Leopards are the single biggest threat to honey badgers in the African savanna. Lions & hyenas have evolved to hunt much larger prey so very rarely bother hunting them.
Are you a marine biologist? How do you know they're mortal creatures? Have you personally ended the life of one and then stuck around for 60 days to make sure it wasn't just napping?
there are a lot of videos on youtube of them gnawing on faces and skulls to kill prey, particularly warthogs. leopards are really interesting to me for whatever reason. they do neck bites as well though when they are an animal of similar or larger size.
I hate how every post about honey badgers is just filled with tired memes about how indestructible they are, has nearly entirely soured my enjoyment of reading about them.
I pretty aware of Reddit's status as a meme graveyard. It's not just a Reddit issue though, it's every platform where user communication is possible.
Only reason I have an account is because comment sections can yield interesting conversations or tidbits of information. Reddit culture over all isn't for me.
One of these days, old school small scale niche forums will make a comeback. It might not be the answer but it'd be more fun than whatever Reddit tries to be at any given moment.
Not one of those Honey Badgers are actually dead, they're just biding their time before they finish off the leopard.
They're just pretending to be dead and bleeding out.
Edited out of the article due to space requirements:
After waking up from a deep slumber in the leopard's stomach, the honey badger than burrows its way out through the leopard's organs.
Are you sure? One them seems to be... missing a few parts....
If you truly believe that, it's proof that evolution is working for them.
When you're a Honey Badger, missing a few parts is all part of the challenge!
The one in picture #3 must be a magician
"Oh that?? 'Tis just a flesh wound!"
Tis but a scratch!
Zero fucks given. I love em.
"Very rarely bother hunting them"
That's what the lions and hyenas say when asked, while avoiding eye contact.
Even in death, those honey badgers don't care.
They choose to get eaten, then once the Leopard is sleeping, the Honey Badger reassembles and eats it's way out.
Although never caught on camera, local tribes people have witnessed this, according to translators.
The difference between the real world and viral internet myths
They're mortal creatures, so this isn't a shock to anyone. They're still tough as nails, though.

shock to anyone? In these times most people get their knowledge from viral memes and tiktok videos.
And there are pictures of many different herbivores consuming meat, because of various necessities.
It doesn't subvert the fact that 99% of the time they don't.
Honey badgers are rarely worth the effort it takes to eat them. So they are very rarely consumed. But at the end of the day, meat it meat.
Is it weird that something in me is glad those cocky little shits got something after them?
I am glad too.
People overhyping these weasels made me annoyed of them at times.
Honey badger don’t care
Everybody loves the underdog.
Same here, I hate how overhyped honey badgers are on the internet
How do these tanks finally die asphyxiation I assume
They die of leopard.
Face got eaten.
Ah yes most dangerous threat to them based off caption
i dont know about honey badgers specifically but leopards enjoy a skull crushing in general
Isn't that jaguars?

About 20 rpgs on farcry 4 🤣
The front fell off.

Soured your enjoyment? Honey badgers don't care. Neither does Reddit.
Hey look it's the exact same joke again! Please, another one!
Welcome to Reddit? That's what the site is designed for. Morons spamming reference culture at each other to make themselves feel seen

God, I hope.
Yeah, it’s like beating a dead horse at this point.
Just a scratch... Let's call it a draw
ah so the honey badger is not indestructible as the internet makes us believe
Great set of photos, I feel that leopards are still very underappreciated animals despite not being remotely obscure creatures.
Their adaptability is simply impressive.
Nahh, these Honey Badger just ran out of Immortal Potion. So yeah, its fair though
At a certain point, you have to wonder how much of the eating is hunger and how much is spite after a particularly frustrating kill.
Na, honey badger is Just simply in a bush before they get up and kill them. Honey badger are too angry to die
Great set of photos.
This is just leopard propaganda... Honey badgers don't get done like this !
What a beautiful animal, truly amazing. 1st pic gives me chills
Number 3 really looks like he doesn't give a shit. Even in death they don't care
Not shown: all the dead Leopards the Honey Badger slapped around after they scared off those larger predators.
Now show the honey badgers with their leopard kills
They go and find a Leopard when they get tired of kicking everyone else's business in. Worthy fight.
Legend has it that this is all the same honey badger, but it's a different leopard each time.
🩹💔❤️🩹
Honey Badger doesn’t care.
The invulnerable honey badger was always just a meme anyway. It’s over guys, meme’s dead.
I would stop calling myself “honey” to reduce the amount of attacks.
The little rat looking creature just got ate!!! Damn nature, you scary!
Tis but a scratch! Fight me!
I don’t care.
So… honey badgers aren’t quite as bad-ass as I was led to believe?
They are ferocious and tough for their size, but a leopard is still a successful predator multiple times their size.
They are. But at the end of the day they aren't immortal.
Honey badger no longer gives a fuck.
They should have given a fuck
Both are very overrated animals TBH
