My birthday is tomorrow. Weather is looking good and I plan on biking a mile for every year I've been around.
Then it's continuing the job search marathon. With the weather changing and after so many rejections, it's made unemployment that much more bleak. But I need to keep moving forward.
Happy birthday! Tough draw for a birthday, one of my kids has one today. May you have no combined birthday/christmas presents and may all your birthday gifts be in birthday wrapping paper!
Both, but not alcoholic drinks, as these days we are tea totalers. LOL.
We generally try different culture's cuisines during the Holidays, last year we did Norwegian. Very good overall but the Lutefisk was not a smell my wife enjoyed. She has a highly developed sniffer!
It started a few years back with a Danish year and focusing on Hygge, their 'cozy winter comfort.' One year we did Hannukah food, including a big order shipped from Katz deli.
This year Ukrainian.
Thinking bunuelos from Columbia/Ecuador next year, but we'll see!
I mean, the factory isn't going to build itself! Well maybe later when you have construction drones. I'm going to start a new game next week after my family leaves.
I have been turning my shed into a wood working shop. Tomorrow the plan is the finish the insulation and start sheeting the walls with OSB. I’m going to dread cutting all the electrical boxes though.
I have a couple of friends from out of town visiting so I’ll be meeting up with them. Posting this reminded me that I haven’t actually finished making plans yet 😅
Rockabilly Christmas Concert (Jamming Java) in Vienna tonight. Pre Christmas brunch at Filomena's restaurant Saturday. Gym workouts at Spenga Saturday and Sunday.
Not much. Hanging with the kids until they have to leave on Saturday afternoon. Then a date with my sofa and a movie or show. Hopefully a Sunday morning hike, then another date with my sofa to watch the Steelers game.
The super nice foil I ordered arrived so this weekend I'm making foil prints of the Wassail! Racoon (inspired by cookies and the poor fellow who went ham in the ABC). After doing a bunch of test prints and trial runs of the foil process I think I've got the settings for the whole process in the right place. (My real limit is colored cardstock.) Between that and my computer shenanigans it's been A Project.
I think Sunday we're gonna try for a quiet day in, watch the new Knives Out while snacking on Jingle Jangle.
Got a gig in Leesburg tonight. Tomorrow going into the belly of the beast (Tyson’s) for Xmas shopping, coming home to watch Christmas Vacation. Egg nog, bourbon etc
Party, Festival of Lights, and shit talking coworkers about the JMU game. The Dukes may lose on the field, but I think the shit talking teams have won the hearts of millions.
We've been so busy the past couple of weekends, we are doing nothing. We will stay home and enjoy the holiday decorations. Depending on the weather tomorrow we might go check out the Stratford in Falls Church.
Football tomorrow (Go Birds!), and hopefully finish up Black Orchid (we just started Season 4 - no spoilers please).
working. Today's shift will mark 34 days straight, excluding holidays, and excluding both Christmas eve and day, I still have another 5 days ahead of me, even more. Haven't had a day off since November 16th
well, one of our best coworkers quit about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and work had to call people and have them come in to replace that one's shifts. So I volunteered myself to work every day until hours get cut. And I'm arguably the most vital member of the stockroom team. I know how to process everything, stock everything as well as being the muscle of the team, and the entire system of unloading a truck, to the point where I'm the backroom leader's right hand person
Funny enough, listening on the radio now to a reviewer and 3:15 hrs and apparently he said he thinks it was so long several people left and never came back during the movie. Visually nice but the story is similar to the last movie. I can’t explain it but it pops out as one of the few movies that I just was completely disappointed. Enjoy because everyone is different.
Being annoyed that our boss hasn’t given out our christmas bonuses yet (we usually get them early December) and frantically trying to figure out how to get peoples gifts without it for the time being.

Enjoy your ride and good luck with the search!
Good luck on your ride and its the time of year for miracles. Wish you luck!

Happy Birthday! Good luck with the job stuff. It's a slog out there.
Happy birthday!
Thanks neighbor 🤝
Happy holidays to you
'Something about avatar.'
Probably gift wrapping, doing a few last second decorations, and watching British sitcoms with my wife.
Also definitely trying out some new recipes for the fam.
Drink or food recipes?
Both, but not alcoholic drinks, as these days we are tea totalers. LOL.

Sounds like fun!
Scheming how to prevent my fed boss from making my life more retaliatory hell. But nothing avatar.
Fingers crossed for you.
Thanks. I’ll likely continue to get royally fucked but hey, they’ve been doing it for years now despite my excellence.
Right there with you.
Flying to Oregon to watch the Dukes go duck hunting!
Hoping the Dukes stick everyone and get the W! I'll be watching the game at the bar with a few friends and fellow Dukes!
Official Watch Party?
Nothing official still deciding on which bar
I'd love for JMU to win, but...
Go Dukes! 💜💛
Hershey Bears game and Christmas with the girlfriend. Hoping for a much better game this time around.
Playing in an improv comedy show at the VFW in Arlington tonight (Friday) at 7.
Smokin
Attending a concert at the Washington National Cathedral, placing flowers on graves of family members.
Enjoying my last few days of vacation before I return to the cold next week!
Maybe playing Factorio or Diablo 4
I mean, the factory isn't going to build itself! Well maybe later when you have construction drones. I'm going to start a new game next week after my family leaves.
How’s factorio? I was considering getting that or satisfactory, or both
Factorio has a free demo out on Steam, I would highly recommend it. I stayed up way past my bedtime last night playing.
I read it’s even fun for casual / not hardcore gamers?
I mean it’s free, so what do you have to lose?
its fun but has a steep learning curve. Wish there was a tutorial

taking toddler to see santa, trying to finish yardwork
Rockabilly Christmas Concert (Jamming Java) in Vienna tonight. Pre Christmas brunch at Filomena's restaurant Saturday. Gym workouts at Spenga Saturday and Sunday.
Not going to see Avatar. (do I still get bonus points?)
At least you thought about it (I’m not seeing it this weekend either 😂).
Watching avatar at udvar hazy tomorrow and football on sunday!
Amazing! I was too late to get the good seats at Udvar-Hazy so I’m seeing it next weekend.
Same, going Sunday.
Stacking firewood
More shopping and Christmas Friends Brunch on Saturday
Where will you be having brunch?
We do it annually at a friend's house. I need to decide what to make.
Leaving lol
Last minute christmas shopping since somehow christmas is already next week 😭

Hell yeah brother #herewego

Brunch with a friend downtown, then going to the Caps game.
Never seen any avatar movie, but is this thing on? Is more up my alley based on current life events 😆
Got a gig in Leesburg tonight. Tomorrow going into the belly of the beast (Tyson’s) for Xmas shopping, coming home to watch Christmas Vacation. Egg nog, bourbon etc
Thievery Corporation at 9:30 club, excited to say the least.
That sounds great.
Not going to see Avatar (bonus points pleeeease), but maybe going to see Zootopia 2 again.
Also have tickets to see The Nutcracker at GMU tonight.
Going to watch JMU hopefully not get massacred by Oregon.
Party, Festival of Lights, and shit talking coworkers about the JMU game. The Dukes may lose on the field, but I think the shit talking teams have won the hearts of millions.
Staying home. Not contributing to traffic.
We're in Vegas. Gonna hit up Golden Tiki later.
Reading the book Heated Rivalry because I cannot wait a whole week for the next episode

Trying to grow the vending machine business, it’s a challenge
For anyone with kids, there is a live nativity at Burke Town Plaza 10-2 Saturday.
Really it's just a camel and some goats but worth killing a half hour.
working. Today's shift will mark 34 days straight, excluding holidays, and excluding both Christmas eve and day, I still have another 5 days ahead of me, even more. Haven't had a day off since November 16th
How long will you have off after this?
no idea. don't know the next 2 weeks of schedules.
That’s terrible.

Great Falls hike whilst listening to my kids sing 6-7 and then back to brewing more beer.
Having one of the worst weeks of my life. Mount Vernon Christmas Illuminations and some OG pancake house paired with a good workout tomorrow.
Drove from nova to LA in 37 hours. Wasn’t fun but I’m glad I made it

The most common way
I watched Avatar Way of the Water this weekend :)
Recovering from Vertigo
Vertigo is awful. Hope you’re back on your feet soon.
The feeling is as pleasant as hugging a cactus, I am much better thank you !
I was so disgusted over the last Avatar I have no interest in seeing another one. Such a terrible movie.
It was no T2, that’s for sure. I’m going to see the new one anyway but I didn’t rush out to see it on opening weekend like I did the last time.

Ok, sure.
Avatar is a souless and shallow franchise with almost no cultural impact.
I'll take my bonus points now...
