I’m currently waiting to enter session 1 in Jan and I’ve been looking over the 5 year pay bumps going on and how much they’re increasing.
A lot of the figures state it’s base pay and before allowances or OT. I’m wondering if there’s set rates for these actual allowances and what they fall under? I assume there’s the general ones such as uniform allowance and maybe for rural placement but what else?

There is a general service allowance (11.5% of base) which is generally built into the advertised pay scales in the Award. The 'base wage' is simply there for overtime payment calculations and is rarely highlighted or advertised (not because it's secret, but because every officer receives the loaded salary).
General Duties' primary allowance that increases their take home pay is shift allowance which is based on whether it's a day, afternoon or nightshift. It's a per-hour increase. GDs work half of all their shifts as nightshifts.
As per the Award, overtime is paid at 1.5x base wage for the first two hours and then 2x base wage for hours after that. Public holidays are paid at OT rates. There is no difference in pay between working a week day or weekend. Depending on where you work depends on how much OT there will be. In general, OT will be fairly limited in your first year. After being confirmed you will have access to additional opportunities.
Here's the award if you want to look at the available allowances. You'll see that most of them are for specialist sections, not general duties.

If you do not want to click on unknown doc files, then search for 'CROWN EMPLOYEES (POLICE OFFICERS - 2024) AWARD'
If you’re after the exact rates (e.g. night shift loading per hour or specific uniform allowance figures), these are all listed in the Crown Employees (Police Officers) Award - that’s the full industrial instrument that governs pay and entitlements, which is publicly available.
Thanks for the info, can you guys confirm when the salary will also be updated to the current year?
