Was looking to pre-order the Esquire plush from
Expedition 33, but the shipping costs $62. The plush costs $69. Are we serious? Shipping $7 less than the actual product? It’s insane.
Anyone know the best way for Aussies to watch the College Football Finals?
Also the NFL has been so good this season, such a good viewing experience. NFL and NRL truely feel like the games closest to each other, the way they defend space, the big hits, the way the sport of packaged, I love it.
Finished watching the David Duchovny show Malice last night. Not sure how to feel about the ending, I hung in for so long waiting for the bad guy to get his comeuppance, he certainly deserved it.
What the hell is the heat batting Pierson so low down in the batting line up? He has been killing it grade cricket and the winter T20 comp for Redlands - huge mistake
I had my first one at age 32, then had a really bad one at 34... Like couldnt move for 2 weeks.
There's a list a mile long of shit that can cause it, but it's mostly just generalisations. Some people are effected by some things and others not.
I went away at the start of the year and consumed pretty much exclusively beer and prawns for a solid week - 0 gout issues. months later eating healthy, going to the gym and no alcohol at all - bam! gout.
Basically, look for the first warning sign and take immediate action from there.
My condolences, from what I've read/heard around gout it sounds horrible.
Most approaches seem to be to reduce uric acid formation and thats mostly through diet and good hydration.
Beer is unfortunately especially problematic as the purines from yeast can block clearance of uric acid.
If it gets more frequent you might want to look in to home testing for uric acid levels so that you can get a personal guide for when to get stricter with diet.
It's a shame because isn't it permanent? My brother in law had it in his 20's and drank alcohol and Coca cola only..a bit reason I stopped drinking soft drink.
Not 100% sure but yes think it’s more or less permanent, luckily there are ways to manage it. For me, I don’t drink soft drink, will maybe have 2 beers, don’t eat tomato, much seafood, all that stuff that usually triggers it so there’s a bit of genetic component.
Haven’t seen my usual doctor about it yet, but I meant it more in the way of if I have beer (once a fortnightly usually), it’ll be 2 maximum. My diet is mostly fine a that’s really the only thing to change with it, so if I’m recommended to cut it out of the diet, I’m fine with that.
If you didn’t know me and saw me you wouldn’t think it but I am currently 23 months into my weight loss journey and sitting at 45kg down still have 15kg to go but it now seems attainable. Though going to easy up coming into the holiday system.
A couple of random thoughts: getting to the stage where it’s noticeable even to myself. I think you won’t see the difference in yourself until a long time after others. It’s the same when you put on the weight. But starting to see people haven’t seen in awhile and getting complimented on the loss and still don’t really know how to respond. Just saying thank you and I’m trying.
My relationship to food and the scale has changed a lot. I was a big binge eater and still have my moments but don’t get anywhere near the satisfaction of it. It will be interesting to see how that is going into Christmas. Might suck but getting on the scale daily really opens your eyes and gives a better understanding on your body. I now no longer ride the wave of emotion of seeing it barely move down or if it goes up. You learn how it fluctuates and you may not see a weekly progress but you will see a monthly and yearly progress.
It’s annoying how true it is but exercise for your mental health is real. The first 35kg was just from daily movement and better eating. The last 10 I have added going to the gym and weights. You may not want to hear it but the mental gets better
I guess what I’m trying to say is if you are thinking about a change just do it. Doesn’t have to be big, making it small might make it more sustainable. Just start by adding a 5 minute walk to your day and build up. You will feel better.
That's so good to read mate. Most people take years to get to such a positive mindset as you have, especially around better eating and not watching the scales.
Today seems to be D-day for all the nutcase hard right wingers blaming this on the PM for some reason? Basically the white version of fundamentalist Islam btw
These absolute ghouls can't even compute that the people protesting against the murder of innocent people over there would be against the murder of innocent people over here.

Just saw the footage of that Ahmed bloke disarming that terrorist fuckwit. What a legend.

my first season properly trying to get into the NFL and i’m enjoying it. wish more of the games were on at better times for us like the NBA though

Your answer’s in your own comment, it’s the heat, we’re lucky they selected him at all
Have just recovered from my first ever flare up of gout, definitely top 2 of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced. Getting old (29) sucks.
Had it for 20 years and it sucks absolute anus.
Best thing I ever did a couple of years ago was transition onto a daily preventative. It was hell at first, but now I don't get attacks anymore.

Is your doctor cool with that? I love a coupla beers but I don’t think it’d be worth having microscopic needles in my synovial fluid.

Oh I thought you meant per day, if it’s once in a while I imagine it’d be fine
That’s what I mean, I’m young still but getting this stuff makes me feel older
The Brisbane Heat are hopeless. Afridi bowling 2 dangerous deliveries and having to get an innings suspension is rank
He's a great cultural fit for the BBL. It was a peak meme effort.
I think we're missing a few bowlers due to injury and Neser with the test squad.
Solid batting performance though.

Nice work brother. I’m about 12 kg in 9 months and I agree it’s working by making small but noticeable changes to eating and moving habits.
Thanks for sharing mate! Unreal story, proud of you mate! I lost 20kg and it has honestly done way more for the mental than physical health.
incredible effort mate

I’m horrified that the Murdoch press are seemingly blaming anyone who is pro-Palestine. It seems that some also now want to ban criticism of Israel.
Mind you, the guys who committed the attacks were literal Islamic State believers. They aren’t even pro-Palestinian.
In fact, Hamas and IS hate each other so it's especially silly to claim that the attackers were pro-Palestinian

Those ghouls don’t care that people died and families were torn apart. They just want to score political points.
But his Joy Division t shirt!
Yep the unity messaging lasted all of about 12 hours.
Classic fascist doublespeak
