The current top pp play is a 583-way tie on the 2095 OWC grand finals tiebreaker; all scores are 5mod SS rank worth 99683pp. Deep down, every player still dreams of a day when Cookiezi will come out of retirment and fc Jashin hdhr.
Yup back in the day we had Cookiezi Blue zenith 727pp and that seemed unbeatable at the time. We dont really know what is possible in another 5-10years
mrekks last exit to Brooklyn score probably shows that it is, my logic is that if you can hit all the hard parts individually by some miracle it’s possible to hit all of them consecutively in an fc run. by that logic I’d say a 3k pp play is technically doable but practically impossible for players skills rn but in like 5-10 years it’ll definitely happen
I was gonna say we all said the same thing about 2k pp plays awhile back, we thought the first 1800 pp play was the max, then mrekk just decided we were wrong so we’ll see
Honestly, yes. If someone sets a 3000pp play, chances are it’s on a broken map with ridiculous overweighted mapping. And therefor it will get nerfed to the ground. But honestly, I don’t even see that happening. At least not anytime soon.

Last exit to Brooklyn is already prolly doable in a few years, although it’s loved tbf. Ivaxa could pull some fl shenanigans on the violation or smthn if he tries to, toro could fc humiliation supreme top diff 3 mod in like 5 years, kyouki chinden is prolly doable in a few years, etc. Some of those maps are a little overweighted but I don’t think any of them are “broken” per se, so yeah I could see a play of that level being possible
Because Maybe pt 3.1 + DT SS is 4,648.29pp. I don't see anything that makes an FC strictly impossible for a hypothetical mrekk/ivaxa monstrosity, just extremely fucked up to do

No there have not been any. Other scores would've been pp records instead otherwise. All of these scores were easier than other scores that would be worth the same amount which is why they happened and those others did not.

Those pp records were pp records because they were overweighted maps within their skillsets. What this means is that for a player that was capable at those skillsets, those maps were worth more than other maps in the same skillsets that were similar difficulty. This will always inherently be true. A pp record being buffed also doesn't mean it wasn't overweighted. It can mean that new maps appeared that were more overweighted and they're trying to keep some balance between those.
Again, those maps were still overweighted WITHIN THEIR SKILLSET compared to other maps AT THE TIME.

When Lazer ranks rate change I bet there will be some very abusable stuff there. Given the current meta of the game with the current maps and pp system we have now, it is impossible to get a 3k pp play.

Of course it’s not impossible. Do you really think songs comp and sidetracked day 8 bit is the skill requirement to break into 2k. Of course not, farm is only getting more optimised and in 2025 high BPM aim farm is completely normal. We’ve gone from 300-330bpm being the alleged skillcap to 3/4 digits tapping 375bpm DT alt/slop maps and tapping reaching the 400bpm mark. The osu skill ceiling is still years away from even close to reaching. Mrekk and toro both have raw ability to get a 3k from aim and tapping just a matter of time a map becomes available ranked
On [REDACTED] server there are already 4k pp plays on relax, i suspect that if we will have maps like that ranked that we can have 3k or even high 2k pp plays. The maps im talking about are those song comps marathon maps
