So many cool things came from and started in NYC. The iconic Yule log on tv is just one but is extra special this time of year. Thanks to local station WPIX for keeping this 🔥 going so long and offering it to everyone on Christmas day from 9am to 1pm.
If there's anything we can all bond over in winter it's this. Enjoy!
Growing up in the 70's, this was on every Christmas Eve. We'd take the color tv out of my mother's room and set it up on a table in the livingroom, then came the rabbit ear adjustment.
We'd mess with the antenna so the static became a gentle light snow, then make the signal worse and worse till the fire went out in a blizzard. We got really good at it.
All fun and games with Yule Log, but our parents got pissy when we snowed out Dick Cavett.
We only had the one tv, nd that was in my mother's room. My brother and I had to find other ways to amuse ourselves after my mother got home. He either had his GF over, or they went out, I did my homework and went to bed
A merry Christmas to all r/nyc posters! Even the ones who disagree with me and my political views 🎄🎄🎄
The best one is on Adult Swim
LOL surprised they weren’t airing it this year! :( hopefully it doesn’t get forgotten in a few years
I watch every year. Great to out on in the background for some Christmas music
