Siding with the Jets here, Every kicking contest excludes any professionals in the sport from participating and includes coaches. It sucks but most of these giveaways are insurance policy backed and the company won't pay if they discover the participant violates the policy.
Sure this sucks for her - but contests like this have very stringent rules that the organizations must obey. That she didn't read them before she applied or whatever isn't on the Jets.
Edit: I'm not blaming her - but legally the rules are the rules and the Jets aren't going to bend them because it opens them up to a liability they don't want. PR wise they should donate something in her name to something - but they're not going to change their decision. Contests and sweepstakes rules and terms exist to protect the participant as much as the team.
the rules prohibited recent players and coaches from Olympic, college, and high school soccer, rugby, and football teams.
She can claim that she didn't know, but the Jets legal position is that the terms and conditions are published and available and that by entering she was agreeing to abide by them. This is entirely so the Jets don't have to pay out. That's how these contests work.
The Jets asked her if she played soccer and her college career wasn’t an issue. They should have asked about coaching at the outset. They let her get this far and then pulled the rug out from under her. The Jets have plenty of lawyers and staff to prevent this kind of thing from happening. It’s ridiculous to expect a layperson whom they recruited to read a whole litany of rules and legalese when the team asked her to participate in the first placed.

You agree to legalese of terms and conditions all the time without reading them. And they didn't "ask her" - she applied. Yes, it sucks for her and it sucks it got that far.
That website is abysmal, good lord trying to read that was like having an aneurysm
Not that the Post's is better but its at least legible. https://nypost.com/2025/12/25/us-news/jets-cancel-invite-to-super-fan-set-to-take-100k-field-goal-challenge-in-honor-of-dad/
She didn’t win. She wasn’t allowed to compete, as per the rules. Nothing was “ruined”.

Yeah but what could this particular rule be?
"Can't be associated with any athletic program"
As if they just want average joe's to get off the couch to do this or something
According to the Jets the rules state:

But they're not changing their decision.
I hear you and we all know the story about the dude who made that half court shot at the Bulls' game. Can only hope the Jets do right.
They will do the bare minimum to clean it up from a PR perspective. I assume they'll donate something to someone.
Oh no, think of the billionaires! The NFL, the Jets, and owners from Johnson and Johnson.
We cant have the chance of someone helping raise the next generation have any hope.
The fuck does any of this have to do with NYC?
Teaches in Long Beach, fan of the Jets.
