Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s pick for director of appointments, Catherine Almonte Da Costa, resigned Thursday — one day after her appointment — after antisemitic posts from over a decade ago were uncovered.

It comes as antisemitic attacks have made recent headlines, and some Jewish New Yorkers say they worry about their safety in a Mamdani-run New York.

The mayor-elect has made attempts to reassure Jewish New Yorkers, including vocally supporting the Hidden Voices curriculum to teach the city’s public school students about Jewish-American history.

Mark Treyger, CEO of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York — which played an instrumental role in planning and implementing the Jewish-American history curriculum — joined “Inside City Hall” to discuss the upcoming administration.

Treyger is also a former council member and former senior Department of Education official.
