version A

version B

  • Version A looks very disorganized, but I don’t think the concept of spaces is necessarily a problem.

I think to fix it, you could try making the word spaces exactly half a square width. For example, three characters with two spaces between them is the exact same width as four characters with no spaces between them.

The sentence spaces should be exactly one character. These constraints would keep the glyphs well aligned at all times. Also, it would help to make the space between columns at least as wide as the space, or maybe slightly wider.

  • Oh, so spaced words?

So, in version A there are spaces between words, and slightly larger spaces between sentences, where as version B all words are evenly spaced, and entire blocks are left between sentences.

I think version b looks better, I couldn't even tell that version a had spaces. You could also be like chinese and ignore spaces completely though

  • I'm also torn. At first glance, A is better. But once I know how things work, B is better. I think I agree with u/RpxdYTX and leave out spaces altogether.

  • version a kinda

  • I really dislike B, there are huge gaps between words, I'm having a difficult time even understanding whether it is supposed to be read, in rows or columns?

I also have no problem seeing the spaces for A, it just looks neater to me. I'd definitely go with A over B.
