you're generalizing quite a bit. a lot of UK accents don't do that. perhaps you upset them.

Look at this comment for example, he got loads of upvotes. Mine wasn't even that rude. I think it's pretty mysterious.

Yeah but that one is accurate.

Don't worry, someone from Scotland will be along soon to correct that generalization...

Seems like the "we" is the part that people disagree with. It would likely have gone better if you had said "In some parts of the UK including [my region]..." instead of implying everyone in the UK pronounce it "chewsday".

He said 'we' though? I don't get it. I am convinced british people just personally hate me or some shit

Context matters. You were generalizing, the commenter is doing the opposite: they are explaining that different regions in the UK use different terms.

He said "Region specific", look up generalisation meaning lol

Probably generalising a population that has at least 40 different accents and dialects across it.

It’s not even a cultural difference either.

    parent
  • 7 points mikinnie

    -not really a cultural difference

-they said "avoid obvious answers" and yours is a very common joke about english accents

-probably doesn't read as a genuine answer as it is, again, a common joke about how english people talk

  • 6 points au_graybones

that isn't a cultural difference that's a dialectical difference. the post also asked you to avoid obvious answers, and this is the most tired joke about poms there is

Does anywhere in the world say it twos-day?

Because, accidental or not, it was a little racist.. but to be honest I found it funny, 45 downvotes feels harsh
