How much is everyone paying for homeowners insurance? This year mine increased from $2150 to $2650. 3 bed house in Apopka. I think I am getting ripped off.
There are so many things that impact cost that are specific to not only the home itself (age of home, age of roof, woodframe versus cinder block construction) but also your own personal history of past claims (your Insurance Score)
Thats about in the lower 25% of policies I service in cost in the Orlando area. Median would be in the 3000s, but everyone is entitled to their opinion on whether they feel it's fair. The question is is there any other option for you?
Who do you have as a carrier? If it's citizens I would just stop right here.
When was your roof last replaced? Do you have a recent 4point or wind mitigation in order to shop?
What are your deductibles?
Is your plumbing or water heater old?
Carrier is florida family insurance. Roof replaced 2021. 4 point and wind mit last year. Dont know about deductible but i chose the cheapest for everything. Water heater 2 years old. Whole house repiped 2019
talk to your agent, they literally have tools called raters that will pull rates for you with every carrier they're appointed with. what's cheap for one person may not be cheap for you
who's your carrier? what are your coverages like? do you have replacement cost on your roof? this is pretty average imo but it really depends on so many factors
1850 SF House near Casselberry. I saw my premium increase from $2500 in 2022 to 3500 in 2023 and hovering around 4500 the last 2 years. But I can't complain. Look at all of the help we have gotten from our state legislators and governor. I was born here and used to love this state. Now it's a living hell
$4,850 for 4,000 sq ft, with pool in Clermont. Built in 2021. I have a mold claim from 2 years ago when living in dirty jerz, driving up the price considerably. Once that falls off I should be down.
Our primary home is in Clermont, house built in 1990 but we moved in this year. Pool, 1,800 square foot, near Lake Minnehaha and our homeowners insurance is $2,299.
Our home we're renting out, we're paying almost $3,000. No pool, 1,500 square foot in unincorporated Altamonte Springs.

$2650 is average if not low for the area.
a few questions... do you have a pool? how many square feet? how old is the roof?
I'm in apopka and pay more, but i have a pool and 2900 sq ft.
No pool, 1450sqft, roof 3 years old

insurance score also factors in credit score so that could be an issue as well

You have a good rate. If you feel ripped off then you may need to look elsewhere for savings.
Ok where?
talk to your agent, they literally have tools called raters that will pull rates for you with every carrier they're appointed with. what's cheap for one person may not be cheap for you

call your agent and ask them! they work for you!
Instead of asking how much ask what percentage of your home’s value are you being charged.
Because something like $4k would probably be alot for a $300k home but probably dirt cheap for a $800k one.
$5,000 for 4/2, 2400sqft in sodo
