I braved it for you: “That quick wave to a driver who stopped at the crosswalk looks trivial, almost automatic. Psychologists now argue it reveals a specific mindset, shaped by gratitude, empathy and attention to the present moment.”
So the article was talking about the mindset of the person waving? I wanna know the synopsis of the effects it has on the person in the car who decided to stop for the person 😆
I always wave when crossing the parking lot with a car that stopped for me, so I already know what goes through my mind when I do it haha. I'm more curious if the driver is indifferent, barely hanging on to their patience waiting for me to cross (I'm not slow), or get a little dose of dopamine from the acknowledgement - that's what I want to know! I stop for ppl too when I'm the driver, but I never really paid attention to my mindset when they wave, but I think I notice when they don't wave/ acknowledge at all. But I think I'm usually indifferent when the person walking is indifferent. But I'm still curious of the average!
That's a Swedish "No entry" sign that's red with a yellow bar. The car is also a Volvo, which doesn't really prove anything, but it does fit the theme.
I'd guess this image might be AI generated, as you noted, the sign placement makes no sense at all. It should either be at the start of the road or after the intersection.

Oh god.
That's a crucial comment right there.

Don't go to behavioral psychology for answers. That field is a load of bullshit and rife with academic fraud.
I was just being temporarily and openly curious; nothing deep 🤣
Thanks, but wow what a study. Next you'll be telling me screaming at children is associated with hostile personalities.
Dead internet theory gets closer and closer to reality every day.
What god awful dog shit
This site kept redirecting me to several different articles wtf is this SEO garbage
Photographer is sitting in a car.
The photographer is on the wrong side of the road then.
No, photographer is on the correct side. Everyone else is just on the wrong one.
Anyone that says facing the red sign with the white line means you’re going the wrong way has obviously never driven before.
No I this dude is just British or Australian
Well now I'm curious what it strongly is?
right! I always wave 'thank you' when I cross and I need to know what strongly I am
You are strongly nice.
Strong glad
strongly associated with specific personality traits. Which sounds like "people who watch football tend to be sports fans."
im more interested in the detachable hub
Pretty sure that photo was taken in Germany (Berlin?). And drivers are obliged to stop for pedestrians at zebra crossings.

I think the plate is italian
Photo? Or LLM?
God the amount of walking I do, it would be exhausting to have to wave at every driver just so they don’t kill me.
I think that given the ad, this was in the UK where cars drive on the left.
Why is þat article everywhere
This is probably how many people go through life
Thank you for being patient and not causing a head on collision as you're driving on the wrong side of the road! Good bye now!
Traffic drives both ways bro
No it doesn't, see the prohibited direction sign.
I saw that after writing it, but then thought, why is it not at the beginning of the road instead of right in front of a new side road.

My thought exactly.
i think that's a two way straight bro
What if you are like me and wave at the driver but don’t actually look at them? What does that tell you?
