I believe in the genetically programmed hormone buzz that drives people to reproduce.

I believe in committed long term relationships where that hormone buzz has worn off. I won’t dump my cat by the side of the road when it gets old, either. I did a decade of project managing my mother when she had dementia.

There are so many kinds of love that to not believe in it seems foolish. You can romantically love a partner. You can platonically love a friend. You can love your family. You can love a pet. You can even love just getting a day off work and sleeping in.
