• The Korea/Hyundai thing came up earlier today in a separate convo, and ...

basically, Marco Rubio (State Dpt) had to get involved just to get them out of detention despite their having all their paperwork in order and being in the states on a program that invited foreign companies to send their workers to the US to train US teams to work in the US-side factories. They were here installing and training and were raided, detained, and the fucking SECRETARY OF STATE had to get involved to release them.

Who the fuck is giving these orders in the ICE chain of command? Stephen Miller undoubtedly expressed the desire, but he can only make a recommendation. Someone IN the organization has to actually sign off and pass down the order. Who is that person?

Who else, but the person leading Homeland Security?!

Noem is one of a number of possibilities.

And on that topic, who will replace her and how much more evil will they be?

Rumor has it that it would be Glenn Youngkin. But I'll believe it when I see it.

I did hear "it might be a governor" but Abbott came to mind for me, but I can see Trump taking Youngkin in a twisted logic.

Apparently Youngkin is gonna be unemployed in January when the new Democratic governor-elect of Virginia, Abigail Spanberger, takes over. Abbot is still going to be the governor of Texas for 2026 and has announced his intent to run for governor again.

And they will re-elect that POS and his administration yet again. We will never get rid of these people. 😑

Abbot is truly one of the most incompetent human beings to have ever lived, I can't fathom why even texas keeps electing him.

    Seen the maps?

    …gubernatorial elections are statewide

And Texas will still blame the Dems for all it's problems despite being under conservative rule for decades.

Many of these folks will fondly look back on Ann Richards oddly enough.

Correct, and grabbing him will give Trump a week or two of propaganda "look Virginia ousted a great guy but look how great he is! I saved him!"

Also, Youngkin has always been on the outside looking in on Trump world and you'd better believe Trump knows that as well. It is possible Trump sees Youngkin as a likely "easy mark" with enough experience to do stuff but not enough to revolt against Trump

You know, I don’t know why people aren’t giving Abbott the benefit of the doubt, why, under his leadership, I don’t think he would stand for this sort of foolishness. He will for sure be wheeling and dealing to make ICE work for the American people!

/s because otherwise the puns won’t save me from the downvotes lol

He doesn't stand for much, but he'll happily try to roll anyone who offends him or calls out his lies

He will also sit in on every briefing, no walking away even when the mission is complete. That’s dedication!

"Secretary Noem, what is habeas corpus?"

"The constitutional right the president has to remove anyone from this country."

    🤯

I, too, struggle to imagine someone stupider and/or worse but I remain steadfast in my confidence that Trump will manage to find that person

I doubt Noems actually running anything. She's to busy getting her hair done for pictures.

She's admitted to at least a few high-profile decisions, but does spend a lot of time cosplaying and doing propaganda

She's not the idea person. Someone is directing her like Miller directs Trump.

She's not the idea person. Someone is directing her like Miller directs Trump.

Oh please. This isn’t rocket appliances. It’s well within the realm of the dog-killing **** that is Noem.

You're allowed to swear on Reddit.

Calling it now: Acting DHS Secretary Stephen Miller

My understanding is that ICE has been given a quota of people they must deport per day.

So they are looking for the fastest –not most legal– way to do it. And it is easier to find migrants who are playing by the rules than actual dangerous criminals...

Yep, this goes back to May of 2025. 3,000 per day.

This is why they don’t care whether there’s a criminal record or not, and people who are here legally get detained for the most minor of infractions, like the woman from the UK who wrote a bad check for $25 ten years ago.

It’s absolutely not about people who are dangerous, it’s about the numbers. And it’s not just Noem or Miller or Homan, it’s about Trump and his 1 million deportations per year goal, and we all know how important numbers are to Trump, whether it’s ratings or inauguration crowds.

Or the Australian guy who gave a like to a fat JD Vance meme on social media. He was returning to his apartment where he'd lived for years, and was deported without even being able to get his stuff.

Stephen Miller is rabid about a quota, but the details are not directly related to that.

I have little doubt that Miller approved this "hold them all, regardless" thing was approved by Miller. He may even have initiated the idea. But he is not the person who can give orders to the average agent or detention officer, those orders come from a mid- or upper-level manager in the agency.

Let’s be honest it’s also a culture thing. ICE is infested by the type of people that would gladly do this.

Hyundai should have cancelled the project

The notoriety of this incident has already cancelled multiple future projects for sure.

Businesses don't build factories for a 4-year lifespan. If the US is going to pull this shit every 4y then companies are going to take that downside into consideration, and even if companies set up these visa schemes, you've then got to consider who would actually sign up and come when you look at the Hyundai workers getting treated like fucking criminals for literally just doing their job.

I wouldn't blame them for staying in Korea and never even thinking of taking a job in the US again, regardless of who's in the White House.

I don't see a way america comes back from this... Like ever

Reject our Hague Invasion Act and submit this administration to the ICC for trial and punishment outside the US. Increased UN election and human rights monitoring alongside reparations to the nations whose citizens we’ve harmed.

Let's be honest. None of that's gonna happen. Next administration will probably pardon past crimes in an effort to "let go of the past and push America forward".

and it will only get worse again if they do. thats problem really this all started with Nixon and letting him slide

The confederates weren't dealt with like they should have.

Barely even sentenced the criminal in chief when the chance was there, no way something like thisi s going to be enacted. Too many people who support this as well

Just look at the other successful Russian psyop to see the results: Brexit.

It has cost the UK billions in GDP, and more importantly has driven a deeper wedge between the UK and the rest of Europe.

We've lost so much and it's not a quick fix to put it right and restore all that financial and political blood loss.

It was also an EV plant. The US is killing any chances of EVs. Rest of the world should just stop doing business here

they should pulled out the whole US market. we need them more the then they need the US market

You don't really need a person in charge to give explicit orders on the daily per se. Once it was made clear by leadership that ICE could do what they want, that the national guards would be activated to support them and that local and state police force would do nothing to oppose them they felt free to do what they want. Lower leadership level knew what to do.

They listened to Trump, Vance and Co. And they are following that agenda because it aligns with theirs. They hired people within movements like Proud Boys, Oathkeepers and other supremacist orgs and possibly already had ties to them previously. And the result is that they (ICE and Border Police) happily go on those immigrant hunts and they call it doing their job, because at this point it is.

It's not a job if you love what you do

It’s Miller. Trump isn’t running the show, he just does whatever Miller and the goon squad tells him to and then conveniently doesn’t know anything or remember anything so there’s plausible deniability.

Someone is doing this intentionally. The question I have is that intention to highlight how stupid the policies are in hopes of turning public opinion or because they're pieces of shit?

My opinion is this: we know Trump chooses people who make headlines or cosplay a part on his tv, and he does that on the belief that their public persona will somehow generate headlines that make him look good.

He doesn't understand why those headlines do not materialize, which starts a cycle of demands that eventually result in the person being forced out.

So, incompetence on some counts, competence on other counts. Trump has fantasy headlines in his head and doesn't have the competence himself to organize people/decisions in such a way as to achieve those. When the fantasy headlines don't materialize, he blames the person he put in office, and the cycle of demands eventually results in even sycophants being ousted.

It’s also racist people calling in tips to ICE

A similar incident happened in a Boston area car wash and the workers too were all legal. Some racist yahoo repeatedly called ICE to report the car wash and ICE raided it.

Here’s the thing- it looks like they get bonused individually on body count, not on whether it’s a good grab (and bonus one La supposed LEO group on interactions is obviously, fucking bad). So they hang out at watering holes, looking for a technicality, and use it, because it ain’t their problem to deal with the aftermath, just get the score on the board.

That system, if it is in effect (and there are strong rumors to suggest it is) came from Noem. Probably with Miller’s input.

And they're finding lots of technicalities because Trump has fired at 20% of the federal immigration judges (140 out of roughly 700). It's not the immigrants fault when they file the paperwork in plenty of time but can't get an appointment.

it's horrible and chaotic BY DESIGN.

At this point I also think various different sects of ICE/CBP are basically running wild and getting bolder in their own autonomy. Noem/Miller/Homan have set them loose with little training and nothing but a rabid desire to cause pain and suffering on people and places they don't like. Look at the world's lil'est, most-racist'est, wannabe cowboy, Greg Bovino, going on his US tour with his band of racist pirates, just fucking up cities for a few weeks then moving on to the next.

I don't think it's so much giving these orders, they're just being let do whatever the fuck they want. At most, Miller will berate them for not meeting quota, but other than that, the leadership doesn't really seem to be leading all that much. Just letting their dogs run loose.

At a minimum, I agree CBP and ICE are rogue and doing their own thing. The fact that ICE does this more often than CBP suggests to me that this particular "habit" is an agency-level rather than an LE or Department-level thing.

various different sects of ICE/CBP are basically running wild and getting bolder in their own autonomy

Nazis will just get bolder and bolder
until they finally stop getting older

Seems very counter productive to tell the world you want them to build factories in your country while Raiding said factories and locking up the people who are training your people..

Keep talking logic and Trump will put a Naval carrier group in your yard, too

AFTER they all went back to Korea Trump started whining about how he wants people to send people over and train American workers to make whatever stuff. He could have signed an executive order for that, that is a move well within his legal rights as president and he fucking LOVES signing EOs. He sets up entire media times in the White House with all the television cameras and signs them by the pile, literally.

Yet, he didn't even ASK if that was a thing, he just whined that countries weren't doing the thing. That is the level of self-awareness we are talking about here. He has no concept of how to govern, and I don't just mean the political details of initiating or shepherding an item from idea to action. He just wants the TV show.

    Noem probably, she’s a moron

What did we expect was going to happen when the budget went from 6.5 billion to $65 billion?

There is no chain of command. These are wild dogs.

They have been "unleashed", so whatever they want. Just call them terrorists at this point

Someone IN the organization has to actually sign off and pass down the order. Who is that person?

we're going to have a whole ton of unsigned orders to go through in the next admin. it's what they did when cracking down on the floyd gorge protests, thousands of people arrested by unsigned.

I support the equivalent of Nuremberg trials

The Republicans don't want any immigrants to become citizens. Immigrants that become citizens are more likely to vote for a Democrat.

  • TPS is a renewable two-year status. They did file to renew but the application is still pending.

She did the correct thing, the government is slow, and detained her for their own fuck up despite her having done things correctly, per their attorney.

Who do we donate to? At this point we need a law firm that just does these cases and nothing else.

So she did the right thing, but got punished for slow processing from the agency, which she has zero control.

FYI this is happening everyday to thousands of people who are legally in the US and are following every step of the immigration process correctly.

It's scary waiting for the shoe to drop. I'm married to an asylum seeker. My wife and I got attacked with a knife two nights ago (on camera) and we are afraid to go to the police because we don't want to take a chance popping up on the wrong radar. I'll choose getting stabbed before I let my daughter get put in a camp.

    Fuck, that's terrifying. Stay safe.

    Stay safe

Easy to say, but going to Canada or Mexico might not be that easy.

And it's not an option. My wife went through Mexico on her way here and she's never going back. I'm sure you can imagine why if you've heard any stories. And Canada won't let more people in either. Furthermore, our life is here. We have dreams here. We just want to make it through this nightmare that gets worse by the day.

On December 5th, USCIS suspended all asylum hearings indefinitely from 25 counties including hers in the wake of the national guard killings. Every time we take one step forward we get pushed two steps back.

This sounds like something that was happening in Germany in 1930s.

    They're the same picture

It’s now even happening to people from certain countries AT their naturalization ceremonies. Beyond fucked up.

My friend has his citizenship ceremony coming up. Just hoping THAT is enough for these people until it happens. I can’t believe what this country is coming to.

Better hope ICE doesn’t show up to the ceremony and pluck people out right before they swear allegiance. They’ve done that.

I hope that he's not from one of the "scary" countries. Might be able to slip through if he knows not to admit the wrong information to those fucks.

Gather your friends, dress and look alike, escort this person to the pledge, have hi say the words very quickly.

    I'm only half joking.

This what I fear for my wife and step son when renewal for their permanent green card comes up in a couple of years. They can easily slow walk the renewal and then send ICE for non-compliance. Can’t wait for this admin to be rein in.

I believe you can apply either up to one year or six months before your green card expires. I renewed mine last year and don't remember what the window is, but definitely have them apply for renewal as early as possible in order to minimize the risk of this happening to them.

    Good luck, friend.

Oh definitely will do and hope for the best. In the mean time, I am going to start adoption process. Can’t have my son get sent back no matter the cost.

Some of the people who support this will try to flip it into "government inefficiency" or some bullshit to justify more cuts.

That’s the problem, people are following the process, but the process is so backed up. They end up falling out of compliance not because of their own decisions but because we might be here for an eight month green card, but it takes 10 months to get an interview even if you start the first day you’re here.

It’s an impossible system that forgives and doesn’t care about situations like that normally but because this administration is correct, they deport people like this

Officially, she’s supposed to actually have a grace period to submit an application, and then a further grace period while they process it. It’s a bit more complex than that of course, but even on its face, you can see the obvious issues. You look layer by layer and it gets worse and worse with each one. And it’s obviously not because they fucked it up this bad. We are all fully aware that the reason is malice.

    The slow processing is intentional.

You cannot file for a renewal until you're <6 months from its expiration

  • In October 2023, Bulavina filed for and was granted Temporary Protective Status. In January, three months before her TPS status was set to expire, she applied for a renewal, Korol said.

“Both attorney and me, we were talking to the ICE people, explaining to them her status, you know, that it is a perfect status. That she has TPS, she filed for an extension, and waiting for the extension. I repeated it a couple of times, but they were saying ... her status was expired, so they will detain her,” Korol said.

WTF is happening? She did file for extension appropriately, but status was expired????

She filed for extension in January, status was expiring in april, they delayed the interview to December, way past the expiry date, without renewing the status.

If she filed for green card application, she underwent a period of authorized stay. She should not be detained.

Besides, she filed for extension way before TPS expiration. It's not her fault for slow processing from officers.

At this point it feels like it would be worth hiring private security to attend these appointments.

normal private security would not touch a job like this with a 10 foot pole, youd need "black panthers" type of security

You can't bring security, and they wouldn't help anyway. If ICE wants to take you into custody they will.

They're kinda cowards so it might put them off.

That's the key. Make it look hard. If they think it seems like more trouble than it's worth, they'll go for an easier target instead.

People from certain countries deemed ‘at risk’ are now being detained AT their naturalization ceremonies.

You must not have been paying attention for the past 10 months. They have been targeting these hearings since almost day one.

Yup. They nab people as they try to attend them. Literally in the process of doing the right thing and ICE just see it as a convenient opportunity.

There was a guy that said it was a trap IRC

"Should" is carrying a lot here. Historically, agencies would overlook these administrative gaps, because it's a waste of time.

Someone provably filed and it hasn't been processed yet? Yeah, they're not a risk at all, and basically every judge would be annoyed if it was brought before them.

There is a reason ICE is circumventing due process with these folks - they know few judges would grant a deportation order for someone "doing it the right way".

    I'm remembering back to COVID.

I got the 18 month letter to say my greencard was still valid with expiry, whilst converting from 2 year greencard to 10 year.

USCIS didn't get me a card within those 18 months, so for a while I was pretty much without statuts and due to the COVID situation and flights.

I was pretty much stateless for a bit, unable to leave the country.

Sorted itself out but I imagine I'd 100% one of those people ICE was chasing down as 'out of status'.

They changed the policy regarding the pending "adjustment of status" status. It's especially stupid considering that the unlawful presence is waived if you're married to a US citizen.

Adding some context here: she did apply for an extension of her TPS status, that one is still pending and was not granted (yet?).

She also applied for a green card based on her marriage to an American citizen, that's what the interview is for. Legally speaking, the two are unrelated. In ICE's eyes, since her TPS is expired (due to government fuck ups and delays) she's here illegally.

Having a green card interview with no other status doesn't change that, unfortunately for her. It also doesn't guarantee you will get the green card, sounds like this is the first initial interview she was scheduled for.

Quick Edit: That should've gone under the parent comment, not this one

The South Korean team had non-expired papers and were here doing things Trump explicitly asked (on tv) be done.

Marco Rubio still had to get involved in order to force their release. Someone at ICE is a Stephen Miller acolyte who gets off on doing this kind of thing.

They've even detained well over 100 citizens, doing illegal search/seizure of their stuff looking for documents, and...even tried to deport at least one Native tribal member and have given plenty more a pile of shit. If even white guy citizens are being shit on and natives are in danger of deportation without recourse for their claim to be checked (which should only take a few hours at most)???

No, they do not give a rat's ass about paperwork, regardless of what Tom Holman and Greg Bovino say.

The South Koreans in question where training Americans to run their new factory, that the most idiotic aspect of it all.

They weren't 'stealing jobs' but there to facilitate American jobs. They where in the US for a short time only.

Someone at ICE is a Stephen Miller acolyte who gets off on doing this kind of thing.

Yeah, that's just all of ICE, period.

  • So much for "come here the right way," argument.

  • Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They're allowed to take only a knapsack and a little cash with them, and even then, they're robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated.

Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared. Women return from shopping to find their houses sealed, their families gone.

    Anne Frank, describing Nazis

If you are using undocumented immigrants' tax records to find and kidnap them, then it was never about them paying taxes.

If you are showing up at their place of employment, then it was never about them not working.

If you are showing up at courthouses, then it was never about getting them to "do it the right way"

If you are kidnapping women and children, then it was never about criminals.

If you're refusing to give them due process, then it was never about the Constitution.

If you are building concentration camps in Florida to keep them here in cages, then it was never about the border.

If you're spending billions to do this, then it was never about the economy.

And if you're doing all this in the name of a 34 time convicted felon, then it was never about following the law.

Can I use this last part, after Anne Frank, everywhere?

It's so on spot, never saw someone summarize so beautifully.

PLEASE SPREAD IT ANYWHERE YOU FIND APPROPRIATE. It would absolutely make me feel better to get it in front of the right eyes to actually invoke feelings & thought.

Man that part hit hard. And I'm not even living in States. Guess April was last time I visited for quite some time from now on...

Not worth it. I'm a citizen and I'm tired of it. Even local cops are just as bad. They hear your voice and immediately bring ice for back up.

And if you claim to be against all this but didn't bother to vote -- you are just as culpable. We already know MAGA is hypocritical.

We need to direct the conversation to everyone else who claim to be pro human rights, but remain absent when elections come around.

  • And they always go for the soft targets.

You'll never see ICE walk into a gang affiliated neighborhood and try and arrest anyone.

That's because the party of Law and Order actually just has a fetish for using their guns to push around and bully brown people

  • I remember having some back and forth with some random guy on Reddit when the whole birthright citizenship thing started getting thrown around, this is before the ICE raids started.

I stated something like "it will suck once it gets to the point when anyone who doesn't look quite white enough needs to constantly walk around with their birth certificate to prove their citizenship"

He responded with "stupid liberal nonsense, that won't happen. People who are legal citizens have nothing to worry about, their citizenship can be easily identified. Stop trying to start false panic!"

How is that panning out buddy?

He knew this would happen. He just didn’t care and was just gaslighting you. Conservatives know this fascist bullshit is what this behavior and supporting ice leads to, they’re just to cowardly to admit it’s exactly what they want.

Yeah, people think Trump is the problem, but the root of the problem is, it is the people, and they are taking their masks off. My relatives are mostly conservatives and their definition of not being a racist back then was "don't say this in the public, dumbass". Now they just don't need to worry about the "appear to be" part.

Many didn’t know this would happen, and believed it because the right wing talking heads told them that this argument was just another in a long line of fear mongering by the left.

They even used fake callers to call in with those arguments to ridicule them. Those callers are easy to spot because they rediculously adhere to stereotypes of what the right believes the left sounds like.

Every single conservative I talk to about immigration/ICE sounds like they have brain damage and forgot how the law works. Things that are blatantly illegal like arresting random people without probable cause, or ignoring judges orders, are suddenly all OK.

Had similar back and forth here and elsewhere and still see idiots mouthing the same BS claiming it's all liberal lies, etc. Whatever passes for brains in those people have long been rotted by their own bigotry and Faux news.

I’m low key convinced at this point that watching right wing media literally takes the folds out of one’s brain.

Was talking to somebody on Facebook and they said that 90% of the video’s of ice targeting US citizens are actors and the videos are fake

Well, if you're talking about the ICE agents, he's probably not wrong. I suspect that 90% of masked ICE agents are effectively actors playing ICE agents...

  • This exact situation happened with Viktoriia Korol in San Diego. Applied for TPS extension in January, extension was still pending when her original status expired in April, arrested after ICE barged in on her green card interview this week.

  • Are you in the United States? Undocumented? You are not safe

Are you in the United States? Legal resident? You are not safe

Are you in the United States? Citizen? You are not safe

Are outside of the United States? Surprise, still not safe, orange nutjob could start a conflict or war anywhere or anytime

Will the US come out of this? Signs point to.....no we will not

Don’t forget that most of rest of the world hates the US at this point.

I’ve declined to go to the US for work twice this year and I sure as hell ain’t going there on holiday.

And even those that don’t explicitly hate us are no longer making allowances for this shit.

I think a lot of our allies tolerated his first term, believing it was temporary and eventually saner heads would prevail.

This time around that patience and tolerance is wearing extremely thin if there’s any left at all. And I don’t blame them one bit.

People hoped 4 years of his first bullshit would be enough, but the people in power made so much damn money…. And they doing it again but bigger, harder, faster, stronger this time

Save me before the switch goes complete and hope is lost.

I love the idea that the last threads of decency and democracy in your country are held together by your barely functioning Nintendo Switch controller.

It’s remarkable how much has changed and happened in almost a year. Eclipses the historic “Florida Florida Florida” white board election events. I’m not crazy, but I really hope they don’t reveal any voting machines are revealed hacked or it comes out decades later like Nixon’s tapes.

Never in my lifetime have I expected the ridiculous things witnessed coming out of this country after Obama. That guy is great. He should run for California governor, any state really.

It's a real hassle for everyone but zero pushback.

I’m an American living overseas and am often being asked to defend or explain the U.S. and I can’t.

What’s happening now is so far outside the realm of what the country told me it was that I genuinely can’t understand.

It’s like there’s something in the water that turned everyone into unempathetic paranoid assholes in my absence.

It's money, power and the disguise of christianity

There’s a psychological phenomenon called identity fusion that forms when people like Trump psychologically abuse his entire base for as long as he has. Through the process, they essentially lose themselves and are walking, talking mini trumps; they share the same brain essentially. What Trump thinks, they think too.

We’ve got mass narcissism and psychopathy running rampant right now, and these people are also getting pardoned. Literal cluster b illnesses that are hell bent on destroying.

Not "as long as he (Trump) has". The most directly related part of this process started with the Falwells in the 1970s with the "Silent Majority". They were stuck with a large but not quite large enough block of voters until the economic resentments of more recent years bubbled up, the 2008 crisis is a good point in the timeline to pin (but it wasn't just that, the COL crisis came after that, followed by the recent inflation, and the COVID ripples in the business/commercial world).

It's long and complicated, my personal opinion is to point at things like: towns and cities have single-home zoning as something like 80% of their residential areas being a factor. Street design requiring a car (not just allowing for a car), which is an added necessary expense. Healthcare and higher education being priced at extortionist rates.

2008 had little to do with this directly - and some things came prior, others after. But it's a useful pin because all these issues converged to form what now feel like widespread chronic economic issues rather than one reason for one person or region, and another issue for someone else. The convergence happened and became chronic, and I think that is what created the "fields" which the far-right recruited from to push them over the top.

Trump is a symptom, the end result. Not the cause.

    -

On a related note, I truly believe that a lot of people who voted for Trump on economics (whether misled or as true believers) would also vote for someone like Bernie, especially if the culture wars were not a thing and this was principally an economic matter with social add-ons rather than the other way around.

a good go to response for this scenario I used in Japan is "I live here for a reason..."

I explain how big the US is and how many people live here then go on to explain that a huge chunk of the voting population reads at like an 8th grade level.

How I'd explain it: There are two Americas - one is Nazi America, and with them the people who dont seem to care or aren't affected (yet) and don't vote. And there is a huge umbrella of different types of liberals, generally moderate people, and true progressives who are all trying to vote these fuckers out. In in a sense we're seeing a second Civil War, except it's a "cold" one (so far). Despite ICE being Gestapo II, we don't have outright war between two armies like the Union and the Confederacy.

The problem is that any “Civil War II” will be started by MAGA and consist of MAGA gun nuts going around shooting their non-MAGA neighbors, and look like random acts of violence at first.

It will be less like Gettysburg and more like The Troubles

Just remind them that Trump was elected by less than 1/3rd of the population and he is controversial at home too.

Likewise, I have moved most of my buying to other countries, I refuse to pass through a US controlled port, never mind entering a US province.

Americans are going to struggle to rebuild any trust even in the west.

No. The rest of the world with the exception of chosen dictators, drug dealers and those who made payments were declared as enemies by the USA - including allies like Canada and Denmark and then were hit by idiotic tariffs.
The strong dislike for the us government didn't come from nothing.

Uf we are able to vote them out next term, everyone needs to contact their representatives to get them to investigate and severely punish everyone complicit from the top down to the lowest level. I was only following orders is not a valid defense.

They are attempting to centralize power and take control of the United States (and ultimately, the world and everything), some may argue they already have.

Though our laws and constitution still exist, effectively our current leadership does not care about them, at least not to the extent that they should. And it currently seems that the systems to keep them in check are not as hardy as we would have hoped.

Every present moment throughout history determines what the future becomes, and it's not looking good.

Are outside of the United States? Surprise, still not safe, orange nutjob could start a conflict or war anywhere or anytime

The entire human race is one dementia-caused outburst away from nuclear Armageddon. If Trump orders the missiles launched, they'll be launched, and no one anywhere will survive that.

I don’t get the feeling that the Generals love him. I expect nothing of politicians. The entire Republican Party has proven itself complicit, self seeking, and deeply inhumane. The military brass, however, I think would find a way to obstruct a nuclear order.

*yes, I know the navy has violated international law and behaved without honor on Hegseth’s/Trumps orders. But, there is pushback, and I think the upper echelon of the military would ultimate quietly obstruct something so patently insane as a nuclear attack. I hope.

It would only take one missile being launched, and then all hell breaks loose. One general and their subordinates listening to Trump over common sense and the law. That's all it'll take. And the ongoing Caribbean fisherman murders prove they have enough loyalists to do it.

  • Where are the dumb MAGAs that are saying you are not in trouble if you are legal?

  • They seem to be bounty hunters. Are they paid per person? Why else are they so ruthless?

I reckon they are told (with per detainee bonus) to grab whoever they think looks the part and "we'll deal with the the facts later"

  • It surprises me when any non American makes the decision to actually travel to America during these times.. Ukrainian is more understandable I guess

  • Jesus Christ

This is going to take 4 generations to unfuck this

Yeah, it's insane how much damage this man and his buddies have done this year alone.

Don't forget the 77 million others that directly enabled this. And the 90 million that couldn't be bothered to.

That’s how things go to shit. It takes multiple presidencies to unfuck one sides one but its rare to get multiple two terms in a row. So everything gets more fucked/perpetually goes to shit. If the second party actually cared about the people could unfuck quicker but it’s more an act of giving us popcorn and peanuts to tide us over.

  • Refugees need to understand that the USA isnt what was advertised in the past. Its not free, its not safe, its now run by a dictatorship.

People should definitely know what they’re getting into. It’s not the same as the stories we grew up hearing

Those were not “stories”. People really did get asylum and started new lives in a much safer environment than from where they came and an environment that allowed foreigners to be free from political persecution. I know dozens of people, and many specifically from Ukraine and former Soviet states that fled to America and have built lives and businesses here and did nothing but grow this nation. Remember, these are not stories, they are not tales. It is real life. Sometimes that gets lost online.

  • There needs to be a coass action lawsuit over all the heinous shit ICE keeps doing. They won't stop untill it hurts their wallet.

  • "Do it the right way" then they wait outside to catch people doing it the right way.

  • If you want people to follow the legal process to come here and become a citizen, harassing and arresting people when they try to do so is most definitely the worst possible way to go about getting people to follow the process legally.

The point is to make them afraid.

  • First they came for the illegal immigrants. But I did not speak out because I was not an illegal immigrant. Then they came for the legal immigrants. But I did not speak out because I was not a legal immigrant. Then they came for the naturalized citizens. But I did not speak out because I was not a naturalized citizen…

  • The cruelty is the point.

  • This is why I’m convinced that in the future, you will see white people, born to white citizens getting their citizenship revoked & shipped to CECOT as stateless folks because they said something mean about ole Donnie.

  • What an awful country to live in.

  • Kicks and scream about “immigrate the right way” they do that and still get detained. Where the fuck are we

  • I cannot wait until we send all these fuckers to jail. Hope that money is worth it.

  • Once again, they’re punishing immigrants even when they try to do it right…

  • As requested by pootin master

  • "Follow the law to immigrate!"

. . . and we'll still fuck your life up.

  • Why are we still tolerating Trump being in our White House?

  • I guess the russian asset has been instructed not to habour Ukranian refugees.

  • This is what happens when you have target numbers to reach and not the number of people that genuinely should be deported to fill those targets.

  • I have friends here on student visas and green cards and the longer this shit goes on the more scared I get for them. We’re arresting people at their mandated interview appointments? How does this encourage anyone to follow the rules

  • They'll let her rot in a cage for a week or two and free her without explanation. They got to make money caging people!

Their run by two of the largest federal prison private companies in the US (for profit). Gotta make that bread.

That's the best case, unfortunately. It could get much worse for her.

  • ICE wants to make immigrants too afraid to get their documentation so that when they are detained, ICE can point out that they are undocumented and the average American will just nod their heads and go back to not caring.

  • "ICE hands out sandwiches to the homeless" would be more of a headline at this point.

  • Hopefully we will see a day that every last ICE thug is detained and deported to foreign  penitentiaries for life for their crimes. And as Trump said “don’t be too nice” when arresting them.

  • It's quotas. It's all about fucking quotas. They're tasked with arresting and deporting an impractically large amount of people and they will do anything to pump those numbers up. This plays along with the fact that ICE is also full of cowards who conspicuously avoid going after actual risky targets, so of course they'd target people who are actually going through legal channels.

  • When will the nightmare end

  • they call this spawn camping

  • Just another daily pointless outrage instance of casual injustice.... But I hope everyone remembers this and all the incidents just like it every time they vote for the rest of their lives....

  • What violent crime did she commit (to be arrested)?

  • So they want you to become a citizen and then chop you off at the knees when you do things legally.

Can’t wait until they are all in jail.

  • It was never about doing it “the right way”. It’s all about racism.

  • It was never about "doing things the right way."

  • Where are all the people cheering for this because they should have "followed the rules"?

  • ICE: why do you guys hate us so much?

  • Intentional tactica from them to stalk there and in courts. Its about creating constant unsafe feeling and to actually make people skip their hearings.

So you can detain them, for not being legal. Because if they show up then you would detain them for showing up.

Would love more sandwich guys. With really heavy sandwiches.

  • The only thing remotely intelligent about ICE agents is how they've avoided people and communities that will organise and resist. It's a strategy and it will work until there is nobody left to target who isn't protected. And then they'll go after the next minority.
