It was set up. This spider species doesn't not hunt outside of their web. This species wont even go in for a bite unless their prey is wrapped up or it is a defensive bite against non-prey. This would not be possible unless the huntsman was dead and someone took her out of her web
This feels set up. Widows are essentially useless and in all regards, blind outside of their web and will undoubtedly run. Latrodectus species doesn't pounce on prey and bite. Their web is literally their sensory organ and they never leave their web unless it is destroyed.
