Pretty certain Dollar Tree also frequently had nearly 3 liter sodas for a good while. I think it was something like Stars & Stripes Soda, but I want to say they were more like 2.75L.
Dunno if they still actually sell them, however. Haven't been to one in a hot minute.
I remember watching a Frontline documentary on the rise in sugar/processed food during the 70s and 80s. Some old guy talked about putting down a three liter of soda a day. He had untreated diabetes went blind while drinking one.
And the bottoms would be a separate piece that was used for kids arts and crafts. Tell the whole history, these things would be globular and lose carbonation like crazy. The 80s was much shittier than the 90s where we figured shit out and got shit done.
You could buy 1 of those cheaper than you can currently buy a 16 or 20 oz soda now
Remember before the "bubble butt' bottoms of soda bottles? When they were flat like any other beverage container? That's old school. 😂
They were so prevalent back in the day my school used them for arts and crafts
Same. We made hanging planters out of them for our moms lol
3 liter bottles are soooo 80s!
Makes the best gravity bongs! Shasta 3 liter bottles and a five gallon bucket. A socket from dads tool box(1/2") and the screens out of the faucet.
Ahh, a man of culture.

Add a straw? I don't see your set up.... I'm pretty industrious.
Shit, the trumpet mouth piece.... Ok... You band kids were on a different level lol

Oh no. I see what you're up to... One time at band camp.....
I still find 3 liters at my local Carniceria, it’s like a scubatank filled with Squirt

If there is any wonder why there was a significant rise in diabetes in the 1980s, here is exhibit A.

The Mexican bottle
Those metal caps
Had a habit of peeling off the little ring of tabs when you take it off too
Will never beat this Mexican keg though.

Transcending beyond soda into sodies.
3 liter cokes are the standard at the dinner table in Mexico.
Yeah, these were common in Brazil too when I was there a few years back.
Fact: I saw Daryl Dawkins buying 2 of these at a gas station convenience store in New Jersey.

More like belt-buster
In Australia, I remembered these were marketed as 'Thirst Tanker'. I know, I bought heaps of them.
Tbh one of the few things I'm glad they don't make anymore.
Thirst bustin’ makes me feel gooood
I once attempted to burst my thirst with one of these bad boys and broke out in hives all over my body
I don't think I've ever heard of a 3 liter bottle before.
Idiocracy

The concept of original in a nostalgia subreddit is pretty funny.
Now who's DinoDrac and why are you upset OP is reposting something from another social media platform to this one?
