Think it’s just a difference of soft opening while they work out kinks and finish the resto and official grand opening. They’ve had shows in the theater this year and did something for NBA all star weekend in the arena, but I think they’ve still been working on the building and have had construction fences around the perimeter. Hopefully now theyll start having bigger events more frequently and take the fences down.
I was there to see The Roots back in August, but it was incredibly awkward with the fence still surrounding it. I tried to walk in by the lake then had to double back to the museum.
Pleasant memories of seeing the Dead there in 80s wandering through the hallways and such. My friend purchased a sheet of blue windowpane from a guy in a tie dye suit top hat and all.
Heads up - the date is Jan 2025 - either it already happened in January of this year or they got it wrong on the website and someone should let them know.
I thought it already officially opened as they were having events there.

That makes sense
Probably private events for donors or something.

They need to start throwing raves there ASAP

Tickets for the evening event are $97? I’ve been wanting to go to an event there, but at that price won’t be this one :/
$100 is the new $20
Everything costs at least $100 these days.
Dog Man the musical starts at $38.50. The $97 opening evening event has Don Reed, a magician, dessert, and music—not too shabby imo.
Yay!
I want to go to the skate event on the Friday of opening weekend and have no one to go with. Anyone else wanting to go?
Whoa I remember when we tried to occupy the Kaiser Center!
