They avoid not just the spoon, but bottom 4 entirely, for the first time in half a decade, and things somehow get worse in the organisation? I've seen people talk about how it's salvageable; clear out the older folks who are still insurmountably attached to their parent team from the merger. But, even if I admire Tigers fans who still want to persist, I couldn't blame any Tigers fans who don't have enough time to keep up with all the drama/failed problem-solving for wanting to jump ship, at least temporarily.
Hell, even if they do have enough time to keep up with it, read the articles etc, could you blame them for wanting to give up anyway? At what point does it become completely unreasonable to expect loyalty when it never gets repaid? Even worse, when it finally starts getting repaid, it gets grabbed right back.
The amount of leaking to the media that comes out of the Tigers club is shameful. It really feels like those with power in the club care more about solidifying their own fiefdoms and engaging in petty political squabbles than they do about the welfare of the club. It is hard enough staying a Manly supporter with their infuriating shenanigans, I couldn’t imagine the frustration that Wests Tigers fans feel being bombarded with story after story especially after their improvement this season. Tigers fans have lived through enough misery over the last few years to last them a lifetime, I wouldn’t blame them if they needed a rest.
Penn has pulled the bar so low we basically consider it a win to avoid the bottom four.
Our signings/retention are mediocre at best (landing Fogarty was a miracle), and it just seems like the current people in the coaching offices aren’t getting the team nearly motivated enough to be competitive.
Unless we can snatch a big name forward in 2027 (it baffles me that we didn’t go after Koloamatangi), we’re in for some distressing years from 2027 onwards.
Yeah, I don't know the details, but Manly supporters seem very frustrated. And just think, your last grand final victory? That was 2 weeks after the last time they played a final. Your premiership drought is technically shorter than their finals drought, and look at the patience and leniency Tige fans still extend.
Even if they have the u19s player of the year in their juniors, who plays that position, but maybe just needs the final touches put on to ease into first grade.
