The PCs shifted their traditional conservative stance on being a vassal state of Britain to being a vassal state of the USA and we’ve been a steadily on that track for the last 40 years. Things have only gotten worse in the last twenty years with the PC merging with Refrom into the modern CPC. Harper showed that the CPC will sell off anything they can to foreign capital if given the opportunity. When people (at least me) say Carney is a traditional PC they don’t mean he is like Harper or Mulroney they mean he is like Joe Clark, Steinfeild, and Diefenbaker.

Carney can legit take the mantle of fiscal conservative which is what the federal party was all about (at least as far as I could see growing up and im in my 40s now). I grew up ina conservative ethnic community and snapped out of it once Harper (so as others have said, the Reform party) took over. I can never in good conscience vote Conservative again because their policies are.... unhinged, as is the majority of their most fervent base. They are losing MPs to Carney because people are slowly waking up to what PeePee is and what he cant do.
They need to purge the party of maple maga, come up with real policies that could actually help the majority of Canadians, re-affirm a connection to Canadian Sovereignty, stop catering to just Alberta (gonna be honest, I don't give a crap about the pipeline and think we should stop giving money to big corporations without stringent safe guards) and firmly reconnect with the Canadian identity rather then catering to Americans.
