Between backing the RSF in Sudan and now effectively carving out South Yemen from their 'allies' in Saudi Arabia, the UAE is really speed-running the 'Destabilize the Entire Region' achievement. Everyone was so focused on Iran vs. Saudi that they missed Abu Dhabi quietly playing empire builder in the background for control of the Red Sea ports.
Kind of to some degree. Anyone who actually reads on it knows about the role of the UAE, but the news doesn’t really highlight it. One of their things they people who has an interest relating to it would be able to point out but not may elsewise

To be fair, Southern-Yemen was forcibly united with the north by the last regime, and this was a long time coming.
It would probably be more destabilizing to try to keep the south locked in with the north, especially since the Houtis clearly are going nowhere.
I honestly think the west doesn't pay nearly enough attention to Abu Dhabi or Riyadh and the influence those places have.

They're not. They took over the not houthi part.
