I am a dad who enjoys weather and Apple Weather is the most useless weather app that exists. I’ve seen it call for 17” of snow when it doesn’t even snow at all before.
The best sources I’ve found is weather.gov(at least until the orange turd ruins it). Also nynjpaweather on instagram.
1000% agree, I’m so unhappy that Apple bought Dark Sky then clearly did nothing with that team & their data.. having to rely on wunderground for now outside of weather dot gov :(
Apple Weather is completely useless lately. Don’t ever use it for winter weather. At the place I ski, it’s been 10-20 degrees and dumping snow many days recently but the Apple Weather app will only ever “predict” sleet or a wintry mix. For whatever reason, snow doesn’t exist anymore to Apple Weather.
Check Weather Channel app, Accuweather, NWS, OpenSnow etc. etc. I live in North Jersey and they all predict in the range of 5–10 inches for tomorrow night’s storm.
I’ll believe it when I see it….back in the 1990’s we are slated to get at least 12” of snow. We went and cancelled all kinds of work for the next day as this was an absolute sure thing. The next morning the sun was shining brightly and there was never a hint of snow. TV meteorologists were back peddling furiously…. Of course this wasn’t the first time nor the last
Yeah, my friends don’t have NYE plans so it looks like I’ll be hosting for that instead. Had to freeze the ground beef so it’ll last longer. Not much I can do now 🤷🏻♀️
Tomorrow, not today.
I live in northern NJ and my iPhone still says <1”. I don’t get it 🤷♀️
Apple Weather is really bad about predicting snow. It’s saying less than an inch of wintry mix where I live but NWS says 4-8 inches.
It’s a recent change, but yeah. It told me we had .25 inches of wintry mix the other day. We had 2 inches of snow.

Weather.Gov is the source of data for basically all other apps so it’s always my go to. So far orange idiot hasn’t killed it yet but they’re trying…

TDS is rampant
Sure, you can ignore facts if you want.

That's because your phone isn't a meteorologist. All it is doing is reading a model output with no human interpretation.
Weather apps are complete garbage (ESPECIALLY with winter precipitation) if it's not using data directly from the national weather service
Go to the NWS site and read the forecast discussion for the most accurate info
maybe apple weather is the more accurate one, lol. maybe at most 2” outside now?
Thank god it starts Friday afternoon. How else would I panic buy bread and milk if the stores are closed for Christmas?
Respiratory viruses are starting to surge, so don't forget to panic buy a year's worth of toilet paper while you're there.
I got an email informing me that IHOP is open today. We can all panic order some pancakes so we don’t die.
Driving from Bridgewater to Lancaster PA tomorrow will be a blast.
I have to drive all the way to North Carolina 🥲
Posts in new jersey sub. Only posts radar for northern half of new jersey.
We really are two states
We might hate on South Jersey but at least we admit you exist, not like "Central" Jersey
Tbf, OP’s storm watch refers only to north and central Jersey. So presumably they’re located up north, and not trying to be comprehensive.
I do enjoy that the NWS office that issues many of the alerts I see for up north is located in Mount Holly
Forecast in NWK says Highs of 50. Honestly, a 50°F White Christmas would be extremely on brand for this year.
Nice
So, note to self, get supermarket shopping done in the morning.
Middlesex getting it too!
We had 7" last Sunday down exit 74.
Hope we get another shot!
There's still quite a bit on the ground at my house and I live where, if they say 2-4 inches that means 3-6 inches 😬

I’m sure hoping the meteorologist are right about this one, otherwise I canceled a party for nothing 😒
That’s a rough one. Even if it’s just a few people you still plan for food, drinks cleaning…and canceling means re-doing it all

Thank God Friday. I'm leaving for Cancun on Sunday
This weather is making me miss New Orleans.
ah.. nobody remembers the REAL snow storms in the 80’s.. now THOSE were a state of emergency
And my trash is getting picked up tomorrow. Not sure what to do about the plow.
Bring your bins in since they will be empty? Snow is starting the afternoon
Just set your cans back 3-4ft.
