He was hired to comb through information to build bullshit cases around Trump's enemies.
He was hired to find the Biden FBI agent that placed the bombs on Jan 6th, and then ended up finding it was a MAGA supporter who was influenced by Trump instead.
He was hired to declassify all the illegal stuff that Dems did that was being hidden from the public, and is now leading the largest censorship of information so Trump isn't named in the Epstein files. Like coverup some state sponsored murder of the wrong person that Trump ordered, not his name from the Epstein stuff.
Unrelated to your topic, but in grade school I used to tell gullible kids that the chorus to the 1978 Toto hit “Hold The Line” was actually “Toe the Line, Love isn't always on time” and the record guy misheard it.
Well, it’s time for Democrats to be just as brutal. Not to be corrupt, but just to not give way to Republicans. Machiavellianism to the max. But I don’t think that will happen since they don’t even have the guts to hold out for the government shutdown
Blatant corruption and persecution/retaliation against those who aren’t loyal. And people still think it’s hyperbole or alarmist to call the US government (this administration) an authoritarian regime.
You seem to think they even put their mind outside their own little bubble. It’s not intentional they’re just completely removed from the little people
Plus, whether you believe them or not, the agents are arguing in their lawsuit that they didn't even kneel out of respect. They say they were confronted by a mob, they felt threatened, and they felt kneeling would help to deescalate the situation and keep them safe. I guess in Kash Patel's mind they should have stood their ground and allowed the mob to attack them, or maybe pull out their guns and start blasting.
That'd make more sense because the idea that someone believes in racial justice while happily working at the FBI would mean that person is, at best, an absolute moron who knows nothing about the FBI's history of undermining (or murdering movement leaders of) those beliefs.
Uhm. The article clarified that the ex agents are suing on the grounds that their kneeling was NOT in solidarity, but as a deescalation tactic since they were unarmed and outnumbered...
I hate to think what they'd be claiming if they had been armed
yeah dude he is/was compromised by russia. regardless of if all these things fell into place with whatever plan they have it also benefits russia to get them out of their hair and to dismantle everything america made for itself. it lines up with the elites means to control. it is a big fuck you to everyone.
I am unclear on why this matters, though read the same thing. But, like...
"The agents say in their lawsuit that they were fired in September by Director Kash Patel because they were perceived as not being politically affiliated with President Donald Trump. But they say their decision to take a knee on June 4, 2020,days after the death of George Floydat the hands of Minneapolis police, has been misinterpreted as political expression."
In that part, is it a thing that FBI agents need to be politically aligned with the current sitting president? Like do they fire and replace all FBI agents every time the ruling party changes after an election? Surely this isn't the case, but what is the meaning referenced in the par above?
I don't understand why they all even need to come back and say, not it wasn't me exercising my free speech politically, it was actually a move to de-escalate, or to scratch an itch, lol.
I guess maybe it's just against protocol to express your political beliefs while on the job? Is that the rub here? I could probably see that...
Its not a thing that they have to be politically aligned with the current administration. But it is a thing they have to be politically neutral and serve any legitimate government to the best of their abilities.
Particularly they are not supposed to use their government employee status to push political ideologies and they are definitely not supposed to do anything in uniform that could be interpreted as political.
And i used very specific wording in that last sentence. In the government there is a very common term "real, perceived, or imagined". Where basically anything that could be perceived as a conflict of interest (even if its not) has to be treated carefully. Because the public tends not to care about context
So there is a very shaky footing the FBI has to stand on for these firings. And the ruling will be decided by whether they can convince the judge the employees actions would be interpreted as political by the average person.
In the government there is a very common term "real, perceived, or imagined". Where basically anything that could be perceived as a conflict of interest (even if its not) has to be treated carefully.
Except for Trump or anyone in his administration, or family, or his judges, then its ok apparently
The headline reads like Kash Patel fired them for making a political statement, but that's not the case. The agents kneeled for strategic reasons. They're not actually on the right side, against Trump.
Kneeling is 100% protected by the United States Constitution. I hope they are able to win their lawsuits and deliver a decisive blow to this authoritarian regime.
100%. I wonder though if an FBI policy violation would make their termination lawful? Like kneeling is free speech. But if there was a policy that said how to form a crowd control line and they violated that by kneeling then that sounds lawful
Supreme Court has already ruled that state actors don't have free speech when engaging with their duties.
Example; a Prosecutor has free speech rights to tell a local news organization that his fellow Prosecutors are covering up a false warrant, but doesn't have free speech rights make the exact same complaint internally.
I heard an interview of a FBI agent who was pushed out where he talked about this. The FBI does not receive training for patrolling and has no policies for patrolling, and they were given zero directives or guidance when they were ordered to patrol the streets. So that would lead me to believe there wouldn't be standing to say kneeling was counter to policy as there allegedly is zero relevant policy.
i am not sure I follow. Of course there isn't a clear policy banning on-duty "kneeling" as a physical action.
But, though I am not fluent in it, I believe the Hatch Act is exactly for times like this, and bans on-duty agents from expressing political views in different situations, as the intent is for the agency to maintain a bipartisan outward position while performing their job. If that is what happened.
It's pretty clear in that context that the argument in the story now is not about whether or not they can kneel, or knew the kneeling protocol, but about whether their kneeling was expressing a personal political belief (exaggerated as siding with the agitators) or them getting creative to de-escalate a situation... as the intent of the move.
But honestly, even if to de-escalate the situation, aren't they de-escalating things by acting like they agree with the protestors? Like, submitting, if not politically agreeing?
It does feel like a touchy subject... at least now that the "ruling on the field" is that they are fired. In a better world, I don't think they should've been fired for this in the first place unless there is context I am missing. I just think it could be very hard to appeal after the fact.
I know right? Its always funny to see redditors talk about law and shit when the proof is right infront of them that it doesnt mean shit anymore. This is what conservatism was always about.
What are these comments getting at? This firing isn't about 'constitutional rights', it's about company policy, the hatch act, etc.
FBI agents can have their own beliefs on whatever and express them personally however they want )(within reason), they can kneel at a football game out of uniform if the mood strikes them. But while actively FBI, on the clock, they are required to keep that to themselves and remain bipartisan on all fronts. This is why they were presumably fired. And pointing at the Constitution isn't a plat here.
I wish that in this case they were let slide, and no one was fired here because it does seem like their actions in the end helped to de-escalate. But now that they have been fired for cause and this is an appeal... I am not sure they have a great chance of getting their jobs back. Arguing that the intent was to de-escalate and not to make a political expression of their own... may not mean anything. Because even "de-escalating the situation" was to make it look like they were making a partisan stance publicly, or worse, to submit.
Aside from that, with Garcetti v Ceballos (2006), the court ruled that public employees don't have the right to free speech when acting in an official position. I vehemently disagree with that decision, but it is the decision, and 3 of the 5 votes for that decision are still on the bench.
So ultimately the question will be, was this kneeling an expression of free speech or a de-escalation tactic?
Unfortunately, with the climate of the situation (George Floyd protests), that will be a very hard sell.
Yes, the family of the woman who was shot after breaking into the capital and repeatedly warned with baby gloves to stop kicking in the door—- her family got $5 million of our money because Trump is a partisan POS.
This is America 2025. One year in the regime and Jared Kushner is about to buy HBO with Saudi backing.
Has Patel figured out yet that when his buddies talk about that place, it's a white supremacy thing, and they're never gonna consider him one of them? No? Not yet? I don't know whether to pity him or... eh, yeah, I can feel pity and disdain for the same person.
White supremacy in the US has been and continues to be upheld by non-white people all the time. It's been that way for a couple hundred years now. "Can't beat 'em, join 'em." "Not all skin folk are kin folk." "Uncle Tom." "All tokens will be spent."
Can Indian-Americans in politics please be less fucking embarrassing? Being evil is one thing, being a loser is another thing, but how are Kash Patel and Vivek Ramaswamy ALSO completely incompetent? If there was one thing diaspora Indians used to pride ourselves on, it was our competence. These incompetent shitstains are now determined to fuck with that reputation while playing prominent roles in the most cartoonishly evil, inept administration in recent memory. So fucking embarrassing.
Do Kash Patel’s parents even go out in public anymore? Like, imagine the conversations they must have.
Some auntie: “My son is a doctor! He got his MD at Harvard.”
Kash Patel’s mom: “Yeah? Well my son is the director of the FBI. He even got recognized for it recently! The press gave him a superlative!”
Nah, he looks like someone who is taking a small pharmacy's worth of shit to keep the jitters and hallucinations under control because has a Stevie Nicks cocaine habit but only has an Andy Dick budget.
One would think Tulsi would hook up him with the premium shit but I'm pretty sure she's been ordered to sell it in order to pay for ICE Barbie's biweekly lip fillers and Hegseth's gin needs.
Didn’t they do this to help calm a protest from turning into a riot?
Like instead of some small dick energy show of force with riot shields and batons. They just made a symbol gesture that showed the crowed they were heard at least.
Yup, they were outnumbered by an agitated crowd and without riot control gear, and instead of potentially opening fire on American citizens they took a knee as a deescalation maneuver and the crowd moved on.
this is what its like to work in america. its like this from the top to the bottom. its so fucked. literally everywhere. this country is run on nepotism, handouts and unpaid services.
Another question, why the fuck is my tax paying dollars going to this tokens fucking hack of a country singer girlfriend??? No one knew who the fuck she was, but she needs special protection for singing her shitty ass music?????
They stood up for equal treatment, and got punished for it. If the FBI can’t handle employees peacefully protesting racism on their own time, they’re proving those agents right.
It's bullshit to go after agents who did something in the past that was not considered unacceptable under that administration. You can argue either way whether they should have kneeled, but we would all agree they weren't doing anything that would have ever been an issue under Biden. Government employees shouldn't have to predict what actions will be acceptable under future administrations.
Now if Patel had merely released a memo saying this type of action is no longer acceptable and could result in termination, that would be fair.
“No Mr. Director sir, I was not aware of the connotations of this scarf. I’ve never even heard the term ‘kente’ before this conversation, my niece told me it was a Gryffindor scarf from her favorite book series, Harry Potter”.
Kept on as head of the FBI for using the FBI to ferry your girlfriend around.. and you to her concerts.
.. but sure let's fire 12 people who knelt out of respect.
Is the hypocrisy the actual point now? Is it a show of force? .. A big 'fuck you' to all of us?
Well he sure as hell wasn't hired for his honest personality.
Hired for his FB eyes
FB: “Fucking Big”
flying bug?
Yo...... Ok, can't get better than that
I read that in 'honeet movie trailer's voice.

and get the sharpies from Staples to write ANTIFA and trans rights over all of the evidence.
Yes, it is
It's a demonstration of power and influence
Toe the line and you get perks, favors, permission to flaunt your authority
Step out of line, and you'll be punished in the most nakedly partisan ways possible, to keep others in line
Fascism is nothing without the carrot and the whip
Unrelated to the topic, but Thank you —- I never wrote the phrase TOE THE LINE… but in my head I always thought “TOW” …. Incorrectly
.. holy fuck, it's not tow?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toe_the_line
It Could be... its your world squirrel.
Don't let your dreams be dreams.
Why would it be "tow"? Where would you be towing the line to?
Tow the line like - an ox towing in a straight line in farming?
I promise I smart good.
It seems like the yoke's on you.
is farm pun, it'll grow on ya.
Ya know, that line of thinking actually makes some sense to me.
Yeah, makes sense to me too.
Tow the line - would mean doing the hard work
Toe the line - would mean doing as you are told and don't step over the line
Could also use a tugboat analog too I suppose. Small boat towing a larger boat, but one wrong move and you get screwed
The line is fascism and it's tied to a steamroller and you tow it with other fascists to wreck democracy.
Why is it a piece of cake? Why can you not have your cake and eat too?
Do you have to bark up the wrong tree?
Unrelated to your topic, but in grade school I used to tell gullible kids that the chorus to the 1978 Toto hit “Hold The Line” was actually “Toe the Line, Love isn't always on time” and the record guy misheard it.

This is, without doubt, the most pathetic admin in our history. They all act like this. Like spoiled children.
most authoritarians are in fact spoiled children who believe they are entitled to everything and that they are immune to consequence.
Blatant corruption and persecution/retaliation against those who aren’t loyal. And people still think it’s hyperbole or alarmist to call the US government (this administration) an authoritarian regime.

Are people still asking this as a serious question? Do people not get that America is under a fascist regime?
Party of free speech*
*free speech is only permitted if it aligns with what Trump has approved
"Us" never crosses their minds. They're all thriving in their own corrupt worlds and loving every minute.

Well, they haven't found a limit to their abuse of power. So they keep on pushing.
Yeah, it’s so we don’t have attention to spare to keep track of what favors lil D is selling to the technobarons. It’s all kayfabe
well it was at an indie Wrestling event TBF.... ./s
Having integrity makes you unfit as a pawn to control
You dont want to spread for the unlubed fuck of a lifetine? Here's the chilioil!

Apparently only they kneeled to defuse tension with an overwhelming group of angry protesters, and not as as a statement of solidarity.

One would think Kash Patel would be familiar with that fact given how much time he spends kneeling in front of Trump.
What constitution?
I know right? Its always funny to see redditors talk about law and shit when the proof is right infront of them that it doesnt mean shit anymore. This is what conservatism was always about.

We'll see I guess. I sincerely feel bad for them!
Except prior judgement is out the window with the Robert's Court, so it's not

If only it were 100% protected from old age, someone help me up!
Yes. except scotus will say that exec authority somehow, trumps, this.
the only way they'd rule for plaintiffs is if they were fired for being white christians praying.
But if you storm the capitol during a failed insurrection and are sent to Valhalla your family will get a 5 million dollar payout from the government.
🎯
Is this real life?

First EA now HBO??? 😨
Or is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality~
Keep Fanta out of our seas!
That loser didn't end up in Valhalla.
Pretty sure they're just referencing Patel's odd comment about seeing Kirk in Valhalla, not being serious.
Has Patel figured out yet that when his buddies talk about that place, it's a white supremacy thing, and they're never gonna consider him one of them? No? Not yet? I don't know whether to pity him or... eh, yeah, I can feel pity and disdain for the same person.
Failed?
It seems like it perfectly set them up to take over the country completely.
It is ironic to kneel for racial justice and then be fired for it by a guy of Indian origin whose father also suffered ethnic persecution.
Eh, yes and no.
White supremacy in the US has been and continues to be upheld by non-white people all the time. It's been that way for a couple hundred years now. "Can't beat 'em, join 'em." "Not all skin folk are kin folk." "Uncle Tom." "All tokens will be spent."
From the one drop rule to white-passing to white-adjacent to anti-Blackness to colorism to Black principals "choosing" to enforce school dress codes which would violate the Crown Act (literally, wtaf?) (tangential article). It's an incredibly complex matter people far smarter than I have written about, and it can be argued that it's anything from a matter of survival to internalized racism to internalized hatred...
And of course white supremacists capitalize on it every vestige of colorism that they can (one example pdf warning).
So yeah, someone of Indian ancestry, with its caste system... oof
Patel's still a fucking dick, though 😒
Bravo, very well said
he read this because he's a narcissist and we all know what the look on his face is
shouldn’t have been making a political statement while wearing the FBI badge
Indian origin guy who has ties to norse mythology
Ka$h still not realising that tokens eventually get spent...

Kash Patel’s mom: “Yeah? Well my son is the director of the FBI. He even got recognized for it recently! The press gave him a superlative!”
“What was it?”
“Most unfit for office.”
Please can we just post the FBI logo or something. This guy's face being all over Reddit every second day is getting so fucking fatiguing.
It begs to be slapped almost as much as Agit Pai.
Does Kash Patel not know that had been not the civil rights movement that was led by black people, he wouldn't be in the United States
Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 was a result of the very black people Kash is suppressing right now.
Kash looks like he has no idea what is going on in every pic i've seen of him lmao
He always looks like someone just told him that there's a ghost right behind him and he's too scared to turn around.
Oh my god, this fits so well
His wife is a KGB or Mossad plant - his stupid face believes she’s with him for his swagger
Didn’t they do this to help calm a protest from turning into a riot?

Trump wants his people to always choose violence.
this is what its like to work in america. its like this from the top to the bottom. its so fucked. literally everywhere. this country is run on nepotism, handouts and unpaid services.
At least 2025 has cured imposter syndrome for an entire generation.
Lmao is that Kash Patel holy shit the dudes aged over a decade in the last few months 😂😂😂
Another question, why the fuck is my tax paying dollars going to this tokens fucking hack of a country singer girlfriend??? No one knew who the fuck she was, but she needs special protection for singing her shitty ass music?????
Nice way to point out that the Trump approach may not be the best way to ensure domestic tranquility.
Fascism needs loyalists....they don't consider empathy to be loyal to their fascism....which is how fascism faschises
And this administration still tries to pretend they care about free speech.
They stood up for equal treatment, and got punished for it. If the FBI can’t handle employees peacefully protesting racism on their own time, they’re proving those agents right.
If they’d knelt in respect of the Jan 6th rioters they’d be getting promotions. This is entirely political
What a world we now live in.
The head of the agency posts stuff directly from neo nazis and their followers, but pointing out we still have issues with racism gets you fired.
[deleted]
Why does he always say things happen twice? What is his issue?
It's bullshit to go after agents who did something in the past that was not considered unacceptable under that administration. You can argue either way whether they should have kneeled, but we would all agree they weren't doing anything that would have ever been an issue under Biden. Good!! Sue the FBI, Sue the Trumps, Sue the RNC
Is this how you find an undercover FBI agent, ask them to kneel at a racial justice event .
I never got why kneeeling was suddenly deemed disrespectful...
I have it associated with proposing to marry someone, the initiator tends to kneel in those situations...
Kneeling on someone's neck and killing them is cool. But to kneel in protest of this is crossing the line.
Our government keeps telling us who they are without saying it in words.
most flattering picture ive seen of this man. must have laid back on the trump parties.
They look truly terrified for their lives in that photo.
Who would want to keep working for somebody who acts like that? You'd be walking on eggshells every day of the rest of your career.
America is so weird : you guys kneel for God but insist on standing for the flag
