Tl;dr: I was an idiot high on tech money a few years ago, burned $7000 on importing a fancy recovery tool from China, and never actually set it up. Figure it's for the best if somebody else actually puts it to good use.
My more normal donations go to "Out of the Closet", but this is... Unusual.
Edit: To be clear, this is intended for non-profits, not private individuals. Thank you.
I wonder if you could donate it to the VA i know a bunch of veterans who would love to try it.
I know a veteran who had this therapy so the VA is probably a good way to go
This is 100% something to email them about, if you need a good email let me know. Don't just drop it off. It'll go to a healthcare facility, so it's best to see which one you can drop it off at.
I know you probably mean OP by “you” but you’re replying to me so I’m confused now 😅
I did, I'm a very silly bean, sorry.
What an interesting post.
Pics?
Here are the details: https://www.zoy-tech.com/product/zoy-1-5ata-soft-type-hyperbaric-chamber/
It's still in the original packing from them. Again, I was an idiot.
This may be an out of the box suggestion but maybe reach out to wound care clinics? They actually sometimes have legitimate uses for them
I don’t know if yours would qualify as medical grade but worse they say is no
Considering medical grade ones are usually well over $100k and at least like $50k...I'm gonna guess it'll be a hard pass from them. I'm guessing for $7k OP's is probably inflatable.
Correct, it's inflatable. This is mild HBOT, up to 1.5 ATM, not the 2ATM hard shell medical ones.
Absolutely fair I am not well versed in this and just trying to brainstorm lol
Kenmedsurgical.com is local and they buy/sell medical equipment. Maybe reach out to them?
Contacted them. Worst they can do is say no. Thank you.
Thanks for donating to OOTC, I wish more people would donate to them rather than Goodwill etc.
Sorry but I got a chuckle out of this. I have questions but id honestly like to keep them unanswered.
I was an idiot and was afflicted with a CrossFit addiction at the time, hence wanting anything in terms of athletic recovery help.
The fact that you own up to it is impressive and I have to give you kudos lol. Good on you though for trying to take care of yourself! Maybe contact a hospital or orthopedic center in the area for advice or leads on who may be in the market.
I laugh because its something I would do albeit not as expensive. Convince yourself "Hey. This is a really great fucking idea!" Then you see the fruits of your labor and realize you made a not so wise decision.
Been there and will probably be there again in the not so distant future.

You could call stepping stones, its a medical equipment bank for seniors/low income. Near Millenia. 407-649-4100
Super interesting. How hard is it to set up? Besides some of the other things people have mentioned, there are probably lots of other small businesses/people that train high level athletes and would probably love this
My wife pays for her father to use hyperbaric therapy, it helps with his cognitive health after a stroke 5 years ago. Insurance won’t help with the costs. She sometimes does sessions to help with psoriatic arthritis as well. Would love to have a unit to help my wife feel better.
Check with local scuba shops. Maybe they can use it for decompression sickness.
Contact some of the larger animal rescues that also do wound care.
Was hyperbaric therapy some kind of fad thing? Cuz I wouldn’t trust myself to have a personal one and not create a BIG badaboom…
Seems risky, best to call a clinic who helps seniors and children instead of a person.
Still is. A poor 5-year-old burned to death in one a year ago because a quack said it would treat his ADHD
I was going to correct you and say it was autism but then I looked it up and there have been multiple neurodivergent children murdered by doctors with these. A child can’t have autism if they’re dead, so hey, there’s that!
It’s used to prevent scuba divers from getting the bends I think… that’s the only medical benefit that immediately comes to mind
They use it for people with complicated wounds as well but a real one- not an inflatable one
What happened to your blood boy?
any wellness or medical aesthetics place with a cold plunge would probably take it.
You could talk to UCF and see if there are researchers who would like to use it. Often, patients may get treatment for free (or even get paid) to do a study. I think UCF also does space/astronaut research and I think they these chambers are part of astronaut recovery programs.
If you need any help finding a number to call at Lake Nona VA or one of their outpatient clinics just let us know. I think a few people on the thread, me included, could help if you’re having trouble.
On a different note, if VA shuts you down, there are plenty of wound care clinics out there who use them.
I know this is an Orlando post, but may I suggest donating it in to organizations in the Keys? The only hyperbaric chamber for this dive capital is in Tavernier or on base (which civilians have no access to). As you can imagine, this would be so great for the diving community there. Pm me and I’d be happy to help you find a home for it there!
Hi can you donate it to my yoga studio?
You bought a fkn hyperbaric chamber? 😭
