She was so young and porter had her. She did not shine until after she claw her way out. I not saying I did not love song her and porter did. But porter was kinda rip her off. She was one my favorite later on. She had Tammy and Loretta to teach her.
I’ve gone through a couple phases of being into it… in the 70s it was Dolly and Flat and Scruggs. And then a pause as my husband turned me on to Super Session and Lou Reed and Nicky Hopkins…and went through a Garth Brooks and Reba run… and now I listen to NPR all the time. There’s a Philly station that plays world beat and I love it
No. I grew up in middle Tennessee. Never vibed with redneck culture. But I've been so exposed to it that it's like a constant noise, like birds chirping. I tolerate it at best
Nope. It reminds me of dive bars and me as a kid made to go in them to coax my drunk grandma out. I hate that whiney twang and heavy southern accent. I’m from Alabama too.
It really depends. I love Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willy Nelson, etc. but I can’t stand most modern country music but there are exceptions like Tyler Childers.
Those who are wise know there is no bad genre, only bad artists and songs. Every genre has bangers, country, rap, rock and heck I’ve listened to some incredible Irish songs!
Started watching Landman and binged it. Would be a solid 10 if every single episode didn't have that garbage. Legitimately 1 song over a season and a half was tolerable.
I'm not really into country music but I do like some old Waylon Jennings, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristopherson, Willy Nelson. Lynyrd Skynyrd had some good tunes too
I grew up with my folks playing 70s and 80s country, so I like some of that - Dolly, Kenny Rogers, etc. I also really like Johnny Cash, but he was more rockabilly. But I strongly dislike most country otherwise.
I’m not a fan of the country /rap or country /rock. The music adapts the masses and tats cool but most of the country singers that were popular when I was growing up. Shown such disdain for anything that wasn’t country. Now the genre is scrambling to stay relevant
Depends on what you mean by that term. I generally do not like the contemporary “country” stuff that seems awfully like rock in cowboy hats….
But I’m a “roots music” kind of guy, and I love bluegrass, old-time country, a lot of “alternative” country…. A lot of the stuff that came (and continues to come) out of the Austin area.
No, but it's not the music's fault. After leaving my bio-dad, my mom married a guy from the hills of Georgia, and that's all he listened to. Unfortunately, he had complete control of the stereo, back when it was housed in a giant console that doubled as furniture. Every time I hear country, I think of him. To say we didn't get along is a massive understatement.
I like older country music from the 70’s. Waylon and Willie etc and bluegrass. The country from about 1995 on is absolute faecal matter. Steve Earl still has some good stuff .
only if i'm drinking cheap beer and driving a pickup truck down a dirt road lol. seriously tho can they sing about anything other than ur truck or ur ex
Some of it is great music, 60's and 70's C&W, Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis, Glen Campbell. Western Swing, 50's Rock&Roll, Rockabilly, Blues and even Jazz are all related to each other, and these crossovers make for some beautiful music. The last two decades I'm more into Jazz and Funk but every now and then I return to cloud #9.
Modern-pop country I don’t care for. I am a fan of Chris Stapleton though. His talent is undeniable, his voice transcends the boundaries of genre. His music is real, raw, and not auto-tuned corny crap like a lot of country sounds these days.
I still like to go back and listen to that national anthem SB performance. He’s a real one.
Not really. In Fallout: New Vegas, the music was very appropriate for the setting, but it's also pretty depressing, a percentage of it. I like all kinds of genres of music, but country and rap music are my least favorite.
It's certainly not my go to but there are songs and artists that I enjoy a lot. Chris Stapleton is freaking amazing. I love that intersection of country and blues. Bluegrass can be really good. Old school country can be enjoyable and good story telling country is nice. I don't love modern, generic pop country.
I grew up around a lot of it in the country by my grandparents and all the small town Oprys they used to have and hated it thought was so boring love songs made me wanna puke. I was a rocker then a punk rocker then I ended up doing country ass work/gigs for yrs after and now I study it and could talk about it all night. So many unknown artists that contributed to the genre that we’re still just discovering today. I love it
Well, I’m from Kentucky. Surrounded by it. There’s several artists I like but I’m not w/ the new pop-country. Didn’t like it when Taylor Swift did it, don’t like it now. Country music is part of my life and it’s really kinda lame to grow up with it playing around you and hate it all.
"I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down'” - Bob Newhart
No I never liked country music not even now I've always liked rock n roll the old stuff metallic, black lable society, black sabbath and metallic and so on old school rock n roll so I decided to give the hard ,alt country music a try nope still hate it not my thing.
70s outlaw country and alt country are pretty good.
Peak of country is the Highwaymen. Waylon, Kris, Willie and Cash of course.
Yeh but the older stuff Loretta Lynn, George jones, cash , Willy. Old Hank , kitty well etc etc . Love bluegrass a lot
How dare you forget Dolly Parton as well.
Have these people even heard Charlie pride?
She was so young and porter had her. She did not shine until after she claw her way out. I not saying I did not love song her and porter did. But porter was kinda rip her off. She was one my favorite later on. She had Tammy and Loretta to teach her.
Cough, cough. Patsy Cline
I enjoy listening to George Strait, Hank Williams Jr, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, Charlie Rich, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton—that's pretty much it.
No. Not even a little.
Only 80’s and 90’s
No not the new stuff whatever that actually is
Twangy pop. But there are some who are good,Chris Stapleton is one.
It’s mediocre soft rock with a twang.
There is no genre I hate more.
It makes me so irritated. That fucking unnatural, idiotic TWANG they sing with? Ughhhhh
No
Nope!
No. I grew up in middle Tennessee. Never vibed with redneck culture. But I've been so exposed to it that it's like a constant noise, like birds chirping. I tolerate it at best
Absolutely
There’s some good country stuff out there but most of it is really bad. And ive heard a lot of it because my family likes it.
Those who are wise know there is no bad genre, only bad artists and songs. Every genre has bangers, country, rap, rock and heck I’ve listened to some incredible Irish songs!
I like good music. It doesn't matter what genre it is.
I respect it, I just can't get with it.
No, not since John Denver anyway.
i think he was considered folk
Folkin’ John Denver
That’s what we called him
Folkin’ John
Oh hell naw
There’s nothing I love more. I grew up in a rural village. I love everything about it.
The music of hate.
Hell No. I fucking hate country music.
The whole she’s got her big ol’ titties in my Ford F-150 and we’re driving to the city type of shit, I can’t stand.
That old school style like Johnny Cash, I do if I’m being honest
I'm a metal head who enjoys older thrash music, so fuck no!
Nope
No
no
Nope
NO
No.
Nope. Sorry
it's okay but not a big fan
Certain songs. Mostly ones that are tied to memories like Don't Take The Girl, Sunny & 75 or What Hurts The Most.
I'd rather take a roundhouse to the lips by Chuck Norris wearing steel toe work boots than listen to current country music.
A lot of it. Some of it, not so much.
The stuff I like, I really like, the stuff I don’t (which is a fair amount) I find utterly horrific.
A lot of it.
It's absolutely the best music to dance to with a partner.
70s and 80s.
Classic country is my absolute favorite.
Old bluegrass somewhat, Alison Krauss, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
Fishing in the Dark is such a vibe!
10%
Honestly, I don’t blast it every day, but there’s something about country music that hits different when you’re in a chill, storytelling mood.
I do indeed like a lot of it. Not all but most styles I like. Not every singer or song though.
Some of it
Stuff from the 60’s,70’s and 80’s even some rando stuff from the 90’s and some of the current pop-country. But I’ll listen to a lot of stuff.
I love all music, other than country.
No
Hate it. I love folk stuff like Zach Bryan and Noah Kahn. But that’s all I can handle
The recent stuff. Nothing before 1990.

Started watching Landman and binged it. Would be a solid 10 if every single episode didn't have that garbage. Legitimately 1 song over a season and a half was tolerable.
Fuuuuuuck nooooooo
I like country from the 50's ,60's ,70's ,80's , not the modern rubbish .
I'm not really into country music but I do like some old Waylon Jennings, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristopherson, Willy Nelson. Lynyrd Skynyrd had some good tunes too
Maybe like, a bakers dozen of songs.
80s and 90s country great times
There are different genres of country music that I love. But newer "pop country" as I call it is absolutely trash
I grew up with my folks playing 70s and 80s country, so I like some of that - Dolly, Kenny Rogers, etc. I also really like Johnny Cash, but he was more rockabilly. But I strongly dislike most country otherwise.
No, I love it. If you go beyond the mainstream Nashville stuff (outside a handful of artists), there are a lot of really talented singer-songwriters.
https://savingcountrymusic.com/
There are a few….a very few…I can tolerate. Otherwise No
Is Johnny Cash country? I like Cash.
I’m not a fan of the country /rap or country /rock. The music adapts the masses and tats cool but most of the country singers that were popular when I was growing up. Shown such disdain for anything that wasn’t country. Now the genre is scrambling to stay relevant
Not really
I like alt country
Uh, NO. Except Willy.
There are some good) country artists out there; you just have to find them.
I love Johnny Cash, Colter Wall, and Midland a lot which surprises most of my friends since I’m normally a rock, rap, edm/dubstep guy.
All the old stuff
I do
No, but it's not the music's fault. After leaving my bio-dad, my mom married a guy from the hills of Georgia, and that's all he listened to. To say we didn't get along is a massive understatement.
I only like the 70’s outlaw country music. I think the rest of it sucks.
The old stuff, Dixie Chicks and Zac Brown…that’s it for me.
There are a handful of good songs but the rest sucks!
I like older country music from the 70’s. Waylon and Willie etc and bluegrass. The country from about 1995 on is absolute faecal matter. Steve Earl still has some good stuff .
Not really
Not really, but loved that movie Pure Country
only if i'm drinking cheap beer and driving a pickup truck down a dirt road lol. seriously tho can they sing about anything other than ur truck or ur ex
I wouldn't say I love country , but I love a bunch of country's artists.
Just like rap , country's has a wide range of genre.
I don't like modern rap , I wouldn't say I like rap , but I do like some old school rapper
Shaboozy
No

LIVE country music is great. Recorded stuff? Not so much.
Some older country music had soul and grit, it's fine.
Today's country music sucks. It's soulless, self-righteous, pandering, commercial, unoriginal, crap.
Nah. I do like bluegrass, and I love folk. Whatever the Avett Brothers count as.
No
As a whole no but I grew up with a mom who loved country music and mainstream artists like Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers who I grew to like as well.
Johnny Cash and a few others but honestly rarely listen to country
Some of it. The artists tend to spoil it, though.
Some of it, sure. I would never write off an entire genre of music.
Never liked it much. Closest I listen to is rockabilly.
Not since 1982.
It depends on the subgenre.
Some. I'm a Willie Nelson fan.
Not really. In Fallout: New Vegas, the music was very appropriate for the setting, but it's also pretty depressing, a percentage of it. I like all kinds of genres of music, but country and rap music are my least favorite.
I hate it. But I do love Dolly.
I love it!!!

There are some good songs, but it’s not my thing overall.
Sometimes, mostly the stuff that tells a good story rather than just twangy sadness.
A lot, not all
Some is great but not all is gr8.
No I love it
I prefer the Blues
Love
"I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down'” - Bob Newhart
I like country music and Bob Newhart! Lol
No I don’t have a taste for it
Good music, is good music, and there might be good country music. I haven't heard any, but i'll try to keep an open mind.
No I never liked country music not even now I've always liked rock n roll the old stuff metallic, black lable society, black sabbath and metallic and so on old school rock n roll so I decided to give the hard ,alt country music a try nope still hate it not my thing.
I hate most of it. There are some good artists out there.
absolutely love country music. I love the song writing.
The older music beats today’s country rock
Depends on the company I'm listening to it with.
Fuck no. Blue grass is ok though
No. not my style
I like some stuff but the pop version I listen to Faith Hill and Shania Twain not a lot of their songs though not that other stuff the real stuff

Some. Garth Brooks is good. Johnny Cash.....
Absolutely
Alt country slaps

Not my favorite genre, but Roy Clark is one of my favorite guitarists. Play a mean fiddle and banjo as well
i will always love willie nelson and dolly parton
