Hi guys, I'm relatively new to this game, got level 15 recently, and something had been bugging me for quite a while.
Every time a sudden temperature shift (from warm to cold) happens, my pain receptors increase in sensitivity by about 4 times, is this a bug or a genetic debuff? Thanks a lot!
Good evening fellow player,
Please accept my congratulations on achieving level 15. This was one of my favorite levels.
As for your current observation, I am happy to report this is not a bug nor a genetic debug. The creator added a fail safe to rapid changes which the player may perceive as pain.
Please understand there are many players currently experiencing this obstacle, and you have all the means to beat this and claim it's reward.
As far as how to overcome this obstacle, I would suggest two things.
First, please be mindful of the medical players. These players are not after your well being, they are after your gold. Second, please understand that the idiom that the game was blessed with many years ago today still rings true: what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Today, it is referred to as Exposure therapy.
Lastly,
Temperature in the game is a real mechanic. It eliminates players, and pushes other players to different areas of the map. Please understand this is by design, and temperature differences causing significant pain should be perceived as such.
I would wish you luck, but you're not going to need any u/Silver-Marzipan7220.

Thanks for the reassurance, have a nice playthrough

Thank you for your kind words, and I hope you have a divine experience in the game.

Hello, I haven't really speced into the [Medicine] tree at all but my grandmother did so I can tell you what I think and give you a bit of advice!
So everything pain related ultimately comes down to either nerves or the brain, in your case I'd wager it is your nerves. Temperature can cause your blood vessels to constrict and warm temperatures can cause them to expand. If I had to guess it is probably related in some way to this applying pressure on your nerves.
I am however, not a [Doctor]. If you experience an abnormally high amount of pain in the cold and it is impacting your life and health I would go see one, otherwise it's just a strange quirk of your body and not something super urgent. I'd encourage at your next yearly(?) checkup with your [Doctor] to ask about it and see what they have to say!
