These are the ones that sort of reconfirm in my mind how unserious of an internet trend (however serious an internet trend can be) NAFO always was and is. NAFO bans discussion of I/P, and NAFO content creators on YT started putting out content around the time 10/7 happened talking about how "it's always been like this so you shouldn't care much" with a minority outright saying Israel is the bad guy in the situation (this was before the actual incursion into Gaza btw).
The center-left can't copy neoconservatism no matter how hard it tries. NAFO is an expression of that. Russia and Iran (and by proxy, Hamas) are on the same side of the same global geopolitical conflict. But that doesn't matter to center-leftists.
The war's just a proxy for domestic culture war squabbles to them. Which is why they only started paying attention recently when the war's been going on since 2014. Neoconservatism is motivated by patriotism whereas the center-left are either ambivalent or outright hostile to their respective nations.
Putting rage bait aside, even as a Ukrainian I have to ask in what way this differs from defendants being allowed to file routine pre-trial motions and responses to them in, say, U.S. federal courts. Even being accused of crimes as serious as rape or murder does not mean that the justice system should prevent someone from using available legal remedies to mount a defense. I see little difference between those scenarios and what is described in this news article.
