I think it's nothing more than a self fulfilling prophecy. Tell yourself everyday that you wish to be in better shape or get the job you want. You break the cycle of thinking you'll never reach it, which prevented you from reaching the goal in the first place.
It's like saying:'Believe in yourself' but in a 'religious' kind of way. Telling people there is a higher force that will help you reach your goals if you tell yourself these goals every day.

If you have negative thoughts, negative things will happen. Every negative thing that happens in your life is because you didn't believe in something positive instead."

She would then refuse to take me to the hospital because she wanted me to manifest and think positively. (I’m fine now, all the way across the country and no contact!) Why are so many horrible people using this book to excuse awful, abusive behavior 😭
It came out when I had some crazy stuff happening and I’d want to punch anyone who was like “just manifest good thoughts”. But I had to grit my teeth and say “not all situations work like that” and try to change the topic.

This launched his career and he started writing books and doing seminars and selling his services, which grew and grew, eventually culminating in a week-long retreat that people could pay thousands to attend.
At his final retreat, he forced everyone into a sweat lodge; the whole thing built & operated by amateurs, and when people started overheating and having trouble breathing, he bullied them into staying and fighting through the discomfort.
Several people died, & Ray went to prison. There’s a documentary about him trying to revive his career after he got out of prison. It’s called “Enlighten Us” & it’s an interesting watch.

I never saw my parents read a book, nor did they own books. The exception is my mother read this book and it’s the only one she owned. I remember a couple of years later seeing a list of things that she wanted to have in her life. As a kid that didn’t have a good relationship with her, this kind of let me into her life and know more about her. It did kind of make me feel sad for her because she wanted the same things I wanted: to be happy and successful.
I remember the first time watching this maybe 15 years ago, and I instantly thought that I was a guru lol I remember some rat looking guy saying he uses it to get good parking spots lmao stfu. I do, however, believe that there is a lot of "power" in positive thought. Which is the best thing that I took away from this. It doesnt make your dreams come true and all of that bullshit, but trying to think more positively on a regular basis did improve the quality of my life. Funny part: there was this game based on the book supposedly helping you in applying the teaching in your life. At the time, I was trying to conceived and had been deamed too old for MAP so I said "Why not? I have nothing to lose". And 6 months later, I was pregnant. My son is soon to be 15.

My parents got obsessed with this when I was a kid. They kept talking about positive thinking and even gave me a vision board for things that I want to "manifest". Overall, it's really not a bad way of thinking, but the whole thing feels very cult-like looking back. I'm glad my parents didn't start giving out money or go further than just watching the DVD
My best friends mom showed us the “movie” version when I was in 11th grade. She 100000% believed in it, and I wanted to believe in it. So I spent the next week telling myself over and over again that I was going to pass my trigonometry exam.

My mom got so entangled in this. Unfortunately it’s not what they make it out to be at all. The only way to make this even seem to work on the slightest is to also action on your positive mindset. Like for example: you can’t just picture suddenly being a millionaire without actually doing anything to achieve it.
At the very least all this book does is force you to have a positive mindset about the future, but YOU yourself still need to be the driving force to make something happen in your life, no amount of wishful thinking will bring it to you

I saw this VHS tape back in the 90s and didn’t think much of it other than the fact that all religion is based on a similar principle of the benefits of directed thought energy. Going to church every week, reading a bible or holy text, the singing of hymns and such all designed to improve one’s self, family, and community. Even if ‘uneducated’ religion is something a person can become invested in because of ‘faith’. I’m not a religious person, but I believe in the power of the secret because it worked for me.
The problem with the secret is that people expect instant results, like winning the lottery. It just doesn’t work that way. Don’t think of the secret as 3 wishes granted from a genie in a bottle, but more of a positive thinking framework for getting things and behaviors you desire.
My specific example that worked was getting that dream car I always wanted. It actually took more than a year, but imagining the feeling of owning it and sitting behind the wheel and imagining it was mine came true. It’s a long story, but 100% true, and the car is sitting in the garage right now after taking delivery July 3rd, 2012.
My wife and I repeat this mantra every day “Everything is always working out great for us and our family”. We have tweaked it here and there changing great to “amazing”, and recently adding a phrase at the end to give specific good karma for our daughter that was going through a rough time after job changes, and losing her apartment. Took a while, but now she’s starting a new job and has a great new place because everything is always working out great for us and our family…
I read this silly book in the day and interviewed at a job and I envisioned in my mind the job offer I would get. It was off by $3,000 so I countered with the number I wanted and I got it.

Whatever you think about, you "attract." Think about good things, good things will happen to you. You can make a "vision board" of things you want in life, and they'll manifest for you.
If you approach your day with positive energy and a positive outlook then you have a better chance of having a good day, of good things happening, because you’re creating that energy/vibe and sharing it with others to be shared back with you. I thought The Secret was BS and at its best is nothing more than the power of positive thinking
The Secret and The Magic are teachings to guide us through life and help us understand how to live positively in society while feeling grateful for what we have and what we will receive. If you open your mind and let life happen naturally and intentionally you will see results. BUT! Life has no guarantees and sickness, sadness and tragedy will be a part of it. YOU have to be physically moving towards GOALS with the law of attraction mindset. The combination will get you closer to you're goals. I remember the first time watching this maybe 15 years ago, and I instantly thought that I was a guru lol I remember some rat looking guy saying he uses it to get good parking spots lmao stfu. I do, however, believe that there is a lot of "power" in positive thought. Which is the best thing that I took away from this. It doesnt make your dreams come true and all of that bullshit, but trying to think more positively on a regular basis did improve the quality of my life. And ultimately trying to use the law or attraction doesnt really hurt anyone so whatever.

Funny part: there was this game based on the book supposedly helping you in applying the teaching in your life. At the time, I was trying to conceived and had been deamed too old for MAP so I said "Why not? I have nothing to lose". And 6 months later, I was pregnant. My son is soon to be 15.

My therapist tried to get me into this. She recommended the book. Never got it, but I found the DVD for $3 at a Goodwill. Still haven’t watched it.
If you want something all you have to do is completely focus on it and the universe will give it to you.

My parents got obsessed with this when I was a kid. They kept talking about positive thinking and even gave me a vision board for things that I want to "manifest". Overall, it's really not a bad way of thinking, but the whole thing feels very cult-like looking back. I'm glad my parents didn't start giving out money or go further than just watching the DVD
My best friends mom showed us the “movie” version when I was in 11th grade. She 100000% believed in it, and I wanted to believe in it. So I spent the next week telling myself over and over again that I was going to pass my trigonometry exam.
When the exam came, the only answer I knew was my own name, written right at the top. I literally started crying and handed in a blank test.
Couple decades later and I’m still mad at Mrs. Howard for making me think the universe would give me the answers 😂
My mom got so entangled in this. Unfortunately it’s not what they make it out to be at all. The only way to make this even seem to work on the slightest is to also action on your positive mindset. Like for example: you can’t just picture suddenly being a millionaire without actually doing anything to achieve it.
At the very least all this book does is force you to have a positive mindset about the future, but YOU yourself still need to be the driving force to make something happen in your life, no amount of wishful thinking will bring it to you

Worked for me too homes. Life is totally different a lot of friends and relatives asked me what my secret is and I just told em to start visualizing what you want.

I saw this VHS tape back in the 90s and didn’t think much of it other than the fact that all religion is based on a similar principle of the benefits of directed thought energy. Going to church every week, reading a bible or holy text, the singing of hymns and such all designed to improve one’s self, family, and community. Even if ‘uneducated’ religion is something a person can become invested in because of ‘faith’. I’m not a religious person, but I believe in the power of the secret because it worked for me.
The problem with the secret is that people expect instant results, like winning the lottery. It just doesn’t work that way. Don’t think of the secret as 3 wishes granted from a genie in a bottle, but more of a positive thinking framework for getting things and behaviors you desire.
My specific example that worked was getting that dream car I always wanted. It actually took more than a year, but imagining the feeling of owning it and sitting behind the wheel and imagining it was mine came true. It’s a long story, but 100% true, and the car is sitting in the garage right now after taking delivery July 3rd, 2012.
My wife and I repeat this mantra every day “Everything is always working out great for us and our family”. We have tweaked it here and there changing great to “amazing”, and recently adding a phrase at the end to give specific good karma for our daughter that was going through a rough time after job changes, and losing her apartment. Took a while, but now she’s starting a new job and has a great new place because everything is always working out great for us and our family…
I read this silly book in the day and interviewed at a job and I envisioned in my mind the job offer I would get. It was off by $3,000 so I countered with the number I wanted and I got it.
So, it works!

The Secret and The Magic are teachings to guide us through life and help us understand how to live positively in society while feeling grateful for what we have and what we will receive. If you open your mind and let life happen naturally and intentionally you will see results. BUT! Life has no guarantees and sickness, sadness and tragedy will be a part of it. Enjoy while you can and always have something to look forward to 🏌️

YOU have to be physically moving towards GOALS with the law of attraction mindset. The combination will get you closer to you're goals.
