Oh I still have mine from my grandmother but I think I like the Ritz crackers tin she gave me a little more. She always refilled these tins and never kept them in boxes.
I moved into her home a couple of years ago to support her plan for aging in place. She's 83, I'm 56, we haven't lived together since I was 20 years old.
This tin was being used as a bookend on a shelf with the cookbooks. After I moved in, I had to shift a few things around to make room for a few of my things. I grabbed the cracker tin and nearly dropped it — it was so heavy. She was keeping a brick inside.
I take out the brick, put in four sleeves of saltines, and put the tin on the counter next to the breadbox. Cool, right? Because now there's a little bit more room on the bookshelf and I cleared some cabinet space by eliminating a box of saltines by moving the crackers to the tin.
Not cool, apparently, because it took my mother at least 6 months to remember the crackers are in the cracker tin.
My grandfather worked at nabisco for over 40 years. Factory closed decades ago but long live the east liberty pittsburgh nabisco – before today’s “Bakery Square”
Ask her if she misses the red bendy things they used to give you to keep an unused sleeve closed...I sure do
Yes. Saltines and soup. Remember oyster crackers in the little packages too?
My 49 year old self does the same.
I have a bunch of these as a kid. Kept Legos in them.
I just bought this exact tin last week at a thrift store! Love all the old nostalgic tins.

My folks had one of these for ages. It's surprising, the things you remember.
My mother has this tin.

i remember these...trying to maka a robot out of them as a kid lol...
We store our incense sticks in one that was passed down from my spouse's grandma.
Still use ours!!!
Now this was a zinger.
I wish I had the one from my childhood still
Reminds me of my grandfathers house growing up
We had one of these growing up in the 80s and 90s.
Mom still has one! Thought everyone else had one.
I miss those tins. Great for repurposing them for other stuff. Now we get a crappy cardboard box that goes straight in the landfill.
Golden years
My grandpa worked for Nabisco all of my childhood. We had so many of those. We only have 2 now. I’m not sure what happened to the others.

No but we had this one in our pantry when I was growing up!
