to run unless you have a titan.

Think very hard for 2 seconds. What does "cinematic" imply? What could be "cinematic"? And why would I correlate it to videos.

You're really not that bright while trying to act smug like a smartass. Hopefully not the trend of your 2026, you stuck up bastard.

Cinematic settings aren't intended for gameplay but for offline rendering. Maximizing the in engine visual fidelity beyond what is a realistic live gameplay use case so you could render video footage at the highest level visually. Video cutscenes, movie projects or hell even gameplay footage during alpha stages of the game where the game is so unoptimized it makes a 5090 look like a x50 tier card trying to run 4K native. All UE4 and UE5 have access to cinematic settings. But guess why the devs limit your in menu settings up to epic or even very high? Because it makes close to no sense to push your fidelity to that high of a level for gameplay. You can of course force it using console commands. I believe UE3 also has it but it maxes out at "Epic" which again, is not available in almost any game.

Hope that clears the waters. Again, think for more than a sec before your next passive aggressive smartass reply.

Videos of the game, like machinimas for example

And Battlefield is a multiplayer FPS game but that never stopped people from creating awesome videos using the spectator modes the older games used to have.

Same goes for the old Halo games. It's so weird to see people like you gatekeeping different ways to play and interact with video games.

    I'm not gate keeping.

    Your comment chain says otherwise.

Any other insults you want to throw out while you're at it?

  • Did they fix the vegetation inconsistencies yet?

Yes. It's mentioned in the video. There's an entire section on it.

  • Interesting

  • Be nice if they’d finally patch console so motion blur stayed off and I didn’t have to manually disable it every fcking time I launch the game

Bro it took them 6 weeks to remove a zip line that let players get outside the map boundary.

lol yeah. Game is holding up the devs but they’re lazy as hell

    Or added frickin HDR...

  • Achievements fixed or they still don't know how?

Epic achievements are fixed. Got some the other day. Finally!

On Steam, two achievements (global tab) still show 0% Either nobody tried getting them or still bugged.

Funny you got downvoted. I know the game is awesome so the devs get a lot of leeway, but for the most part the devs team is incredibly lazy. Super common bugs almost never get fixed, their communication is garbage unless your on Discord and their ticket system is useless.

They are on vacation. They said that they won't be fully back until Jan 2026. I think there is only a skeleton crew working when major issues happen with the servers etc.

I’m all for dev vacations, but they’ve been using the were on vacation since launch. This is like their second or third vacation. And either way, if you sell a product and collect millions, you owe a certain level of responsiveness

  • Barely any difference from Epic to Cinematic. Sure, if you zoom in and stare at an object and compare them you can tell, but who is actually playing like that?

  • Desync got fixed yet ?
