Realize it's an older program now but what's the consensus on Metallicadpa's PPL routine these days?
Still works fine.
I have two chest+back days but I'm very limited on time. For each I do a heavy compound exercise and a more stable, more isolation-ish exercise.
So like bench press + pec deck and pull up + chest supported machine row or BB row + lat pulldowns.
With limited time in mind, would you guys do 2 bench 3 pec deck sets, or 3 bench 2 pec deck sets? With the last pec deck set always ending with a drop set.
3 BB rows and 2 pulldowns or 2 BB rows and 3 pulldowns?
So what day are you hitting delts? And how far away from ur chest + back day?
The exercises + volume there be relevant to how you should program ur chest + back day.
If you REALLY wanted to speed up chest + back you'd superset everything. Although it's true that if you pick more isolation exercises, you can do sets quicker as they'll need less rest time.
I'm already supersetting the compounds (and it's very exhausting). Can't superset machines, gym too busy.
I do an Arnold split so chest+back, next day shoulders + arms.
Then just do more iso bro.
